In my humble opinion Martinus symphonys should be in the permanent programmes of the leading orchestras even if it means replacing the symphonys of Schubert, Haydn and Schuman . Martinu had a vast output of wonderful music most of which we never hear in the concert halls . This is so undeserved.

So true! Haydn in particular is overrated, many of his symphonies are quite boring... (IMHO)

@@PaoloFioreRules get better ears then! What Haydn symphonies are is subtle. Too subtle in your case?
Thomson's are fine, but it's hard to top Jiří Bělohlávek.

Good man Bob. Martinu's music is sadly under-represented in today's concert halls.
drop BT's versions down the dispose-all. These are infinitely better.
