This is my favorite vocal era of hers. It has the right amount of thickness, a sneaky growl, and massive amounts of vibrato. And her tone this era is at its finest in my honest opinion.

I listened to this for the first time this evening, I'm sad. I think it was auto tuned. Listen to the jump at 1:36 to 1:38. I'm guessing this was around the same time her voice started to falter because of her life choices. A few times she sounds breathless. Makes me sad.

Yeah, but that transition doesn't sound like the graceful, all-powerful Whitney Houston of yore; it sounds abrupt, like she cleared her throat or something; you see Mariah Carey acting the same way now when she cant hit her trademark whistle notes anymore. My Mom and I talked about this song/video when it first came out. I can clearly recall her saying she really liked Whitney's skirt. My Mother was never in a box regarding her clothing. She would've definitely rocked that skirt if she had it. Miss and Love you much, Mommy. A black leather wrap skirt didn't threaten you. Terrifies me, but that's why you're the Mother and I'm the Daughter. Rest in Peace, Lady.

I am shook! The title popped into my head and just watched this. I'm feeling like this was her zenith moment, in terms of performance. She's astounding. .("the highest point reached in the heavens by a celestial body")
I'm asking you, big fans of hers, was this her most fabulous performance?
