For those who wondering why it is in animation. This is because Yuqi don't have time to shoot the MV. She write this song few weeks before she go back to China for Keep Running variety show shooting as a regular member which she already miss 2 weeks shooting. She said she wanted to do a Solo so she can actively promote it in China and take the opportunity to promoted it in the show which she already did and perform a live singing in an event.
While Yuqi in Korea, she tooks 3 days to write and compose GIANT and together with other producer she finish recording it. But because she has full schedules, she thinks other way to bring this songs out. She had the idea of making it in animation because she can do anything in an animation version which in real shooting she can't. So she made a PPT to present to the company about this idea.
She want the animation to have 3 phase of her life.
1. The young Yuqi in middle school with ponytail hair
2. Before her debut
3. The present Yuqi with short hair cut
Bonnie and Clyde is the future Yuqi. She shoot the MV in China.
This single called A page. Which means like turning a page of life, Yuqi become more mature and confident. She bring different side of Cute Yuqi to Cool Yuqi.

Yuqi's backstory and why giant is such a beautiful song.
If you didn't know, she came in Korea as a foreigner and her parents is against about her decision being a kpop idol. Since she's one of the 5% student in Beijing with population of 21 million, she's really genius. She could have secured her future but she listened to her heart and prove to her parents that she has chosen the right path. When she came in korea, She was so lonely because she doesn't have any friends, she learned new language, work part-time jobs while being a trainee because she didn't get financial support from her parents. That's why she make this song to prove that she'll rise up like a giant despite any challenges she'll take. Yuqi, you've worked so hard, we appreciate this song so as you. We love you!!

I am so proud to stan these legends.
It is always a money making business. So most company always are looking for the safest route out possible. So there are cliche, similar concept and similar choreography a lot of time. Which is ok, but too much means the lack of creativity in the industry which is kinda bad.
But the artistry of Gidle had always been on another level from the rest. They are always doing some interesting new concepts.
The few group or people that are doing this is Shinee, Sunmi, Chungha and Gidle. Everyone else fall at the spectrum of Blackpink or Twice....everyone is trying yes, but when concept is super similar you know the company is going...Oh shit that sell well we are gonna copy that.... And it failed.
Safe is good sometimes but playing it too safe is ehhhhhhh.

The storyline is actually very interesting. In the beginning we see two people, her parents?(maybe). She has a mirror which probably represents her self confidence and image. She seems to be exploring and figuring out the world and what she wants to do. Later she is handed a key which could represent that someone chose a path for her rather than she herself. With the key she gets up the stairs and unlocks a door but everyone is bigger than her(like giants). She is very small compared to them but gets help from one of the giants to get further up. When she is on her own, she cannot face all the obstacles of life beacuse she lacks the experience(and possibly interest) . So her self confidence crumbles. She falls deep down and at this point she has no key. With one glimmer of hope her self confidence and image are repaired. Now she looks at her younger self and combines her experiences to stand up taller. She could be exploring the path she wanted to(music?) . We can see her shadow is a lot taller than her at this point which could represent confidence. She also has no key. She made it there on her own. Because this is the path she chose, all the obstacles feel like they're worth overcoming because her goal is worth it. Finally she is as tall as a giant by her own efforts.

Also, sadly this video and her other (bonnie & clyde) were low budget due to her crap company Cube and time pressure to do the Running show-series in Asia, so this video was just a quick & inexpensive animated MV as she had to go away show filming, but at least the MV had some meaning which happily you observed :)
As far as I know, this is a song where Yuqi sings about what she went through before and after debuting in (G)-IDLE and how she had to face the hate to become the giant she is now. I think, that this makes this song even more beautiful
