      100%. Listening to Bret talk about his career is not only fascinating, but it’s also a masterclass in how to publicly speak and captivate an entire audience. He’s a class guy and that’s nice (from a fan POV) that he is that way. He was raised correctly.

    Bret surely has to be the most authentic man in wrestling. I have heard him tell these stories so many times in different places, and never once does his story or any of the details change. You can tell that he always speaks the truth and somehow went through a career in thr wrestling business without a single blemish on his integrity as a human being. As well as being one of the very best technical wrestlers of all time, Bret truly is a hero. Thank you, Hitman!

      I think Shawn being eight years younger (27 years old in 1992) than Bret Hart was understanding of the situation and he seemed to handle it professionally. Despite Shawn's strong singles push in 1992, Bret vs British Bulldog in England was clearly the better draw as both those guys were more established. Plus, Bret was showing signs of amazing potential to finally be a main-event star and was very popular, so Shawn wasn't really in a position to complain and was likely happy to be getting any kind of push at all.

    Just wanted to clarify for anyone reading who wasn’t a UK wrestling fan in the ‘90s, the claim that he was more popular here than Bulldog is just not true.
    Heard him make this claim a few times now (more popular than Hogan here etc) and it just comes across as a bit delusional. There is one interview where he says he begged Vince to send a film crew to Germany to follow him because it was so crazy and then complains it was the wrong part of Germany when the reaction was underwhelming.
    UK fans were always grateful to see the big names so no doubt he did feel more popular here but I can’t even work out which tour gave him this idea that he was the main man: he lost to Dino Bravo in ‘89 and wasn’t even on the card at UK Rampage ‘91. Bulldog won the Battle Royal later that year and headlined in ‘92.

      @KurtAngle89 3 роки тому +1

      Hulk somewhat lifted the shoulder in the "3" during the count, he obviously was declared the loser, as per the plans, and you can see him sort of arguing with the referee in keyfabe, and then accepting the loss and lifting Warrior's hand in the afterwards. Knowing him now, it's obvious he tried to be a crybaby and have his character look as if somewhat he didn't really lost

    • @Midge-xn9tp

      KurtAngle89 I don’t know, I think the shoulder lifting was ok, to beat a champion in anything is never going to be easy, it can’t be easy for any athlete to be told they have to lose, I personally would want to make it hard for me to get beat, at the time Hulk maybe was happy to drop the title, but as time has passed he seems happy to twist stories a little bit, all about making himself money long after his in ring days passed
