Also, thank you so much. I've never seem DEH but I've heard about it and was curious. I searched for a summary but the first good one I found was a lot less in-depth than this to leave room for an analysis, and yours (although faster) was a lot more clear in the meaning and explained points the other video didn't, AS WELL AS being hilarious. Okay I love this but even after watching this video and listening to the soundtrack I'm still confused on 2 things.
1. Why did Connor kill himself? Was it because of the drugs?
2. How did connors parents find the dear Evan Hansen letters?
These might be super obvious and I'm just missing something but if anybody could help me out it'd be much appreciated, thanks :)

His parents found the letter because it was in connors pocket when connors parents found him dead and assumed they were friends.

Evan as Social Anxiety Disorder. Not Social Awkwardness, because of his anxiety he tried to kill himself before the musical by falling out of a tree. Hence, the cast Evan has. Also, I'm a Hamilton fan myself but JESUS you gush hard with those analogies!

Been wanting to see the show for years. Found it like in March earlier this year in two parts on UA-cam. The records bf was really crappy and got taken down a couple days later. I live in the middle of nowhere and nowhere is nowhere near New York’s broadway, but a theatre several hours away from me is showing DEH in several months and my mom surprised me with tickets for me AND my best out-of-my-home-town friend. When I told her, she flipped out! She summed up how we both felt when she said, “It’s almost surreal to think in a few months, we’ll be watching Dear Evan Hansen on a stage.” Needless to say, we’re both excited.

You missed the most important part, Evan is deeply depressed and didn't fall from the tree, he jumped. There is as conversation between Conor and Evan before you will be found, where Conor asked what will happen to Evan if he can't help Conor. He would be alone with himself. Evan protests, and Conor drops the bomb line of: you didn't fall, you let go.
That is way you will be found is soo immensely powerful because he is singing about himself.
Actually, Evan isn't socially awkward... he suffers from anxiety, so...
I’m sorry, you seem fantastic and I’m sure the actors in this show are as well, but this video completely disregards that the plot is extremely dark and that Connor’s family basically wants to forget about him, but everybody pretending to care so they don’t look bad becomes ever present. Not to mention that “Connor” in the whole show is just Evan’s inside voice pretending to aid his false story to make him look better and honestly, it’s so hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that nobody ultimately cared about Connor, they were all frauds. And this video doesn’t mention this, or a trigger warning for suicidal conversations, or a real conversation about how being young and being alive is hard and this is something people think about daily and this show may hurt some people for real with it’s idea of somebody not mattering. People a frail and need to be uplifted and Dear, Evan Hansen does not uplift people, not to mention that children are played by 30-year olds when it should be high school kids portraying their own age for a more validating show and message. Really, what even is this shows message?
You see I haven’t seen DEH live yet and had only listened to the soundtrack so I though that “good for you” was connor’s mom singing about connor’s suicide, or maybe it says that in the song and I’m too busy crying that I don’t hear it, but meh. Thanks!
