Hi brother! Giving the temperature, at leaat you dont have massive amounts snow 2:53 them coyotes are trying find water, but it is all frozen. 6:00 i see it! Thats so sad about his turkeys 12:15 you're gonna have stop procrastinating and remake them traps 15:30 that sure is a pain in the you know what 22:40 and youre right they don't care 22:10 or they wouldn't walk on top your footprints

I feel yea man. Weather sucks here right now. It just froze last two days but getting ready to thaw and then rain again. I was gonna put my sets out today but with the fields getting ready to thaw out it will be difficult for me to get to them.

This weather is a major pain in the butt, I dont mind the snow, its way preferable to the rain then freezing rain to a little dusting of snow then oh wait for it, supposed to be more rain by friday. Hope your weather is better than mine. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

How many traps do you actually have time to run for predators? I'm thankful for you making cable restraint videos . . . I'm getting some next year. Your waxed dirt won't care if there is 1 inch of ice on top. I've learned much from your channel this year. I have about 20 gallons of barn sand and you just add salt to it and that works huh? finish the season strong bro, you can take a break after season

Im new to trapping whats difdernts between a cable and a snare?
Coyote season is open year round here in Minnesota. I make my own snare. Buy from snare shop bulk cable and locks and other parts you'll save yourself money. Buy the 5/64 1x19 cable keeps a nice loop and it's thinner but strong.
J, do you follow The Wild North here on UA-cam? If you don’t you should. Andrew has, quite possibly, the best channel out there with some really good information on trail sets and snowy conditions.

From the looks of it, you have as many coyotes as we have reds here in the midatlantic red fox belt. Foxes are easier to catch here though vs yotes. And ice, snow, and rain are the same bummers here. Plus where I trap is no snares or cr's allowed. I do alot of peat and hay chaff lol.

? what is the differance between a cable restraint and a snare ?
George Sutton cable restraints have a relaxing lock snare closes and stays chocking the animal

Hey J, how do you feel about the duke 3 1/2 with the rubber across the trap? I'm a little leery about them. I.think I'd rather have a straight metal foothold, but I know nothing about trapping.
Probably a duke number 3 and some states can only use footholds with rubber I’d get the straight steel traps

The snow will defiantly humble you when you see they either walk on by or they have stepped on the pan and there was a slab of ice covering.
As many coyotes you have ,the state should be giving out snares to you and all your nabors. Lucky man. Great video and info.

I feel you j with all of the weather I haven't caught anything in 3 days but mainly because my traps keep freezing even with my wax dirt any way I can fix this
Keep the videos a coming brother. I wish we had that kinda weather to trap in. We don’t get snow we get inches of rain tho. I had a set the other day after the flood that was a foot under water. I’ve gotta catch more beavers outta that spot I guess when the water goes down. It’s a couple hundred yards from the river and they dammed it up again. I’ve caught 22 there this year already. I guess I’ll be getting bait ready for next season lol
I feel for you! The weather in the last couple weeks or so has been as challenging as it gets for trapping. All you can do is keep em working as best you can. Yes, I've been there, the fresh tracks in the snow will swat the ego off of the most seasoned trapper lol! I hope your traps are loaded up with fur in the morning!!!

The weather can definitely break a trapper's spirit! Separates the men from the boys! That dawg likely had its ass bit good at some point and it healed like that. Hasn't had time to grow fur through it yet. As always, a good video Brother!

Ordered 2 dozen duke 550’s they are cheaper in price I just hope they hold up like the MB’s I use especially in 40 to 50 below ! I ordered 2 to try out & yes I like em sooo, let bill duke know you made a sale 😉 for him ! lol

Don't you use Calcium Chloride ? I have found it's a must in the freezing temps here in NY State.
