We can do without the car problems of the ‘50’s and ‘60’s, but how about bringing back the (12:56) miniskirt? 👍 The Subaru looks a lot like a Fiat 500.
Another feature that is nonexistent is more frivolous. In the mid 50,'s, some cars including upper level Buicks, had Kleenex dispenser s that swung out from below the dash on the front passenger side.
The pop-out windshield and padded dash is no longer needed as airbags prevent you from flying forward in a collision. Back in the 1960s 55,000 Americans lost their lives in auto accidents every year, last year it was 42,000, yet the population has doubled with the crash rate per 100,000 falling to it's lowest level yet. It's also interesting to note that New York with 12 million drivers in 2023 has the lowest rate per 100,000 drivers at 5.5! Some states with a third of the population have twice the rate as New York. Why? Lower use of seat belts might be one reason and less police supervision could be another reason?
Wasn't so much the pushbuttons them selfs as it was the location. Many a transmission gave its life. Because of people looking for the horn in emergencies. And saying Hi! To the neighbors. The one that I would like to see come back would be. The floor vents that were in the kick panels. By your feet. With today's four-door pickups. And the sliding rear window, Can you just imagine the breeze?
Early Saturn cars had automatic seatbelts. I had a 1970 Chevy that had shoulder belts and seat belts but they were not fastened together so most times I never used the shoulder belts because they were anchored to the car’s roof rather than integrated with the seatbelts. 😮
Back in July 6th I was in Lima Ohio I Had a Beautiful 93 Ranger XL Pu as person blows a Stop sign at a high speed hits me and my passage we Both had seat belts we Rolled Was thankful for No Air Bags And Above all it was American MADE AND They drove away Very Thankful to Lima OHIO POLICE they found them as Well No insurance and put in jail Got out on 1500 dollars bond Glad my insurance covered the medical But Not my Ranger Pu One more loss But Happy to be alive And I'll Only Drive American Made as well Thankful for my Ford and Miss it Daily More As the True American steel Saved my Life and Passager and being on Social Security it's Going to take a while to find Another one and hope I can
In Australia we never got that automatic seat belt the governments just past a law that made seat belt wearing legal as for the fibre glass roof the Citroen DS had a fibre glass roof
A water-filled bumper would protect a car by shattering in a controlled manner when a collision occurs. A weak point engineered into the bumper fails and the water squirts out, consuming collision energy. The Devil is always in the details, in this case the calculations of speed, force etc. in a collision scenario may give poor results. A car would have to haul a barrel of water on its bumper to get any real protection.

I've gotta say, the Neck Set Belt is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Who could possibly think that was a good idea.
You might if you were a hangman. You could hang yourselves with the shoulder belt.
Apparently the Big Three and hundreds of engineers thought it was a WONDERFUL idea!!
The three or four point racing belts will always be the best!
They saved my life many times!!
Also, The Side Mini Swing Window! Which was replaced by Dashboard Vents and AC Units!
Yes, vent windows could have made the list.
I love the vent window.

11:11 The Subaru 360 was not Japan's first mass-produced automobile, the 360 did not have a 356 cubic inch engine
"356 cubic inches"! I think you mean cubic centimetres!
yup it's a 5.8 liter 2-stroke air cooled 2 cylinder in-line engine 🤣🤣🤣
"Neck" seat belt is the definite Darwin award!
The neck belt COULD choke Adults/ Children/ or possibly the dog!!
A fiberglass roof was a feature of the Ciroen DS for is entire production, starting in 1955....
My new then 1994 Nissan Maxima had automatic seat belts where the lap and shoulder belt were one piece and worked really well . Nice car .

The A.I. running this video doesn't seem to know the difference between "pop-out" windshields, and windshields which simply open.

Never heard of a neck seatbelt.
