Thank you Stavros 🙏 it means a lot!
Love Greek Coffee! Thank you Daniel!!
Me too! I am actually making one right now ☕️🇬🇷 Thanks for watching my video 😀
Nothing beats the amazing smell of the freshly grounded coffee....
Anxiously waiting for a turk "erruoting" and commenting that it is not greek but Turkish coffee😊😊😊😊. Actually it came from the arabs who took it from the ethiopians. No matter the name of it it is the healthiest of all coffees. 😊😊
Turks drink tea no?
@@panteleon1 A lot of tea but greek coffee also 😊😂😂😂
The Turks haven't found this yet 👀🤣
and the most delicious
@@elizabethbaxter54 it gets even better if you put in the cup a cardamom seed for a while to release the aroma and take it of when the coffee is cooled and ready to drink. Give it a try😊🇬🇷😊
You have to put a bit of your ❤ and soul in the making. Thanks man!
The yayas use to flip the sediment from the cup to their flowers. It works!!!😊😊😊
Bakalis does it even better. But you can buy too a "camineto" and such a bronze "traditional briki" :)
I agree with panteleon...when the coffee starts to rise, we call it "before it turns over" stop the boiling. If you do that you will expereance a really full cream.
I love that old sticker at the coffee container at your friend shop! ΚΑΦΕΣ ΝΕΚΤΑΡ! :D Also i loved the discount!! 4 euro gia sena mono! haha ;)
Great video! The slower it boils the better its gets. George from Germany ( I stopped drinking greek coffee here, because its a mess everytime..:) )
Καλό Πάσχα I'm so happy for you and your family living in this beautiful country. I'm from the states, (my parents were born here), and living here is an adventure. I live in tripoli but I visit family and friends in sparta, kalamata, skala...etc. Nafplio is very beautiful. I am very happy for you folks. God bless your family.
Thanks, Tina for sharing 🇬🇷 Καλό Πάσχα
You are on the correct path 😀 Just keep in mind when about this type of coffee "faster is not better" and also as you already mentioned you have to add a generous amount of coffe to have a thick layer of "cream" in the end.
Bonus tip that even your greek friend did not mention: While pouring the coffee in the cup, if you wish to make some big bubbles to appear on the surface, you have to move "briki" up and down while pouring. This way some more air is traped that produces some bigger bubbles!
Hi from Cyprus. My late husband used to ask me have I cooked the coffee. The automatic electric greek coffee maker can sometimes be a bit quick but of course we need some kaimaki
My husband's brother had a kafeneo
«Άντε τα λέμε μετά» 😅 ωραίος!
I find that you get a better kaimak using the copper briki.
I saw the videos and I'm really glad that you love Greece. You say it as we Greeks know it. For water e.g. you said it like it is. We don't drink water in the countryside. Apart from Athens, in very few areas it is potable.
I have one objection, however, about how Greek coffee is made.😅
Try to take it off the heat as soon as the surface starts to rise, while the cream(καϊμάκι) is still thick. If you let it boil too much, you've ruined the cream. If it makes big bubbles, that is, you ruined it... you burned it.
After putting it in the cup, a tip for the cream.
You will have seen many people who blow the coffee. They obviously don't do it to cooling. They blow the cream to remove the coffee beans from the surface, so that when you drink it, it is more pleasant.
definitely very Greeks, they will have a different opinion from ours, about how you make Greek coffee of course.
sorry for my english level. I use translate
I wish you a beautiful life🌞⛱🌈🌍
It's always been a hit or miss with me making Greek coffee. It's not as easy to make as it looks in this video. Store bought, I prefer Bravo because I think it's lighter, but when I'm in Greece, I buy fresh ground from the neighborhood shop like you do. My ultimate goal is to be able to make it with no sugar
bravo meyale
Love Greek coffee
Me too!
i make it with gas like panagioths because that way it gets done faster , nice video
A little greek secret for you. If you put coffee in cold water and then you heat it up the coffee gets a stronger taste. In the opposite,if you half boil the water and then ad coffee it's lighter.
don't boil it too much when it starts to climb it is done
Correct; it messes up kaimaki...
I was always getting distracted and the coffee would overflow and burn the hub. So on the advice of a greek friend I bought a machine which makes the coffee automatically and switches off when it's ready. It's from Beko I think it's the Beko 3000.
Also I used xylitol instead of sugar because it's sweet, natural and good for your teeth.
Since you already know what you are doing go buy a gkazaki (gas burner) to get a better coffee and also faster and cheaper.
😂 Jan
I do not consider you a ξένος. You rock \m/.
I have to say, as a Greek, I do not like Greek coffee, I do like my φραπόγαλο however :D
To tsigaro? You gotta have a ciggie with the Greek coffee!
αδερφε την επομενη φορα βαλε μια κουταλια μελι αντι για ζαχαρη βραστα μαζι κι ανακαλυψε ενα καινουριο κοσμο
I like to drink it without any sugar or anything sweet, but I'll give it a go🇬🇷
If anyone knows where to find the burner that they use to make the greek coffee here in the USA please post a link.
Look for camping stove or gas stove
