Here, Guru is your spiritual master who has crossed the barrier of material body, understood his/her true self and entered the everlasting Abode of Krishna/Bhagwan/God. A person himself/herself who has not achieved that quality can't be your Guru. Because, how he can teach you when he himself is unawares of how to get there? So, choose your spiritual master carefully after observing his actions and activities for a really long and long period of time. 3.
