Chris is a country singer but he throws in these cover songs to mix it up. I've met him numerous times and have seen him perform a dozen times. He covers country songs as well I just with he would hurry up and release his COUNTRY album.

Chris Lane is only having fun with the songs. so stop being a negative Nancy. if you were a true fan of his you would actually listen to his EP. He's more country than Taylor Swift.

I totally disagree with Liski. Most music listeners don't leave their radio dials on ONE genre, ONE station, ONE sound, Etc. I may be cranking some Marvin Gaye one minute, Aerosmith the next, roll my windows down for some George Straight, and arrive at my destination to Bruno getting funky. So most listeners don't have such demands~
But, an even bigger point is expectations. I never went to a George Straight concert and expected a Kanye West cover. George is 'pure country.' Chris Lane's sound and music is eclectic. So, why would I go to a Chris Lane concert expecting anything less than eclectic ;)
Chris Lane has a damn good voice.. but some of these songs drive me crazy. I've been a life long country music fan, and I'm all about up and coming artists. I just wish he would cover COUNTRY songs. Chris, please don't cover BSB or N'sync. You sound amazing, seriously, but why boy bands? :/ (Also, the guy on the left does an amazing job with the Nae Nae!)
