Listening to this reminds me of being 10 years old listening to aus vs Windies in the old mans kingswood while fishing on the beach back in the 80's. The Windies were heavyweights and it was great watching the fighting aussies take it to them. Ah the good old days 😂

AB would have been a good bowler, if he had taken it seriously. Watching this video, most of the wicket taking deliveries appear to be good ones and there was spin and bounce too. Great fielder and of course a top class batsman. Fantastic cricketer who revived Aus cricket in the mid 80s and beyond.

Amazing Alan. He really did set up Australia’s dominance for the next decade.

Only man to make two hundreds in same Test and take a 10 wicket hall in a Test (not same match).

What this doesn't show is that just about every over he bowled there were a couple of near misses, he was just unplayable on this wicket, the SCG was the only place Australia could win back then. Other than this one match he went for over 50 runs per wicket over a 16 year career, mostly he just bowled a few overs to give the other bowlers a rest before the new ball.

No he wasn't, but no DRS in those days. We forget why DRS was brought in - umpiring howlers were absolutely rife.
