Great video, glad to see Dennis and staff are doing well. Thanks!
Thank you Roger for your comment. Dennis is doing everything right. Regards, Wayne Whitley
Love Dennis' honesty, hard work, and dedication. I also agree that the COVID nonsense messed up a lot of small businesses.
Great interview!
That Aerolite design and Dennis' operation is first class. I'd love to fly one someday.
Thank you highlanderpilot, for your comment. "Mine is just a poor attempt to imitate the man" , William
Best Regards, Wayne
Aerolite is #1 on my list! Just waiting for the right time.
I kid you not, Aerolite is on my bucket list to own and fly once I settle in the USA hopefully soon. Greetings from South Africa.
Very cool video, great content. I'm about an hour from their shop, after watching the videos of that young girl flying an Aerolite 103 from South Carolina to Oshkosh sold me on this design. Going to put in an order for a ready to fly one......
Good for you1 Wish I could do the same.
Well done Wayne! You are the premier scribe for the lighter end of aviation. Hope to see you at Airventure.
The all black model looks so cool! All the best.
Love this stuff.
NICE JOB SIR
Trying to talk my wife into letting me pop on a 103. Great little aircraft!
Фантастическая
, отличная работа !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cables tend to be lighter and stronger, but dragier as well. You'd need a kingpost above the wing to support the landing wires. Also, I personally don't like cables, having lost to many hairs of my head walking into them.
Fantastic ultra light (part 103 FAR). Pop rivets better than TIG welding of aluminium pipe joints?
🌏🇭🇲
With no license required, do they offer training and if so what would it cost? Thanks
Nice plane
You want to know the lead time on parts. I ordered a hydraulic brake package, three wheels and tires ,and some brackets, on February 13 2023 I received two tires/wheels and brakes the end of May, and was told week after week that he would ship the rest on Friday. On July 3,23 I finally got a check in the mail for what he didn't send. Unless you have plenty of time to wait , you might consider something else.
A Kolb maybe? A much better aircraft.
WHAT'S THE PRICE OF THE TOP O THE LINE 103 ...AND STILL QUALIFY AS A PART 103 UL
Struts, instead of cable bracing, interesting. I wonder how that pencils out for drag versus weight? I mean, LOTS of UL's with cable bracing, I'm guessing using struts is a marketing decision, to appeal more to the conventional pilot perhaps?
Hola Dennis Carley me podría decir el precio del avión si motor 🙏gracias un saludo
I simply wish they would just sell the plans as an option like so many do. I bought legal eagle xl plans but would drop those to build one of these aerolites. There's not a lot to it and it all bolts together, no welding and it's tricycle gear.
Waiting on that 2 passenger plane
Why no mention of the electric version? Is production going steady on those, and is there high demand for them?
I think it was always just a proof of concept from them
WHO needs this? It’s only for pattern flying good. No fun at all. 😅
No demand because part 103 is limited to 250lbs, which doesn't leave much room for battery weight, which results in very short flights times.
Everybody just wants to know what the base price is.
Just go to their website!

what you talking about i wanted to know how high the 103 can fly
As high as any NA(naturally assisted) engine can fly, around 10-11000 ft. Any higher and you will need a turbocharger to compensate for the tinner air.
@@mofayer Depends on the plane. I flew a Pipistrel Sinus to 18,000 with a naturally aspirated 80 hp Rotax.
How high can the 103 fly
legally 18,000 ft, if capable
You made a comment just to insult me ?
What's your point tuff guy ?
What's the lead time after order placement?
Prices???

I almost died in an ultra lite crash. We had engine cold seizure. Thank god I had my instructor there to take the stick and he saved us even though we caught the last pine tree and I lost my spleen, broke ribs and made love to the tree all the way down. I’m watching this as well as the one vid on a girl flying to Oshkosh. I have the money. Do I have the nerve? I live in NC. Anyone wanna help me?

NONSENSE BUDDY?? Over 600.0000 at died, Moms, Dads, family. You talk NONSENSE SIR.
Dear Dennis. What exactly do you mean by "the covid nonsense"? That's quite an interesting name for a worldwide pandemic that led to millions of deaths around the world. Do you use such a term with safety? As in do you call quality control, safety, certifications, and performance testing all "nonsense"?? - Please explain. I'd hate to misinterpret your use of the English language.
