The "Millennium Bug" was a real issue at the time. The fact that not a lot happened was because of the many hours people like myself put in, amending software to stop it. So the PIF served its purpose.
14:12 It's 2021 and I've seen idiots go up the side of am articulated lorry turning left a few times this year already! I also work in a supermarket and the drivers of our deliveries have told me it's an almost daily occurrence for those who drive into cities.
14:18 They’re not necessarily trying to teach how to use a staircase as they are educating about how to use a staircase _safely_, with a target audience being the newly-disabled and the old folks. In other words, they are aiming for people who need to start being more careful on and around stairs than maybe they are used to. My mom’s not quite old yet (8 years before that happens), but she does have health conditions that started fairly recently, including one that started up in the Summer of 2014 that affects her balance and mobility. Oh, sure, she can still do a wobbly limp about the house, but she’s so used to carefree movement that she needs reminders not to do things like turn quickly or rush at standing up, and she needs lots of help with stairs the few times she manages to leave home.
If your ball or frisbee or whatever toy you have does go into a substation or on top of a building tell the a policeman/policewoman or just buy a new toy.
10) LOL, VHS. My god, I'm old for remembering VHS... Back in my day, sonny... 9) Relevant... kinda? Don't play around the electrical shit. Did anyone actually know anybody who got killed like that? You are right though, nobody breaks into power stations anymore. Everyone knows it's stupid. 8) Do people even still polish their floors anymore? 7) Smoking in a cinema. Jeez... Good message, outdated execution. 6) What a whimsical commercial. c: They're advertising for something that you by definition have to use. 5) what. :) 4) Important message, but did it really need a PIF? Though to be fair, I had to learn how to properly use a ladder for my last job as well... 3) Okay but using the stairs actually *can* be dangerous in the extreme if you're elderly. This actually *did* need to be made, it just didn't need to be made for *you*. 2) Again, something that needed to be said, because people are stupid... don't fuck around with trucks. 1) Hey, it's Y2K brought to you by the Slender Man. Yes, because Y2K was such a problem. LOL.
Yeah I don't understand why they made the fatal floor one I mean it is common sense. Also that woman's wide eyed look of shock is so ridiculous. The PIF is just ridiculous
Actually, it was a PIF telling you how to send for a PAMPHLET to teach you how to use a ladder. Come to think of it, that's even dumber, huh? But seriously, my dad was an electrical contractor, and yeah, don't screw around with electricity.
The first one is the most annoying commercial I've ever seen in my life. I was actually looking for the skip ad button not realizing it was actually a PIF. I hope it's okay to do this, but I have a bit of a suggestion for these top 10s. Do you think you could add some audio during the parts where it goes silent? Maybe some music or something if you're not going to speak the text you have written on the screen? I'd also really love to hear what your reviews are, but when it goes silent you have any blind viewers of this vid yelling. "PLAY STUPID!!" at their computer.
Thanks. I'd love to see them. Also, what I said was the most annoying commercial was actually an ad from UA-cam, not one of your PIFs. The first actual PIF that wasn't a brief clip was the piracy one where the guy bought a bad tape and was trying to take it back, wasn't it? Apparently UA-cam showed two ads before your video, one that was skippable and one that wasn't, and the second one that played yesterday went on and on. The fact that it sounded American should havbe been the clue I guess. I've just never known UA-cam to play two ads in a row.
In number 7 what is that girl giggling about? lol That other woman said it was gross kissing him and mentions a serious disease; lung cancer...and...she giggles. Never mind the cigarette he's smoking, WHAT is her friend smoking???
Seeing all these electrical and train pifs from back in the 70s-90s always makes me think “what was so boring about life back then that kids needed to dick around power stations and railroads?”
All the technological devices we have today (computers, smartphones, smart tvs etc...) didn't exist back then, thus kids used to spend way more time playing outside and some parents used to let them free to explore the surroundings withouth keeping an eye on them. And shit happens, expecially when you're a kid and you weren't taught how to avoid risks / you lack common sense or you're not sensible enough. Look for the PIF called "Apache", it shows how dangerous it was to play in a farm (and at the end there are some captions informing us about how many children were involved in those lethal accidents back then)

17:08 THE GUY HAS NO EYES OR MOUTH😨😨😂😂😂😂 that's a hundred years of nightmares now THANK YOU MILLENNIUM BUG ADVERT!!!!!!
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
This guy just going absolutely bonkers in between the PIFs

Also some of these are useful in America, like the ladder one. I was never informed that was an option.
Literally so many people die from accidents on the stairs, especially older people
They have entire legal teams for trucking accidents in america
how about Top 10 Confusing PIFs?
I have a suggestion: Top 10 Unintentionally Hilarious PIFs
Oh and great video :)
Number 2 had me in stitches.
If your ball or frisbee or whatever toy you have does go into a substation or on top of a building tell the a policeman/policewoman or just buy a new toy.
#8: didn't they have rug underlayment in the 60's?
The Millennium bug turned out to a big fuss over nothing.
With number 10, yeah VHS is pretty much a thing of the past. Might still apply for DVDs though.
With pirated video software, it would not be video cassettes nowadays, it would be DVDS and/or blu-ray.
You have to admit, the stairs one was quite funny
This person should have a sitcom lol
has anyone else realized pretty much ALL of these are british PSA's?
10) LOL, VHS. My god, I'm old for remembering VHS... Back in my day, sonny...

As for no.2 - the lorry and car - cars would try it
Bars are now fitted to trailers to prevent that kind of accident happening
You going insane made me laugh.

PIF NUMBER 3:I SEE SOMEWHERE THIS GUY
Lol the old woman in number 5 is in the 1st series of Little Britain :p
madmonkey4eva Ahh yeah she's the elderly woman who for some reason David Walliams character really fancies!!
To easportsbig899, forgive for sounding patronising but I hated the fact you had to rewind video cassettes at the end.
I think we all hated having to do that.
+easportsbig899 Yes, you are right.
Why must you interrupt my weekend screening of robot wars?! D:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH - *Random Knight Bloke*
15:36.... my reaction to that pif.... stupid car...
you should think about collabing with someone, I mean peachy did it....
Number 10 would work for DVD's though, surely?
Well, they used those rubbish "You wouldn't steal a car..." PIFs on DVDs.
easportsbig899 That was bloody annoying.
Y2K?.....A-OK!!!!!
First of all, you're hilarious. Second of all, what the FUCK is a PIF
And wtf is "the Millennium bug"
Aaron Wright The Millennium Bug.
One of the biggest scams of all time.
It was a prediction that by 2000 all computers would stop working.
a pif is a public information film, which is basically the UK name of a psa

I've finished making the series now, but I'm planning on perhaps providing a brief summary of my thoughts on the PIFs in the video descriptions.

Trading 212
Blind viewers!?!?
Do top 10 unexpected plot twist psa’s
To Easportsbig899, you know when you said things about people being stupid, actually sadly people are that stupid.
In number 7 what is that girl giggling about? lol That other woman said it was gross kissing him and mentions a serious disease; lung cancer...and...she giggles. Never mind the cigarette he's smoking, WHAT is her friend smoking???
DELETE..OBSOLETE..DELETE....OBSOLETE
Brother Nero...I knew you'd come.
