You have no clue what you're talking about. She loves her job and gets taken care of very well. I guess I should just turn her loose and let her starve.
Your sheep look great, and it looks like all the dogs are coming along well. Last night I was out listening to the coyotes howling, then the neighbors kangal and my girls started barking back, the coyotes had nothing more to say. Can't wait to see all the lambs in may. Have a wonderful weekend.
So nice to see puppies. Also so Glad you've been able to sell all of them that you wanted/needed to. Flock looks great. Some even look like starting to lose hair. Can't wait to see Lambs. God Bless and Peace Be With You All
"That's kind of a pretty sight isn't it." Nah Greg that heavenly scene is just terrible to look at...lol. Quite a life my friend, it's easy to see why you always seem to be a wellspring of exuberance. Those sheep and dogs look just beautiful. I think I see Ben and Isaac's influence on those dogs, lol. It's cool to see them all working so well together and the dogs more friendly demeanor is good for their well being I think. I'm always excited to go spend time with my dogs and sheep, it sure makes life more enjoyable when you love what you do.
One of my neighbors up the road had sheep several years back. He had one guardian dog, but one wasn't enough the sheep and the dog got tore up by roaming dogs. He ended up giving all survivors away. I want sheep but do worry about packs of roaming dogs and coyotes. I have seen one eagle as well a year ago. So many predators you have to convince to go elsewhere for a meal.
@Barack Obama I wouldn't mess with them. I knew they were protected. Most birds of prey tend to be opportunistic and kinda lazy hunters, it's why having big dogs amongst your livestock is a nice deterrent. Heck even if you just follow them on the ground and stare at them they tend to do a few circles overhead then leave.
I would imagine those pups are getting to the age where they might start to wander out on the road-have to get the drags out. I like easy to train dogs and good genetics helps a lot with that-nothing wrong with a workin dog thats a little stand-offish.
What they don't tell you about these kinds of dogs is they actually make superb guard dogs for your house. Naturals at it. Very calm and sweet until they get a reason to. I have Kangals and a Central Asian shepherd. They are better natural guard dogs than German shepherds are. German shephers are easier to train to be a normal dog and do obedience. But those LGDs have a lot going for them as dogs.
My first thought is she looking for attention from you or more interested in posing for the Camera! A bit of sibling rivalry going on big brother mind your step don't ask for trouble you will find it little sisters are experienced and know what to do! It's great that you have some dessert for the Momas and Pops . I wish you a great day and I give you my thanks for the tour🤔💖🤭🖖👍🖖👍🖖👍🖖😇🙋🏼♀️
To be honest whenever you have the time you should forgo just giving your dog food in a bowl and train obedience with them while using their dinner as a reward.
That's awsome to see. We appreciate the video. Do your sheep run the same lots that the cows do? How long do you give them on an off the particular paddock?
Lovely video, Mr Judy. I was wondering, we had a Scottish Collie when young. She guarded our chickens and us kids when we went on our rambles. She was a beauty but had to clip her coat during some hot (UK) summers as she got too hot and distressed running around in the heat. Do you clip your GDs in your summers? Best wishes. 🇬🇧
I have a question what would make guardian dogs kill the sheep their supposed to protect ? I had a lady tell me that when she got some donkeys from me to replace the dogs for protection animals. Is it training ,genetics or other.
Are coyotes a problrm in Missouri? Do you ever need to thin the coyotes? Also, what about ferel hogs in your area....any concerns destrying your fields? Thanks Greg.
No he never has to kill coyotes that’s a not a good idea. Sheep are predator magnets especially during lambing coyotes, neighbors dogs, Eagles, Large owls, foxes, humans, etc.. sheep are very helpless animals they’ll just stand there and get slaughtered. The goal is to have enough dogs to where a pack of whatever your local predators are won’t dare risk the fight for a quick meal. He doesn’t have any feral hogs in his area.
so you don't fool around with moving around a 16-mineral feeder or anything, I thought I heard you briefly mention a lick towards the end, what do you do re: minerals (other than moving)?
Hi Greg, I have a 16 week old Great Pyrenees. He lived with sheep and cows the first 12 weeks and how we have him with sheep. He was pet a lot before we got him and I pet him a lot this last month. He lives with the sheep in their corral but when we graze them open range the dog stays with me and not the sheep. Is he too bonded to humans? If so, what can I do to teach him to stay with the sheep while we are open grazing? Thank you.
How can I get one of these dogs? I had one and she was the best dog. Mine was reddish with white and a beautiful tail. Her name was Ginger. I'd like another girl. We had her all my kids lives until they graduated HS and then she disappeared and we never saw her again. We were heartbroken. We always wonder what happened to her. They day she went missing we all saw her in the morning basking in the sun. Let me know how I can get one. I've not ever seen another like her. Thanx.
Hello there. I enjoy your videos. I am a new subscriber from Gold Shaw Farm. I have a question regarding the dog breeds that you have. What kind of breed are the big spotted dogs? Thank you in advance!
Is it possible to have livestock guardian dogs work with cattle I’m thinking brood cows protecting calves from coyotes in remote areas? Thank you for any responses
My neighbor has a kangal that rome's the neighborhood, but when they are calving she stays with the cattle, her owner told me that she will even bark at any bird flying over the pasture.
Man that last video special I felt cheated not able to watch it in a I Max theater it seems like it was made for a movie screen my TV didn’t do it justice go ahead regenerative rancher improving Mother Earth four huffs at a time
I remember when I was a kid, my Uncle Doty had a lot of problems with wild dogs, too. I can remember him coming for Dad & my oldest brother to form a hunting party to shoot those wild dogs.

Our pup we got off you is just doing great. She bonded onto the sheep instantly and is so good natured. We just love her.

Aaron love your good common sense. Ignore the haters.
These dogs are living good life!
Sweep puppy. All sheep need are sunshine and clean green pastures. Sounds like good advice for people too. Thanks for the video Greg.
Love to see this
I enjoy watching them, as they get moved into a Fresh Field !

That's a post card view, Greg. Maybe you work on a 12 month calendar for next year.

Nothing better than hanging out with your animals while everyone chills and eats together.
Thanks Greg, the info helping a lot with our beginning flock of 27 head. 2 mos to lambing looking forward to baby lambs

I tried to borrow a bunch of sheep to start my flock but it didn't work out because the I owe ewes were killing me.
IOUs. 😖🙄🤣🤣🤣

At 9:44, there is a patch of erosion/bare soil... You may want to drag some hay across it...
I would like to try a feuw sheep.
Dogs look tame but I’m sure no predators want to test them
Nope! Those are some big dogs 120+ pounds

I would think the Alfa is what you want to breed but your best forward but you are the expert love your channel

Killing sheep can be inferior genetics or just not trained properly when young.

Our offer on 40 acres of undeveloped land was accepted yesterday in Reynolds county. We want to fence for sheep should we go with woven?
He has a lot of videos on fencing you gotta dig em up tho.

Greg do you think wormy sheep draw in predators?
If predators get a taste of sheep, they will kill healthy ones or whatever is available.
😁👌👍✌🖖 😎
what breed are these dogs?
do farm does have to live outside ?
That is what guardian dogs have been doing for 1000's of years.
Do you have any female guardians for sale?
Man that last video special I felt cheated not able to watch it in a I Max theater it seems like it was made for a movie screen my TV didn’t do it justice go ahead regenerative rancher improving Mother Earth four huffs at a time
Too bad all the pups are spoken for, I had my eye on the one you were petting in the beginning of the video.....=(
