The kids' meal should have gotten a mention. I remember when they were called Laptops. I preferred them over McDonald's and Wendy's because they came with Fruit by the Foot Roll. Can we get a Kids Meal video?
I am 56 years old and I agree with others, it is not the same. There was no mention of the parfait they sold or the chicken fried steak. I remember when I was in college (mid to late 80s), KFC had a slogan that said "all we do is chicken" and I thought that was funny since they had chicken fried steak on the menu.
In the 1970’s and early 1980’s i loved the super messy “barbecue chicken” and getting the dessert parfaits. The strawberry shortcake one was pretty good. I also liked the corn on the cob a lot. My family often got the barrels of chicken for picnic and family get-togethers.
When I lived in Germany as a kid in the late 80s, my family stumbled across a KFC while on vacation in Bavaria. I remember the original recipe being identical; HOWEVER, they offered RIBS cooked the exact same way as the chicken. They tossed them in BBQ sauce and threw it in a bucket. I was a larger child, so it may be nostalgia, but I never had a better rib. I even live in Kansas City now, the BBQ capitol of the world.
No disrespect to their biscuits when made correctly. Never over-mix your biscuit batter people. It’s supposed to look lumpy, you’re making biscuit projectiles without those lumps. Anyways, I completely forgot about how much I used to love those rolls as a kid.
The Changing to KFC in 1990 had nothing to do with having "fried" in the name, it was due to the State of KY trademarking the word Kentucky and suing any business with that in their name. The state was near Bankrupt and did this as a revenue stream. This also led to the Kentucky Derby changing their name as well.
KFC was the first and only fast food job I had in my life when I was 16...It lasted a whole day, then I never went back. I didn't quit, I just never came back. 🐔👀
That original chicken little was so good, maybe it’s nostalgic for me but in,over them, and they mentioned Trinidad, I’m in miami and people bring kfc back on the plane with them because it’s so good, it’s seasoned differently, it’s spicy, man It’s awesome iinwaish they would offer that version in the states
"Gravy easier for the average employee to make" ...the BASE is an equal flour to butter ratio, and milk. 😒 this was in an era that people still knew how to cook, too...
Didn't know the popcorn chicken came out orginally before I was born. When I got it when it came out in my middle to high school days it was waaaaay better than it is now.
It's funny thast KFC adds have always shown overflowing "buckets" of chicken but when you get home, the small and undersized pieces of baby chickens rest far below the lid and most of the combo special buckets are only thighs and legs. I remember great times in Yakima Washington at a sit down KFC restaurant, but the last time that I ate at one was at United Emirates in 2007 where they had all you can eat days, the only way that you will ever get your money worth from KFC. So surprised they are still in business. They appear to cut chicken breasts in half to count two pieces, Better off to Safeway and you will get twice the chicken. Shameful...but I did love the taste.
I definitely had zinger sandwiches (quite frequently because they were good) from KFC in the late 90s and very early 2000s in the USA. Not sure why you said it only was available since 2017, that's not true, it was definitely there well before then and has popped off and on the menus.
When adjusted for inflation $1.10 in 1955 is equal to $10.73 in 2021. Would you pay $10 for a 3-Piece Meal? (3-piece box is $7.99 currently). Probably paid people a living wage back then... ;)
You missed out on the best KFC product of all time. The Zinger Pire. Zinger chicken ,potato and gravy in a pie. So simple. So awesome. Only been released a few times in Australia
A shame, our local KFC (Southern Indiana) is awful and employees are horrible. Hasn't been the same for many years. When done right this chicken was incredible. The Colonel is rolling over I guarantee it.
I quit going to KFC years ago. The chicken became smaller, the sides are disgusting. In the 70's KFC had barbecue chicken in southern California for a short time which I liked. Now that has been gone for years. The pricing is just plain over the top for what you get there now. Popey's Chicken is the place to go now. In fact in my town KFC went out of business once Popeye's opened up.
So no mention of the BBQ chicken? That was always an option growing up in Jamaica and still is. Also when did the biscuits come on the menu? Also the chicken isn't the same everywhere; in Japan it's like American extra Krispy but with different spices
The shit looked appetizing back then. I remember when they had 3 different crusts “original, crispy, extra crispy” I was pissed when they got rid of the plain crispy. Now the original is too soggy and the extra crispy is nothing but breading.
In the early seventies, a Kentucky Fried Chicken 2pc was $0.99 here in the Bahamas. Now a 2pc, fries biscuit and 22oz soda is a little more than $7. Zingers are also very popular here.🇧🇸🇧🇸🍗🍗🍟
At 67 born in London KY as a little kid my dad took me to eat over in Corbin and growing up in Indy we use to go to the first two KFC franchises the chicken about the same but mashed potatoes and gravy sucks nothing like back in the day late 50's and 60's Just Saying ... Saw a misspelled word so I edited text
It is nothing like it used to be, the flavor is lacking now. They also had chicken fried steaks at mine once a week that were pretty good. After they changed how they cooked their chicken I would only go back for the potato wedges, now that they are gone, I haven't been back and wont be back.
What's your favorite item on the KFC menu?
Those french fries... there so good!!!
imo the DN special
My _LEAST_ favorite menu item at KFC has always been their cole slaw.
Zinger wings and classic burger
Them biscuits
*I bet you cant eat 2 biscuits without a drink*
I grew up on KFC. I'm 56, and that was the only fast food chicken I knew and loved. Sadly, it's not the same anymore.
i still love Kentucky's delicious fried chicken
There mash potatoes and gravy was jumping with the biscuit it’s no red lobster but good but that was around 2000s
It suck. At least around here the quality is so inconsistent.
It’s disgusting now.
Right
I enjoyed it. (suggestion) how bout do one for panda express too.
I’m still mad that they changed the wedges.
Me too! They were better than the fries they have now.
True story the fries suck!
The kids' meal should have gotten a mention. I remember when they were called Laptops. I preferred them over McDonald's and Wendy's because they came with Fruit by the Foot Roll. Can we get a Kids Meal video?
BIG DADDY BOX MEAL GOD I MISS YOU AND YOUR AMAZING PRICES
It broke my heart when they discontinued their parfaits.
Mine too! I can still feel the metal lid pulling back.
Me too i would always get two Lemon parfait's and The hot wings
I miss those Little Bucket Parfaits too.
I loved the little bucket desserts back in the 70's.
Me too!
Parfaits! There was a chocolate eclair type one. My favorite was the strawberry shortcake one. I think there was a lemon too?
I loved the twister, it was a very good wrap
Twister was my favorite I always go to KFC for it. Damn you KFC for removing it from the menu.😢
I am 56 years old and I agree with others, it is not the same. There was no mention of the parfait they sold or the chicken fried steak. I can't believe no mention of that barbeque version from the 70's now that was GOOD!!!!
KFC don't even pressure-cook their chicken no more, they just fry it.
They forget to mention their nuggets in the mid 90s the potato wedges and their original desserts.
I'm actually surprised that you guys didn't mention their bbq chicken sandwiches
Overlooked and under appreciated
They had bbq chicken as one of the three chicken-style choices in the late 1970’s & early 1980’s. You could get original, bbq or extra crispy.
I miss the original chicken littles. My grandpa used to get them by the sack and we ate as much as we wanted.
No disrespect to their biscuits when made correctly. Never over-mix your biscuit batter people. It’s supposed to look lumpy, you’re making biscuit projectiles without those lumps. Anyways, I completely forgot about how much I used to love those rolls as a kid.
How did you forget about the Famous Bowl?
The price of KFC is Too Damn High
The Changing to KFC in 1990 had nothing to do with having "fried" in the name, it was due to the State of KY trademarking the word Kentucky and suing any business with that in their name. The state was near Bankrupt and did this as a revenue stream. This also led to the Kentucky Derby changing their name as well.
This was when KFC was actually good back in the 80's.
KFC was the first and only fast food job I had in my life when I was 16...It lasted a whole day, then I never went back. I didn't quit, I just never came back. 🐔👀
So you quit?
4:24 wowwwww u could get a 15 piece bucket of chicken for 3.95$! That’s crazy 😂
Freakin price inflation 😔
Ya and the minimum wage was only a dollar an hour! ROTFL!!!!
It’s because people had a lot less money back then, so it would probably be equivalent to $10-$20 in today’s money.
@@upbeatproductions7614 Exactly my point. Minimum wage and all...
That $3.95 bucket of chicken would cost $28.00 in 2021. And it is only 12 pieces.
KFC Snackers were my shit when I was a kid, soooo bomb, I was pisssed af when they changed them for the chicken Littles
Bring back Wedge's!!!
"Gravy easier for the average employee to make"
...the BASE is an equal flour to butter ratio, and milk. 😒 this was in an era that people still knew how to cook, too...
Can't beat that 90's spice that came on the menu. 🥵
KFC is pretty much dead to me with the removal of Sweet-N-Tangy dipping sauce, and even worse, potato wedges from their menu.
Didn't know the popcorn chicken came out orginally before I was born. When I got it when it came out in my middle to high school days it was waaaaay better than it is now.
They should bring back the bbq chicken
I actually like the secret fries. But I do miss the wedges.
Georgia Gold was amazing. So sad it's gone!
FUCK...
A 15-piece bucket in the 70s...
for $4!?
I miss the tender roast sandwich
It's funny thast KFC adds have always shown overflowing "buckets" of chicken but when you get home, the small and undersized pieces of baby chickens rest far below the lid and most of the combo special buckets are only thighs and legs. It sucks that the owner of KFC basically never made any money and was homeless most of the time he ran his shop.
They forgot Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning! Truly the best soda EVER!
Now the $ 20.00 bucket of chicken has gone up.
In the 80's I loved their nuggets! I used to think they were on par with McDonald's!
When adjusted for inflation $1.10 in 1955 is equal to $10.73 in 2021. Would you pay $10 for a 3-Piece Meal? (3-piece box is $7.99 currently). Probably paid people a living wage back then... ;)
And fuel cost next to nothing then, so what?
Minimum wage in 1955 was $1.00/hour--which equals about $10.19/ hour in 2021. Median Rent was $42.00/month. In 2021, Median rent is $1,104.
You missed out on the best KFC product of all time. The Zinger Pire. Zinger chicken ,potato and gravy in a pie. So simple. So awesome. Only been released a few times in Australia
Surprising the extra crispy and their gravy are the best things lol. I'd rather have Popeyes but that mash n gravy keeps me buying
A shame, our local KFC (Southern Indiana) is awful and employees are horrible. Hasn't been the same for many years. When done right this chicken was incredible. The Colonel is rolling over I guarantee it.
In Australia they bring out the zinger pie
I miss the Zinger works burger
They need to bring back the three wings and biscuits
I'm 27. When I was 10, KFC was truly best... But now a days... It's so different and greasy
You’re probably just remembering it differently. When you were 10 did you care about the grease? Probably not.
My gosh .... Back then around 80s ??? LoL oils dripping from the box ! LMAO 🤣 now so healthy !
@@BenKempa Dude... It's greasy as F now a days... Quit being a fan girl
@@BenKempa exactly. Nostalgia makes people so blind.
BACK when it was Good :)
So sad that Krushems have gone from the U.K. market....
The Georgia Gold flavor was so good, I was sad when they dropped it
So sad how far KFC has fallen. No where near what I remeber.
Tq atok colonal ...
I like kfc me life and forever 😘 ...
I wish theyd bring back the twister chicken wrap
It's here full time in Australia
In Canada from the 70’s onward, they never did biscuits. They featured a loaf of bread sliced with butter.
They called it butter Grecian bread ?
I quit going to KFC years ago. The chicken became smaller, the sides are disgusting. In the 70's KFC had barbecue chicken in southern California for a short time which I liked. It was in NoCal, Oregon, & SW Washington too. Dunno about the rest of WA. I LOVED it. So messy but the sauce was good and the chicken… so juicy.
In south africa we have oreo krushers and "very berry"
John Wayne Gacy was a franchisee in the 70s, I think in Illinois
Waterloo, Iowa
What other kind of food could a customer order if they don’t like cabbage.
So no mention of the BBQ chicken? That was always an option growing up in Jamaica and still is. Also when did the biscuits come on the menu? Also the chicken isn't the same everywhere; in Japan it's like American extra Krispy but with different spices
They need to create a "Fucket Bucket".
The shit looked appetizing back then. I remember when they had 3 different crusts “original, crispy, extra crispy” I was pissed when they got rid of the plain crispy. Now the original is too soggy and the extra crispy is nothing but breading.
I remember how good it used to smell. You knew they were somewhere a mile away.
KFC has REALLY dropped the ball since then.
We've always had fries up here in Canada, the wedges didn't last long.
So, no mention of when spicy was added or when they changed the original? What about the candy apple wings?
Bring back the chicken stacker sandwich
In the early seventies, a Kentucky Fried Chicken 2pc was $0.99 here in the Bahamas. Now a 2pc, fries biscuit and 22oz soda is a little more than $7. Zingers are also very popular here.🇧🇸🇧🇸🍗🍗🍟
i miss the snacker so much omg
Back in the day you could get the best breaded livers & gizzards.
This is actually the time when KFC was really worth buying especially the spicy chicken tenders! Now KFC is no longer the same smh 🤦♀️😔
Colonel Sanders has a very Asian look, especially his eyes.
Wow those prices
Bring back Crispy Strips! Australia 🥺
KFC is great, always hot cooked very well.great color, and the inside of the chicken too.
I wished they still had fruit and potato salad.
No wonder why the USSR had meat shields during ww2 xd
Yeah, they cancelled the Krusher here is Australia, and now the only dessert they offer are Pepsi soft drinks, ie nothing much at all!
When Sanders sold KFC nose dived on quality.
It's really a black woman who invented the recipe, not Sanders he stole it from her and claimed it his own.
The green beans at KFC are pretty decent. Everything else not so much.
Bring back the double down!
Damn that's good
I like KFC.
KFC was emphasised because of Kentucky Law about the word Kentucky the fried is just a side issue.
Need the double down back
It is nothing like it used to be, the flavor is lacking now. They also had chicken fried steaks at mine once a week that were pretty good. After they changed how they cooked their chicken I would only go back for the potato wedges, now that they are gone, I haven't been back and wont be back.
Roll to 2021 and has nz kfc put their chickens on a diet
The Snacker is the SHHIIIIITTTTT!
Wait did they really get rid of the Nashville hot sauce tenders??
The zinger is the best
Roy Rogers, or Kenny Rogers?
KFC is not the same since franchise took over
I've stopped buying it
Lemon parfait hot wings
Man, I miss the old popcorn chicken. It had a nice spicy kick to it! Now they just got those bitch ass popcorn stupid ass nuggets.
I'd like a dollar for every time she says chicken
I love KFC, but none of my family can eat it.
That aint got nothing to do with you 😂
