IMO, the most British-sounding North-American group, within the NWOATHM scope. When I bought Burst into Flames and laid it down on the turntable, I felt I was in the presence of an artifact made by talented time travellers. This album more than does it justice, inasmuch it consolidates what is already a legacy in contemporary melodic Heavy Metal. Thank the Gods for the haunting...
actually it's NWOTAHM, just to put it in due grammatically correct order.
Just bought Burst into flame on vinyl recently, ...and now this? It's a USTHM legacy that's been made with bands like HAUNT, TRAVELER, VISIGOTH or STRIKER, amidst many many others. It seems they are all after the Great Lost Seal of USM that lies hidden in the airwaves across the country, which belonged to Cirith Ungol, Riot, Liege Lord, Manilla Road, Omen, among many other glories battered and scarred, many, many moons ago. But now is now. What a Haunting band!
Trevor Church is a damn work horse, and somehow, it hasn’t seemed to water the material down. Incredible. Even Beastmaker’s last EP Eye of the Storm was phenomenal.
Also glad you mentioned Traveler. I recently found them as well thanks to these awesome NWOTHM channels. Starbreaker is an instant classic for me. I put it on the same level as Burst Into Flame, which I’ve been listening to daily since it was released.
I’m actually just now getting into this one, but I love the first 4 or 5 songs right away on first listen.
Not that it's of any real significance, but both Striker and Traveler are Canadian (well Traveler is 4/5 Canadian). But still, Haunt rules!

I don't know how Trevor William Church manages to find the time to release such good music with both Haunt and Beastmaker at such a rapid pace. Glad that he does though because it's always great.

Damn this album is awesome. I found Burst Into Flames last summer and have been rocking the hell out of that album. I had no idea they relased the Mosaic EP over new years, and then had this new album in the works.

fucking Haunt never disappoints me, it's so freaking good
I like how a lot of Haunt's songs almost sound like some kind of customized/metalized post-hardcore or alternative-rock hit songs to my ears. "Cosmic church" has a little Samiam feeling, and even TWC's voice reminds me a lot of an old forgotten band I liked in this genre. Only the proof good songs are just good songs whatever the style the writers "chose" to shape them.

I think there have been a couple channels that came out introducing people to new stuff at a high rate of uploading, with links and information and such, oftentimes with the blessings of the bands themselves. So it's kind of caught on.

@@TheHellasworld it's not just NWOBHM sounding bands....... this movement has all sorts of bands which resemble the classic metal...... it's everything from classic Power Metal, Speed Metal, american-styled 80's Heavy Metal, some bands even sound very Thrash..... band called Dream Troll for instance are very progressive, so their main influences most lilkely come from groups such as Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Crimson Glory etc.....

@@AdanDeluxeXD No es lo que aprendi. Judas, Sabbath, Accept, Maiden son metal clásico y no se volvían repetitivos de un álbum a otro. Me encanta la vuelta de lo clásico, pero no soy del tipo de fan que encuentra toooooodooooo bueno.
