1:39 no ludi sweden has a naval doctrine you just need to do missions
Ludi: *Doesn't take the burghers' offer of 10 galleys*
Also Ludi when he loses the naval battle: *Surprised Pikachu face*
very accurate this xD
There was an encounter in the Middle Ages (I dont remember the year) between a Spanish bishop and a Swedish one in like Avignon or something because the Swedes wanted to claim that they are the descendants of the Goths with the Gotland and Ostergotland toponyms as evidence, and the Spanish bishop responded that the Swedes are the descendants of the slothful Goths that stayed there, while the Spanish are the descendants of the entreprising Goths that migrated and created powerful kingdoms, pretty funny to be honest.
It was certainly true during the Visigothic kingdom of Spain before the Arab conquest, where basically a Germanic elite ruled over the Spanish natives, not unlike France at the time to tell the truth, however at the time this conversation took place, probably in the high Middle Ages, the Spanish elite that was not under Muslim rule had gone native a long time ago, with nothing to remember the Visogothic period, and a lot of influence from the Crusades, in many ways, the Spanish conquerors were the true descendants of the Crusaders, both in attitude and spirit, as well as deeds.
I always go for a protestant, HRE vassal swarm sweden (and scandinavia)if possible, if not possible i go for expansion in russia, full Baltic and North Sea hegemon, sometimes both combined but then it had to be an easy league war
Vasa (the ship) Sank in 1628, salvaged in 1961. Can highly recommend a visit to the museum where it is kept
I am incredibly scared of heigts so that shit freaks me out every time i go
Hey just wanted to point out out theres a swedish mission that reduces the sami land's local autonomy to zero. You need to own all the sami provinces , have them all be following the same faith and develop them by 2 or 3 points and accept the culture. It unlocks more of the mission tree anyway so i usually go for that.
Not having rebel progress in sidebar and not sorting provinces in the autonomy reduction menu is WILD 😂
Holy fuck, last time I was this early Rohan still held the Westfold
And holy shit, I even beat the discord notification
Norse me Ludi, shkipidipumpius maximus!
Great video Ludi, I've got a question. How many loans did you end up with here? How did you end up paying them off? Is expanding this fast the key to recovering?
I didn't have many loans tbh, I used the burgher loans, I looted a ton when at war and took max ducats from each war, so warfare fueled my economy for the 1st bit while the country didn't have much dev/eco output
@@LudietHistoria then I should probably try taking less territory and taking more gold next time I try Sweden. Thanks!
"Speaking of a bad british accent, this save will be available on Patreon."
Ludi, master of the segue
Nhorse me baby now give me another world conquest 🎉
"Norse me baby..."
Norse me baby.
from a norwegian guy ^^
havent had a propper sweden run in a few years, might need to have another go at it
Norse me Baby! Gimme that Norse empire video Ludi!
One fun thing I did was play as Sweden and shift to Prussia after getting all the juicy permanent modifiers. I got to keep my carolean units and their estate privileges. Space Marines anyone?
Yeah, Latvian and Lituanian is the language of the ancients (oldest surviving european branch of the indo-european language group), while Estonian is basicly weird Finnish.
norse us ludi, cover us in norse
Does Iceland get unique missions when they form Scandinavia?
Do it for Juicy Smolie! Norse resurgence for Juicy!
What happened to Norse empire? Norseme please.
Can someone tell how to become norse easy way and without random factors :D
I have like 2.5k with EU and after conquering lands i always reduce corruption to not gain corruption and i loose the money, but i saw you are not doing it. May i ask why?
i leave the corruption slider around 20%. I only massively reduce corruption when it reaches 3%, not before
@@LudietHistoria ok, thanks for your reply.
norse me baby!
NORSE ME BABY!!!!
Sweden is the defintion of shmorp
Norse me baby ^^
North me baby!
Norse me baby one more time
Norse me babyyyy
Margrethe, not Magdelena if my hearing isnt wrong .. oh and Norse Me Baby .. with love from Denmark
Norse me Baby and I love Sweden, Paradox and can't forget, Ludi's videos/streams
edit: My typical Swedish run is pretty much historical, just dominate the baltic sea, and to destroy Muscovy after I've taken the city of Novgorod before they do
Norse me Babyyy
Getting the copper mine developed and upgraded soon will be great because you can eventually create a monopoly event (through the mission tree I believe) that will allow you to just rake in ducats for the next 50 years by causing copper to be near 8 ducats.
I came here just to say that. So powerful. My monopoly got the price of cooper to 9 ducats! And the falun mine gives dalaskogen a prod revenue of like 30 per month, which is crazy. So fun lol
As Sweden i like doing triple rome, while culture shifting to novgorodian, to gain a total of +100% infantry combatability
Watched your video with my 4.6 year old son, he laughed so much every time "you do your ludi things" dunno how to express it :P All the best!
Yucky. Köttbull is for removing, not playing
Ludi u could've called the muscovites into the war with Novgorod and then peace out, that would've given them the same length truce as u
not only that but i could have called them in a separate livonian war too with the same effect...i kinda fucked that up
Feel like my holy horde Teutons --> Poland --> Mongol empire with 115% cav combat all horse armies with 83% cost reduction is the stronkest armies in EU4. :D
My problem with playing Sweden is always the same: I just have to recreate the Swedish empire. So map doesn't look right if I conquer whole Denmark, Norway or Novgorod. So I made Novogorod my March and donated her lands from Norway and I made another vassal in Danish lands. And then conquered parts from africa and India. Map has to be pretty, you know.😂
34:18 "bachschlussen" = bohuslän... yeah ok ludi, you do you 🤐
Sweden was never known for their navy, and they more or less lost all naval encounters against Denmark. But somehow boots on the ground means more than boots on wooden planks.
I pretty much always go the HRE path when i do Sweden, im just a huge slut for revoking the privilege so any path that lets me do that is a path for me.
hello ludi can you make a video about speed running to become hegemon?
Ludi, look up amazing story how one of the Napoleon’s generals became a king of Sweden, really cool story
“Marshal”, and he betrayed Napoleon (kind of)
@@georgewu4051 he didn't tho, napoleon allowed him to take the swedish throne even when bernadotte said he would act in the intrests of sweden
@@hologaming6163 hence, "kind of". It was in Napoleon's interest to let him, a french marshal first and foremost, to become the swedish king, in hope that even when it comes to it, Sweden will remain neutral. its true he did not promise anything, but what he did (joining the coalition) was definitely not in Napoleon's favor. He could've easily sat it out. Sometimes doing something against, and not doing something for has a big difference.
Ludi i started watching your videos for the tips and tricks you provide us but ive stayed and have become a faithful watcher because i love history and really love that you explain history through your playthroughs. Really enjoy your content and appreciate everything you do, i wish you the best for you and your loved ones.
Magdalena? It's Margrete.
I feel like we should probably change the joke to "Spain is overpowered" now that EUIV is developed in Barcelona.
If I recall correctly, the Vasa sank because it was too heavy and hit the sandbar at the mouth of the Stockholm harbor.
No, it sank because the construction plan was altered many times after the original shipwright died so they ended up building two gundecks on a hull designed for one. I didn't hit anything at all, it was knocked over by a strong gust of wind. It sank in a fairly deep part of the harbour which is why it's so well preserved. If it had hit anything then they had access to the wreck and salvaged it directly after the accident.
@@danvernier198 Thanks for more details!
*norse me baby one more time* 🎶
Yes perfect timing! I’m watching this as I go home
Sweden < Prussia. Obviously.
NORSE ME BABY!!!
Sweden had one of the most impressive armies of this period, and defeated much larger armies with it. Having read the biografi of Alexander suvorov, im pretty sure he molded much of his military doctine on Sweden's armies, epasising cold steel and shock. Alexander Suvorov had a long military carrier in the Russian army, and was undefeated, The Russian troops under his command was at it's finest through all of Russia's history. Charles XII achived great victories with his army, but he was also the cause of it's downfall. Just the shear stupidity of attacking at Poltava, it also reflects how impressive these soldiers were, that they would march on and attack against such odds, and that the Russians were on the defensive against a much smaller army.
Love the history stuff
I still wonder why SWEDEN has THE STRONGEST ARMIES in eu4.
43:17 Copper creates more Leather cannons
Je souhaiterais que tu suives la voie des Norses!
I love you!!
NORSE ME BABYYYYYYYY
Edit to add: Also love the historical intros Ludi!!
Swedes, when Poltava stars speaking Russian: *scream, but in Swedish*
They hardcoded the kings we had. If they had been as SMART as they were GREAT the world would be speaking Swedish right now and nobody would have heard of the painter Adolf H.
Also Norge and Sverige loves eachothers like twin brothers. ALWAYS a fist in the others hair when alone, but anyone else comes knocking then we got each others backs!
Dude, this all started 6 years ago as an entitled kid rebeled againts his dad.
About 3 years ago everyone wanted a piece of me since they could figure out what a fuck is wrong with me
About a year or so(October 2022 to be more precise(i checked)) you fuckers joined in
And now, February 2024, im being bullied on a biggest podcast in the world😂
When I play sweden mostly conquer Russian and eastern European lands. Sometimes go for HRE as well.
Other times I go more colonial and take England on the way. Usually do this whenever I win Burgundian heritage.
The Caroleans aren’t worth ti. The bugs are minuscule and have an absurdly high bar to entry that even costs you a government reform and by the time you get then you literally have to have already accomplished everything Sweden ever wanted so it’s dumb. This game has become HOI, completely ungrounded imperialist fanfiction
I need your help: I'm looking for the title of the song in background that starts to play at 29:04. Please, are several months that I'm searching for it and I'm going crazy. Thanks in advance to anyone who will be able to help me.
I will not under any circumstances comment, "NORSE ME BABY." wait...
norse me baby one more time 🎶
For real, Nordic Empire sounds like an awesome run! Pity you aren't doing this as Norway or Denmark, then you can get a mission to core England and form the North Sea Empire.
41:10 LUDI, I told you it was pronounced Newfunland and you replied to me, jk it is not a big deal.
I would bet that Paradox it's an swedish company, but sure I'm crazy to think this
I actually liked your jokes this time... what does that tell about me?
Anyway: Norse me baby
random country exists... Ludi: This is why "random country" is OP 😂
I think this Norse line is ahistorical. Like Zoroastrian Persia. These are things better left to less history focused games or mods.
Living in Turku (Åbo) and watching Ludi deleting our castle. :(
Ludi please make the like goal a little bit less please :,( and NORSE ME BABY
I just had the worst rng ever on Sweden in my campaign - 80% of events are bad I swear
Norse me baby.
Ludi please finish the French HRE run!
As a no dlc player, Sweden is so much harder.
I don't have lions of the north so I can sympathize
Norse me baby 😩
Norse me baby, come more videos. I was perfect sleep on this part videos)
norse me baby!
I cant call my allies to the war against Denmark, why is this happening?
Denmark better..
To be fair. The caroleans, the tactics... was overpowered.
Norse me bay and kinda wana seee how you do get norse without safe scumming
Can’t wait for part 2 🙏, been checking in every day since you released this part
Norse baby can become horse baby in ck2 and that's why it's better than 3
Calling Jemtland Swedish land... It was stolen smh!

NORSE ME BABY
40:58 yoooo wtf? You just threw away 50 adm points!!!!
Jesus Ludi... looking thin and fit!!! 🤌
Please don’t make us wait weeks for the next episode!!
My swedish runs ? Gotlandish of course.
20:21 Why does Ludi think that his viewers are Indians?
On the subject of the Goths, the Celts were all over the bloody place- Gauls, Gaels, Britons, Celtiberians, Galatians and Gallatians were all celtic subgroups, and were all over the place from the British Isles in the north, Iberia in the south and Anatolia in the east.
norsemebaby
Norse me baby
Can’t wait for the 2nd part
It really hurts me that you pronounce everything wrong in Swedish
Jemtland is NORWEGIAN
