i hear you man, not once have i had a decent authentic buffalo wing in Indonesia and i figured the reason why is because vinegar based hot sauce arnt popular in asia and the buffalo sauce specifically requires frank's red hot sauce. What i ended up doing was making my own frank's red hot sauce copycat and made my own damn wings.
I remember being in Mexico and I stopped at this little food stand and I had ordered boneless buffalo wings, when I got my order and took a bite I was instantly confused, it was literally a chicken nugget covered in ketchup, I asked the guy if he had gotten my order wrong and he legit told me those were the boneless buffalo wings, I was speechless.
What we do is order them un sauced and we sauce them when they get to the house. That way they are crispy still and we get exactly what we want ... Also if you want the perfect buffalo sauce just mix a quarter stick of butter with a half bottle of Frank's and you have a good sauce. The more butter you cut into the sauce the less spicy they are. As for ranch Wingstop ranch is my favorite and if you like that. All they use is the hidden valley buttermilk ranch mix. Male it exactly how it says in the box except use 2 packs for 1 batch. Buttermilk is they key Ingredient for the perfect ranch.

I 100% understand your feelings towards Buffalo wings Ben. They just HAVE to be right. I have the same problem with Swiss cheese fondue. It's not an effin Swiss cheese fondue if you just melt any type of cheese. You either make a "moitié/moitié" (Vacherin fribourgeois and Gruyère) or completely make it out of Appenzeller cheese. Add white wine and entire garlic gloves, nutmeg, pepper and Maizena (cornstarch). Some people also add alcohol to it (Kirsch), I personally don't. ANY OTHER CHEESE does not work for a Swiss cheese fondue. As you can see, I'm triggered too haha
