I have a 2016 4Runner with a 3rd row seats. Do you offer the same sub for my model as you do for a regular 2 row model? If not, how much smaller is the subwoofer for the 3rd row model? Do you have any pictures of your sub installed in a 3 row 4Runner? Also, what brand and model of the amplifier and speakers are used in the system? I want to look at the specs before making a decision to purchase your system.
Andrew Evanoff Yes! We have a solution made specifically for your 3-Row Seating. The following link will provide images of our 3-Row Subwoofer attached for your consideration. This System is available for either the passenger or driver side of cargo area or both (Dual). As you’ll see the design is specifically to be stealth with seamless fitment and fully functional (maintaining all functionality, outlets, etc…) You’ll find the Reference 500 with 3-Row Configuration Page here: bit.ly/Config_4RN3
Can you not make a box that goes in the open area of the right hand side? That is wide, open space in that pocket, where as you're taking up some cargo room by putting the sub on the left side? That's the only thing that's making me hesitant right now.
Thank you for expressing your preference! Truly we strive to personalize EVERY experience for our owners. Our Acoustic Engineers elected the driver side because it is the perfect size cavity for our desired 14-liter sealed enclosure without making the subwoofer system larger just to fill the additional space (to look flush). If space is of concern, our subwoofer system easily can be removed for the the days you're doing some major hauling and needing the additional cavity space your O+ sub is occupying. Keep the questions coming - As mentioned, we are here to personalize your experience.
Thank you. Also, I do not have a 3rd row/cargo tray. I do have a Husky all-weather mat that extends into the cavity/pocket on the left side. Can the OEM sub simply sit on top of that mat?
We would have to test to verify fitment and/or provide instructions on how to make to two work together (no doubt it can). Our subs commonly interact with all-weather cargo mats in other applications. Possible to send us pictures of your cargo area experience@oemaudioplus.com ? We want to ensure everything fits perfectly.

Great question. Due to our intended cable run for the Subwoofer Umbilical/ Connector, it is needed to trim and opening to allow the Subwoofer connection to run through the cargo net opening as seen at 10:16 on this instructional video. Otherwise the Liner and Subwoofer work together seamlessly.

Important note!! On this system the amp that I was just shipped mounted with the wiring harness facing the drivers seat. Sounds like a non issue but trust me this is a major problem!! the wiring harness obviously is different as well there are no longer two plugs but rather on large plug with a swing arm to lock it in place. The swing arm on the plug is a nice touch but because the wiring harness plugs in further away from the threshold it results in the wiring harness being too short to route it as shown in this video. When I routed my wiring harness as shown it IT DID NOT REACH THE BACK OF THE RADIO!!! I was 8" short. I had to re route the wiring harness across the passenger floor to be able to plug the harness into the radio. This is a problem on mulitple levels for one now under the rug on the passenger side there is a bulge from the wiring harness and it will be stepped on constantly. Also the ground wire was not long enough to have ample slack for the seat to go all the way back on the track if it is mounted in the location shown here. I dont like the fact that my wires are not in under the threshold for a clean and secure install, the sub harness was fine it had 2" extra wire to mount the sub, still close. End of story what would it hurt to give an extra foot of wiring harness ? Fail. "
Hi Steve, thanks for the comment! It sounds as though your connector was on backwards and thus the loss of 8" as you experienced. Did you have a chance to contact our Technical support team? We want your installation to go smoothly and are happy to make ourselves available should any questions come up during the process. Please give us a call without hesitation should ANY questions come up along the way!! (855) 636-6346 x2.
No tech support isnt open at 11pm. Also the front door speakers plug is located on the side of OEM audios speakers and not on top as the factory speakers are. therefore I have to cut open the exisitng wiring for the factory plug to reach. Not good. Why wouldnt they put the plug in the same location as the factory speakers when toyota gives zero extra wire for the plug.
Its pretty simple there is only one way the amp can be mounted. The plug is facing the center console.I tried to flip the amp around in the bracket but the allen bolt do not line up if its flipped. the eyelets are spaced differently on each side. smh. Ive installed and fabricated many stereo systems the reason I went with this is for the ease of install.
We actually take Tech calls 24 hours a day. Especially because we know when this particular phone line rings, it means that one of our owners is in the midst of an installation. We apologize that we weren't more clear about our available support for you during your installation. Are you available for a call now to review the installation and provide any available assistance? (855) 636-6346 x 2
Im working through things. This isnt my first rodeo, However things like the amp having the plugs on the opposite side isnt cool when you keep the wiring harness the same length, and notice in your video where the 6x9 has the plug on the top of speaker the 6x9's I have, the plug is on the side, Look into that youll see the problem. The factory wire will not reach without cutting open the sealed wiring harness and tape and pulling more slack out. I just dont lioke to pull on such delicate wires. I wish my speakers had the plug located like the one in the video. thanks for your replys. I appreciate the fast reply.
very good detail video , but i am shock , 2017 model vehicle have so much old tech , specially door handles attached to the plastic panel not to the door directly ..Toyota body /frame /engines are very reliable but they are lacking real tech of this century on these SUV ( not talking about Hybrid vehicles )
l l well from a mobile electronics installer i see your point but it gets in the way more often than not installing wires as you cannot feel the wire your looking for while wearing gloves.
Vince Sandoval: as a professional installer since 1985, I use various gloves for different jobs daily. Surgical gloves are only one type I use. My favorites are used by the carmakers in factories, made by Ansell. Some have open fingertips.

Jafar Martin thanks for the prompt response! Not seeing any active demos in that area at first glance (but we’ve delivered many systems in this area). Allow us to see if we can coordinate a listening session with one of our proud owners near Atlanta. Please send us a message at info@oemaudioplus.com when convenient so we can have a direct line to you for trying to set something up.
That's a bet. Thank you...
Im in ATL and installing mine today fyi
Fail.

That’s why people like them! Old school!
Do you guys have anything for w163??
Luis Luis not at this time sir
you got to protect them hands don't want any calluses on them!! lol C'Mon man
Lol! We wear gloves to protect the interior of the vehicle, not to protect our hands.
l l well from a mobile electronics installer i see your point but it gets in the way more often than not installing wires as you cannot feel the wire your looking for while wearing gloves.
Vince Sandoval: as a professional installer since 1985, I use various gloves for different jobs daily. Surgical gloves are only one type I use. My favorites are used by the carmakers in factories, made by Ansell. Some have open fingertips.
Guys are grounding right onto factory paint, I couldn't watch beyond that!!!
Threads provide the ground
Save your money and get something else. I had it installed and it doesn’t even sound that great.

Hope no one ever needs to access their jack and tools...
Ben, our tailored Driver Side 4Runner subwoofer fits flush to the driver side rear panel and is easily removable to access the tire jack as a result of our pressure mount design (mounts and/or is removed in a matter of seconds). Hopefully you’re not needing to access your tire jack weekly.
