For me and perhaps some other people, the notoriety from films and fun gameplay was the deciding factor. The films definitely make her iconic as they were pretty good

I also main sadako, in my case I just loved the condemned kill animation
I hadn't watched the films until I played her in DBD, and the movies made me love her even more!
