I loved this video along with your approach to not make shopping a hobby or lifestyle. I fully agree! 💯 I only buy anything when I absolutely need to and like you, I prefer a good sale 🤗 You are a good example of a woman who is responsible with finances and makes good and wise decisions 🙏🏻 I love that you always seem to have other people in mind when you shop ❤️ Thank you for sharing and may you have a blessed week 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Thanks Carol! I definitely used to be more reckless with spending, when I was a young wife, because I didn't know any better. Thankfully I have learned to manage our finances! Oh I truly enjoy finding items I know my family will get use out of🤗
Great haul on both trips! I have problems with women's tops! I have wider shoulders and long arms... everything fits so awkward for me. I buy men's tees and wear them under jumper dresses. ☺️
Such a good haul! And getting 50% off both shopping trips was a great deal! I wish there were good deals like that in my area but the local thrifts stores out here are marketed as vintage shops and the prices are outrageous. I always enjoy book recommendations and that book about self talk is something I could really use in my life right now 😅 I’ll see if I can find a copy at my local library or even used online. Oh and I loved that the cats made a special appearance in this video. So cute!
I'm sure that type of thrift store is very frustrating! None of them here are considered vintage shops, and I rarely find old items, mostly cheap newer stuff😂 I hope you are able to find a copy of the book! My cats sure do love smelling everything I bring home! We are a fragrance free house so they don't know what to make of the smells.
Hi Christina, you certainly found some good bargains! I agree with you about men’s clothing. I have a number of “mens” t-shirts and sweaters. As you say not so form fitting and I find a lot of times more modest. I recently found a pair of Mark’s brand jeans for a couple dollars that fit me perfectly. I looked online and found they were men’s!😆 Being in a tiny town we don’t have the big name thrift stores but have smaller not for profit ones. At the end of the month one of them has a half price sale every month. I usually can find what I need then. Take care.❤
Hi Robin! That is too funny about the jeans! I live near a bigger city with a few big thrift stores, and some not for profit ones too. It seems like the not for profit ones here have a very limited selection though. Maybe I need to dig deeper!
@@ChristinaOurWoodHome Our smaller thrift shops get great clothing donated. To visit the bigger ones you have to drive for forty minutes to Belleville so donations tend to stay in town. I often wonder when I am wearing something if a person recognizes their donation!😆😆
Love seeing thrift hauls! Thanks for sharing! And I really like that second hair cover - trying to figure it out, though - is it in 2 parts? Very cute!
Thanks Anne! it is called an apron style tichel. I layered the blue scalloped part onto the white fabric, so it is one piece. The covering is basically a rectangle with long ties, that are wrapped around. I plan to do a video showing how I put it on.
@ChristinaOurWoodHome thanks! I'll take a look at that. I started that video and was interrupted and haven't got back to it yet. As a lazy homemaker, I was really enjoying it. Great idea about getting dressed! I find it makes such a difference.
@@ChristinaOurWoodHomeI just finished that video - great tips! It was a quick demonstration and I would like to see more - including how to make one. While I don't cover my hair for religious reasons, I do like to cover at times for other reasons - to keep my hair out of my way, to keep me warm when cold, and to keep the dust out of my hair when walking down our dirt/gravel road. This one is full coverage and so pretty!

Thanks Rosemarie! I'm realizing a lot of women buy men's tops for a better fit!

Anne, I forgot that I did show (quickly) how I put on this covering in my lazy homemaker video!
