Honestly, this is the best car I have bought in a long while. We are on the journey for this 2024 drift season. I will be back at SantaPod in a couple of weeks :)

A 335i is an amazing car. I've had a convertible one with a DCT for about 6 months now and it's been a joy every day.
Since that one already has some drift preparation, I would assume it already has an LSD in it, but they come with an open diff from factory, so if you're not sure it's been done, look out for it. Cheaper solution would be to put in an M3 diff, but they're hard to come by, but Qualife do LSDs for them.
Yours has clearly already been modified, but I would still watch out for a few things on the platform, namely:
- Valve cover can easliy crack and cause oil leaks
- Any of the oil seals (oil filter housing, valve cover seal, oil pan seal) are all prone to break and cause oil leaks - generally keep an eye out for oil level, and knowing the common spots for issues, should be pretty easy to find a culprit in case of a leak
- Injectors issues (either blocked or leaking) - since yours is an early model, you're likely to have issues with that, look out for index 12 injectors (latest version made) to replace them, but they're no longer produced new and can be quite expensive to replace (around £3k for the whole set, and they need to be coded into the car)
- Carbon build up on the engine (get it walnut blasted around every 30k miles with higher boost pressures and add an oil catch can and it should avoid you any issues)
- Turbo wastegate rattle (the wastegate can start having problems closing up properly, you can either get the turbos re-built or get new ones, which would probably be cheaper) - easy to diagnose because of the rattling sound when revving.
The potential issue list sounds daunting, but it's mostly a matter of looking out for these issues and doing maintenance before the expected window, especially for modded cars. If you do that, it'll never give you any trouble whatsoever, and in the grand scheme of things, these are not major issues if you know what to look out for.
The car will give you a lot of pleasure, both in the track and out, and I hope you have a blast with it!
It's a shame that the early models (like yours) came without an oil cooler, since even just driving them around London can cause the oil temp to go sky high (my oil temp quickly goes all the way to 120C driving around London, and my car comes with an oil cooler from factory), but it's great that that has already been done for you since it'll save you a lot of headaches.

Not bad becky you done well I tried doing it on a honda jazz unfortunately I locked up really hard I almost crashed luckily I wasn't hurt.

Ques, wouldnt you want your practice car to be closer to your race/drift car so you don't have to adjust so much? I mean I understand costs etc
It’s a really great question. A lot of my practicing is getting my timing and reactions quicker. So although it isn’t the same set up, it is still teaching me to be versatile. I like still driving in a car with standard lock because if I want to do stock car drifting I need to know how to drift using less angle. The wisefab on my drift car gives me so much room to go to big angle, that if I tried to drive the same way in a normal car and do things for camera I would hit the lock stops and spin. It just means that you can drive both and still have the skill to manage both effectively x
