Mayor Gloria Announces Historic Plan to Create City’s Largest Homeless Shelter

  • SAN DIEGO - Building on his already significant efforts to address homelessness in the City of San Diego, Mayor Todd Gloria today unveiled a plan to establish the City’s largest-ever long-term shelter for people experiencing homelessness with the capacity to get 1,000 people off the street and connected to services. As part of this announcement, Mayor Gloria also provided an update on the City’s plan for the H Barracks site near the San Diego International Airport.

    I don't think u should do that.
    I think you should fire all of the current social workers, and hire based upon actual, viable criteria, allowing the workers to regain a lower level of their current employment once their educational regimen is completely and successfully attain. I also think that local, environmental aspects should NOT AT ALL be overlooked, Should be a required aspect, and that the traveler's aid society deserves public aid in rehabilitation their facility program/localized non-profit, as well as the American Red Cross Disaster Services, to redirect and redistribute the "human population" instability both social sectors have inadvertantly contributed to the localized homeless situation, including the workforce and behavioural health services.

    You don't need more shelters you need permanent affordable housing. Is this for American citizens or illegal immigrants?
