Thank you for your honest answer! Most of the tutorials have been lying to us so I appreciate this. I don’t like it but there’s nothing I can do about it! I hate this dishwasher. Ugh!!!
Some appliances can dry the dishes pretty well. They do it by heating the dishes up in the last rinse with hot water and then using fans and vents to dry the dishes by convection. Some pop the dishwasher open to let the steam out. Some GE models have an ultra dry feature that even get the tops of plastics dry. The downsides: 1) It takes a lot longer. It’s okay by me because I wash dishes when I go to bed. 2) The GE Cafe line has a bad habit of piddling on the floor. There’s a vent near the floor and water comes out on the Ultra-dry mode. It’s not a lot. I leave a small microfiber cloth down there. GE says the washer should condense the water down the inside of the door of the dishwasher, but I get water.
I kind of figured this was the case with our new Bosch dishwasher when the dishes never dried. However it’s the best cleaning dishwasher we’ve ever had and you barely hear it when you’re standing next to it. We just prop the door open and pull the top shelf out a little when it’s done
yeah, it's a bummer. We just installed ours last night and I already miss my old one, lol. It was still working great, just did not go well with our remodeled kitchen and new appliances. Wondering if the moisture now will cause foul smells and mold.
Thank God for y’all answering this bc I know nothing about dishwashers and always wondered why they never seem to dry… we def will load them at an angle moving forward and dumb energy star ratings making things less convenient.
That stinks, but thank you for explaining. I bought the Samsung that pops open at the end of each cycle to help with drying. Now they need to lower these prices!
No amount of heat is going to evaporate the water out of the deep crevices found on plastic containers. And even if it did, it would just be drying up the dirty cruddy water and would leave residue. And rinse aid won’t solve that either. Dishwashers should have fans to blow the water out of the crevices so that then can dry more effectively. I always end up having to dump the water out of my contains and the tops of my cups and glasses during the drying cycle even though they are angled.
So, bottom line, dishwashers work like crap now, they don’t dry ur dishes, u have to take them out and dry them yourself. i just found this out w my new LG dishwasher. It is always wet inside. I’m sorry I bought it, but thank you for the explanation, appreciate the info, cuz they sure don’t tell u this when u buy it.
I'm all for being energy efficient until it impacts my life in a negative way. Sometimes things are taken too far. Absolutely ridiculous. If people really wanted to save energy they'd just switch to manually washing your dishes and eliminate the manufacture of dishwashers! Dishwashers are one of thee most expensive appliances to run in a house. And while all these "green" freaks are at it, they better be washing their clothes by hand and drying them on a clothes line! And they better be using that dang lawnmower like Beaver use to use when they cutting their grass! And they better not be driving no Tesla that uses twice the amount of precious metals and petroleum to produce and maintain the stupid things than a good old gas engine does it's entire life! Dad blame it! So fed up with these knuckleheads! Ugh!
Yup, this ranks right up there with the low flush toilets they made us all get some years back, which have since been eliminated because they didn’t flush worth a crap (pardon the pun). I HATE my new LG dishwasher.
Energy Star SUCKS. Give me back the heating element. Forget climate control just expand the grid with more nuclear & gas generated power plants. Forget solar and wind
Finally and answer to explain to my wife why the brand new dishwasher doesn't dry. Thanks for the help. But man that sucks!
Thanks for a great explanation. If we would have known this, we would have kept our old dishwasher!

....Great Dishwasher Video for South Carolina Family! Happy 2023
Thanks Keith for actually EXPLAINING why! You are awesome.
Yes and the company's should be ashamed of themselves identifying the "heat/dry" option when it really doesn't dry at all.
I am a service tech and I have a no dry dishwasher call tomorrow. I kind of like the way you explained it I think I will borrow that LOL

Thank you for the information. But I'm wishing I had my old dishwasher now. 😕
Thanks so much for this information. I was getting worried after spending so much…still a bummer but it makes sense.

Great info
Ooohhh so I need the rinse aid
Just ran my first cycle and wondered why they were wet.
This is b*******, I should've kept my old GE dishwasher. That did a perfect job. Now I got a new LG that sucks.
2 days ago I bought a new Bosch Series 8. Stunning machine. Dishes come out real hot and bone dry. I kid you not.
