At around 6 minutes, the 'note below the tonic' with the very small interval - is that a normal Bb? In Persian Segah, the note below the half flat tonic is the natural 7th. On Tar the tonic for Segah is usually E half flat with D natural being the note below. I've heard in Turkish music too when they play Sika the note below the half flat tonic is just the normal flat version. I find the regionality of these small intervals very interesting! Also could you comment on your use of "half flat" to describe the Sikah tonic? There is also "semi-tone" and "quarter-tone" and even "accidental" which I find quite funny. On Persian Tar the fret for Sikah is not exactly halfway between Eb and E as 'half flat' and even 'quarter tone' make it sound but closer to the natural E. Is it halfway in Arabic music? In Farsi the word is Koron, is there an Arabic equivalent?

Hello! Thank you for this fantastic series I've just found. Can I ask you to recommend a melodic song to me to practice Arabic singing as a man? Thank you

A simple pop song in huzzam (the main sika maqam) is garh tani by sherine. Otherwise there are a lot of playlists on Sami's channel for the more complicated classics.
