Justin’s personality is great and his effort in this interview is amazing and makes me like him a lot. Great addition to the band
I like the fact Ricky said the pressure is always on them to top their older stuff. Ricky take take a breath. Anything you put out is pure gold. I've listen to you guys since middle school and that's never gonna change. You guys never disappoint
Yeah I also liked that he mentioned the "pressure" issue. But then he continued with "growing" aso and that you prefer the newer stuff to the older stuff. No. You don't need to like what you do in the present more than what you did in the past. You can equally like it if you feel it that way (ok I get it that he said that, not only because they need to promote their new album but also because you are of course proud of a new creation you put a lot of work and personality into). But I guess, that's a mentality that people generally have. In our life/society it's too much about growing/becoming better imo; like a goal we must absolutely follow and be successful at. I mean personal growth is very important and necessary in every way, and I support that, but (probably there are very few people out there sharing my point of view) I think we should become a little bit more free from that pressure of growing and growing when we're already good, or interpretate it that way. Let's just cherish the past and the present; every work has its value with its story.
Anything by MIW is going to be good its impossible for them to create something bad

I started listening to MIW when Creatures came out and honestly wasn’t the biggest fan. Reincarnate was the album that made me a get into them more, but Graveyard shift was just amazing and turned me into a bigger fan, im looking forward to the new album.
I'm the opposite, I loved creatures with all my heart, reincarnate and infamous we're great but creatures (especially immaculate misconception) have always been my favorite. Graveyard shift was good don't get me wrong, but it's definitely my least favorite of the albums. I'm hoping that Disguise is heavier and Chris screams a little more but with brand new numb being what it is.... Sigh. It's alright though I still love these guys and I'll support whatever they want to do. And disguise is great and even graveyard shift had some heavy stuff like 570 and Soft. And it's not like I don't like the softer ones either, I just like the heavy ones more haha. Anyways I'm still extremely excited for this album. Motionless and Ice nine kills are the only two bands I really get excited about
Moroni Loveridge Im on the same boat my friend haha. I loved Immaculate Conception & I loved the harder tracks on Infamous like Devils Night & Black Damask & such but after that, the only other track I could get into was Reincarnate. I didnt even check out Graveyard Shift tbh. Im not really into the soft techno-ish side of them, (not that its bad), but I just wish they’d make more harder shit.
@@StellarD98 it's honestly kind of surprising that they are going softer, especially with Spencer just being with INK whose albums have all been heavier than the previous one, you would think he'd do something similar

Ricky really hit it on the nail. We have grown as listeners alongside the band evolving. I've listened to them since 2011 and back then I was huuuge into metalcore etc, but now I don't listen to a single one of the same bands I did then EXCEPT Motionless In White. Because they grew and did new things that I continued to enjoy and to this day they are still my favourite band. I find myself occasionally returning to their old stuff, but I gotta be in a real nostalgic mood to really listen to it. Love this new direction, can't wait to listen to the new album!!!
Yes! Somebody that loves change. I’m the same way except I never invested too much into MIW because they came up around 2010 and I was already invested in ADTR, BMTH, TDWP, OM&M and Asking Alexandria. ADTR is my favorite band ever but I don’t listen to them much because they’ve practically remained the same since Homesick. BMTH on the other hand is somebody I still listen to a lot
Justin said gang vibe is that why Chris looks like he subscribes to chola makeup tuttorials. Disguise is an awesome song but Justin in the music video reminds me of jack from lord of the flies

yeah lol, that had me like "whaaaaaaaaaaaaa? how does one create that MIW style," then i thought about Dead as fuck part one and was like oh yeah they made a tim burton and rob zombie had a musical child and he made this song type of vibe and i was like hmmmmmm.....i wonder if its going to be 80s hair metal type, kinda motley crue-ish but synthy in a MIW time skip kinda way? (i just fucked my brain up trying to imaginatively process that) still curious, just overall stoked for the new album. this band evolves quite nicely unlike to others. MIW is a versatile band for sure and not in a negative way. no matter the mood there is always an miw song for that.
So stoked for this album. Motionless is the band that got me into metal. Always nice to see new things from my fact band!

I’m so happy that motionless in white is still around and relevant I have loved this band ever since 2011 and never looked back they define the entire genre of metalcore and now with their last 2 albums have segwayed into regular metal I am proud of motionless in white they have made things interesting in music since 2011
I'm super exited for Disguise. I love Motionless's first few albums. The Whorror, When Love Met Destruction, and Creatures are fucking great. I also love Infamous, Reincarnate, and Graveyard Shift. I'm convinced that it's impossible for them to make bad music. Hell, even Santa's Pissed slaps. I love their variety of sounds and the difference between each album. I love the heavy, not as popular songs. I love the most popular ones like Devil's Night, Immaculate Misconception, and America. I love the songs that are softer or have softer parts or choruses. I love the remixes that Ricky made, and the acoustic version of Eternally Yours. I love Wasp. And every single song that they've made. I can't wait to see how Justin adds to the band as a whole. I love Ice Nine Kills, and I think he'll be a great fit. He seems like a super nice guy, and I hope I'll get to see them perform live sometime soon.
In conclusion, I love Motionless In White, and I'm so fucking exited to hear Disguise. I fully support them in changing the overall sound of their music, and if other people don't, that's ok, but don't hate.
The 2 new songs are dope, disguise is the best song they have made yet. Justin seems chill and like he fits well. Awesome interview Tori🖤

I'm never anxious when MIW change a line up or tweak their sound because they're good at stayed close to their original sound without being boring.
Ice nine kills is my all time favorite band. They will always have a special place in my heart. Seeing Justin be himself with motionless is so sick. I feel like he never talked much in ink interview and stuff. He seems to fit in with miw well. I’m happy for him
I always love their stuff from the EPs to the newer stuff they just kinda "experiment" a bit beyond just "metalcore" that what I like about graveyard shift and the 2 singles
I think the interviewer hasn't heard all motionless in white songs! I dont feel like they have changed their style, every song is just a perfect complement to each album, and they are still heavy in one way or another, plus i dont see people complaining. MIW is just perfect! They are loyal to the type of music they come out with.

i became a fan pre-infamous- hands down the old stuff is personally my favorite because it played a big role in my middle and high school years, but motionless in white never fail to make good music. they are an amazing band and i still listen and love them so much. like they said, if you really like a band, youll support it, and i will always stand by motionless in white 🖤

I have to agree with Justin about the people who are holding on to the past and complaining that MIW's new stuff is too different from Creatures and saying that they're "selling out". If a band made all their albums sound EXACTLY the same, it would be boring as fuck. Also, MIW still has and always will have their heavy roots in their music. Open your mind before your mouth people

I don't see MIW selling out what so ever! I've been listening to the band before Chris became the lead singer full time. Ghost in the Mirror brings back so many memories for me and where I was in my life at that time. I have loved ever album they have created and I definitely have my favorite songs that I can listen to over and over again. I like the heavy stuff of course, but I love the not as heavy stuff too. I love that Chris has the voice for both and I feel I can connect with the band more that way. I can't wait to hear the rest of the record and to see these songs preformed live!!!

@@braydencox5914 he wasn't originally the lead singer. He was back up and lead guitarist and eventually became lead singer. If you listen to older stuff, it was someone else singing just not on too many songs.
@@tanieshagammon4748 Chris and TJ were both the lead vocalists, and TJ definitely sang on a lot of their early works, but Chris' voice sounded very different back then too. If I'm not mistaken, Chris did most of the unclean (screaming) stuff, and TJ handled most of the clean (singing) stuff. But by the time Creatures came out, TJ was purely on backing vocals (alongside guitar), and Chris was doing all the lead vocals.

This sounds epic. I love when they change up, never disliked anything they did honestly not just as a fan.I loved Loud it gave me that awesome 90s metal/punk feel. I hear synth and I am now wanting to hear it more, it's an under rated style that can go so many ways. I honestly would love to hear some more old school stuff from them like Loud. I like pretty much every type of metal so maybe that is the reason why I enjoyed all their stuff so much.

MIW is and always will be my favorite band and the shift in music style is basically nessicary I work in restaurants and executive chefs have to change and evolve or they end up losing Michellen stars one of my favorite chefs said to his sous one night after service saying "let's change the menu we've been doing this menu for 3 months doing the same thing gets boring." And his sous said "everyone on the next reservation list has never been here before so it's new to them." And the chefs reply was "yea but what about us." Same with bands making the same music you made on your first 2 albums get boring for you as a musician and you want to make new shit so I love and welcome the change
