Nooo thanks.
We don't mess with spirit-communicators in Asia either. In Buddhism and east asian culture, we have a thing called Preta (Hungry ghost) They are in a state of limbo, unable to reincarnate UNLESS a living person helps them. The reason you don't mess with them is that if you help/communicate with of them, they will keep coming after you for more because they literally will suffer until you help them. The problem is that humans can't really help them either due to a lot of reasons. It's a vicious cycle. So, all of us stay the fuck away from those. I haven't even seen a oujia board irl.

I’ve always seen using a Ouija board sort of like blindly opening the front door when you don’t know who’s knocking. Might be a family member, might be someone with sinister intentions.
5:21 I am sorry to inform you, that was not a ghost. It is called sleep paralysis. It sometimes happens when you are falling asleep or waking up. The brain switches off the body movement when you are sleeping so you would not move as you are moving in your dreams and did not accidentally hurt yourself. Sometimes it happens that the brain switches the body to sleep mode, but does not switch itself at the same time, that is when you are not able to move and it is frightening. It might be accompanied by hallucinations as well, which explains that you heard something from the bathroom.
when they were mentioning saying yes at the appointments to allow a group of students to come into the room and watch the procedures... my first thought was how courageous it is to allow it- while yes, it's perfectly natural and nothing to be embarassed/ashamed about and the students have to get these real life experience/demonstrations but at the same time, it's a very vulnerable moment for a female to be there with legs wide open and everything out in the open. you go into the appt with the mindset of it being a very private space between you and the doctor and the assistant. suddenly the room feels very small and a lot more public when 3-5 extra people come in. kudos to ariel for saying yes to it and totally understable about feeling regret about it my 2nd thought is... these ladies are now public figures themselves. as more time goes on, it becomes more likely for more and more people to recognize them. i know the decision is up to the ladies and they'll yes if they're truly ok with it and i'm also sure the students would be discrete about it. if a fan is among the students, i'm sure they'd be respectful and not blab. but it's still a thought that crossed my mind.
I did have a student come in with the doctor when I was getting an iud. I remember watching this young man from between my knees as he performed a pelvic exam. He didn't know what to do with his eyes and had his tongue out a little bit in concentration. It struck me as funny, but I didn't laugh or say anything. I did wonder what the doctor said to him later. Everybody has to start somewhere.
I was surprised when Becky said that the doctor said most people refuse. I have said yes to a few observation situations (not all gyn, one was with my endocrinologist, some with my neurologist, some in ER - and yes, I've probably needed more medical care than most), but I've always said yes. It only makes sense to say yes to me, they need to learn at some point, and have to get exposure to all types of situations.
What on earth would they blab about though? I don't think that's an issue. There is always the doctor-patient confidentiality too, and if they breach that they're in trouble.
When my sister and I were younger about a week or so before Christmas my dad would always go outside, sneak around the house, and knock on the windows. Mom would tell us that it was Santa checking in on us. It scared the crap out of us every year. Even once we were old enough to figure out that it was dad!
Ariel's description of using a ouija board is giving me an entire anxiety attack (I think the general occult understanding is similar ish to Becky's- you're unlikely to communicate with a benevolent ghost using a ouija board, especially without a proper seance because that's what's actually believed to be the thing that contacts them, and the board just functions as an irritating communication device. But you might spark the interest of some malevolent force ie a demon and get your shit rocked, especially if you're being irresponsible about it)
@Stephany G. yeah I'm with you here I personally never want to use one, especially not in my home (my roommate has tried and I have told him in no uncertain terms it's not gonna happen) because it sounds like the fact that it's such a manufactured "game" makes it a lot more likely that you'll have a terrible interaction, and I just generally believe that ghosts and the like are better off left alone. I imagine they don't want me bothering them with a ouija board, at the very least.
Ned would probably have a hard time with the first season of Supernatural because there are a lot of monsters, but when it becomes more about demons and the apocalypse and angels and alternate realities, I'm sure he'd be fine.
I do the same thing as Ariel, with the blanket covering my ears! I don't remember what caused me to start doing that in my childhood but it's just something I've done for years too. It was cool hearing someone else did the same thing!
LOL when they kept going on about Oujia boards being a toy Phoebe's voice from Friends popped into my head saying "Oh its NOT a toy" lol (in reference to when Ross was using a magic 8 ball to see if he should stop being friends w/ rachel to save his marriage to emily).

Bloody Mary stops being scary when you learn who she was in history and why she got that name. Queen Mary I, look her up. Interesting story, but takes the scare out of it. 😂😂
There have been millions of Marys throughout history, just because a queen has the same name as a much more modern phantom mirror-witch who claws up your face when you summon her doesn’t mean they’re the same Mary.
A lot of people say Scrubs is the most accurate of medical tv shows. The creator of the show Bill Lawrence went to college with a guy named John & the show/character J.D is based on the friend. John is now a cardiologist in LA. My fave eps are the episodes are the ones Michael J. Fox & Brendon Fraser guest star on. If you watch the series don't watch s9. Even the cast & creator joke saying Season 9 isn't a thing😂

When i was 6 i was woken up by a storm so i went to my parents room to go to sleep. When i was getting situated i was sitting up looking into the hallway. The lightning flashed and i saw a figure of a man wearing a hat and he also had a pipe sticking out of his mouth walk into my room. I woke my mom and she said it was just the lightning flashing and to go to sleep. Freaks me out walking into my room in a dark hallway. I feel like something is always behind me.

I love the podcast where arial spoke about how she would read romance books, I think it would be nice if we didn’t shame people talking about it or laugh at them. I think it was a great episode and I feel it would’ve been nice to hear more with less shaming, encourage women to talk about sex etc if they want
I have a non toy ouija board I found at a flea market with my dad when I was a teen. Its a wooden vintage thing (60s or 70s maybe) and it didn't have a planchet with it. Its moved with me ever since because I just really liked it and had hidden it from my mom who was also anti ouija board. I have it packed up nicely until my renos are done and then it'll be a display piece. Still waiting for a random planchet to come into my life
Lowkey would love to hear Maggie's takes on the heavier Scrubs episodes -- like why Kelso (the chief) is so heartless about the insurance, or the Laverne episode(s).

A true story that happened to my grandfather back in ye olden days of mexico. My great-grandfather had a peg leg due to a accident where a tree fell on him so he lost his leg and he had a stick where his leg would be. My grandfather was very young and he told me that all he remembers of his father was his wooden leg and how you would hear a thump scrape thump scrape when his father came come from working on the ranch. My great-grandmother was very beautiful and there was a rumor that she was having an affair with the owner of the ranch my great-grandfather worked at. So my great-grandfather was going to confront the owner of the ranch to see if the rumors were true but before he could the owner of the ranch sent a hit-man to my great-grandfather and killed him with a machete in cold blood. My grandfather was very young and would ask his mom where is dad and she would say he went hunting. But at the crack of dawn when nobody was awake but him he would hear a thump scrape thump scrape on the roof as if his father was walking on the roof keeping an eye on his little boy. He would hear that sound on the roof everyday at dawn until he moved out of the house.
I also sleep on my side with my ears covered, is mainly because of an ingrained myth/fear about bugs crawling into your ears and eatting brains that I have since accidentally watching a budget horror movie as a toddler 🤣
I was also raised Catholic but my mom and I have always been open to things like tarot cards and such, and we have used a Ouija board before. The thing (if you believe in them) is that they have the ability to contact the dead, so if you ask for a specific person they may come through, but if you don't ask for a specific person anyone can come through, so you have to be responsible. There is a correct way to 'open' the board, and it's very important to 'close' the board correctly also, which a lot of people don't know how to do. Also, when you put it away, the board and the 'magnifying glass' part can't touch or the 'door' is still 'open'. If you use the Mattel board it's probably shit, but you can make your own or get one that's not mass produced that might channel better, though no matter what you shouldn't use it if you're a teenager with your friends and you don't know the proper procedure. If you really want to communicate with the dead though it would be best to go to a professional.
When I think I can’t love Becky more, she mentions Julie and the Phantoms! I’m also very glad to find adults like me enjoying that show cause I’m feeling validated in this house
Ariel! Same! When I was little, there was a book at my school library that had a picture on the cover of a skeleton whispering into a sleeping kid's ear. It freaked me out SO MUCH. I don't think I even ever read the book! TO THIS DAY (I am a 34 year old adult woman y'all), I have to sleep with both my ears covered so no creepy skeletons whisper at me in my sleep.
I literally just posted about how I’m down for pretty much anything but if you break out a ouija board I will get up and leave. I will not be apart of opening any sort of door to let anything in that could possible connect itself to me and follow me. No no. I don’t play with the ghosties lol
As a medical student, it was really great to hear your perspectives on medical students being in with you as patients at the end of the episode. Thanks for sharing those experiences.
LMAO i relate so hard to Ariel with the blanket thing to sleep, i watched my mom play diablo when i was like 8 and i saw the vampires biting necks so i started covering my neck and ear as if that’s gonna protect me lmfao. i STILL do it to this day and it’s hard to fall asleep any other way💀
I love when Maggie talks about her job as a nurse. I'm a high school junior, and my school has this really cool program that teaches CNA nursing skills and goes over other skills and jobs, and generally prepares you for what to expect in the healthcare field based on organization, laws, patients rights, etc... and it's so cool to like, hear everything I've read about in my Allied Health Textbook as like, an actual person's experience and get some tips. Hearing and seeing these types of episodes is a real pick me up, honestly. I've done 2 years and 3 credits so far in this program learning so much and perfecting my learning CNA type skill set, and this year I was supposed to actually go to a hospital and nursing home and watch and even perform certain tasks under supervison (Intake stuff, like pulse and BP, height/weight, temp, etc...) and work with patients and residents in every department, but obviously because of Covid that's not happening this year. It's still nice to hear about real world stuff though, even if I can't be a part of it. IDK what my class will look like in January (I think mostly review of the end of the year stuff, and maybe some First Aid if we have time!) but I'm still excited to keep learning about such a cool field and Maggie's segments remind me of why I spend so much time preparing for these courses
The movie The Strangers was based on the Keddie murders that happened 10 minutes from where I went to college in Quincy, CA. Also, reportedly, one of the most haunted towns in the country (at least according to the locals).

The ouija boards you see on shelves were marketed as toys but spirit boards are older then the toy company and are most definitely not toys or for games. Spirit board exist in many cultures in different forms but all have the the same base and purpose. Moral: if you don't wanna screw with the dead dont play
1 Arial on ghosts and Becky and Maggie don't touch weegie boards, catholic upbringing being the cause of this fear, and horror in general and scary movies 2 Scrubs 39:00, it gets good at this point 50:00 Rapid response 3 54:00 OBGYN and saying no to students watching
What Rachel experienced was actually sleep paralysis. Where your brain wakes up before your body but your still conscious. I have it when I'm stressed or I sleep on my back. What she described was that. Where you cant move and you either hear or see things. But I definitely believe in ghosts. I just know that that's one thing you can explain.
If you like spooking yourself there is a really easy way to do it. Go into a bathroom, or any room that gets pitch black and has a mirror, stand in front of the mirror and spark a lighter. Maybe alternate between short stretches where the lighter is lit vs just sparks and to really kick it up a notch smile creepily while doing it
Where I'm from there is a similar tale to the one Becky told. It's about a guy who went to a dance and spent all night dancing with this one girl. When the party ended he walked her home and on the way, the night got chilly so he lent her his jacket. When he dropped her off she said he could come for his jacket the next day. So, as the story goes, the guy went to her house but was received by the girl's mother. When asking for the girl, the mother started crying and explained that she had died several years ago. The guy, in shock, goes looking for her grave. When he gets there what he sees gives him a chill: over the headstone his jacket was gracefully placed.

Supernatural is on Netflix and I finished my 5-month binge from the very beginning last week and caught up on the recent episodes, hope you enjoy!
if yall could just keep a mini screen of Miles up so we can watch him react to all these topics thatd be comedy gold
when they were mentioning saying yes at the appointments to allow a group of students to come into the room and watch the procedures... my first thought was how courageous it is to allow it- while yes, it's perfectly natural and nothing to be embarassed/ashamed about and the students have to get these real life experience/demonstrations but at the same time, it's a very vulnerable moment for a female to be there with legs wide open and everything out in the open. you go into the appt with the mindset of it being a very private space between you and the doctor and the assistant. suddenly the room feels very small and a lot more public when 3-5 extra people come in. kudos to ariel for saying yes to it and totally understable about feeling regret about it
my 2nd thought is... these ladies are now public figures themselves. as more time goes on, it becomes more likely for more and more people to recognize them. i know the decision is up to the ladies and they'll yes if they're truly ok with it and i'm also sure the students would be discrete about it. if a fan is among the students, i'm sure they'd be respectful and not blab. but it's still a thought that crossed my mind.
HIPPA protects everyone from that
As someone studying children's and mental health nursing, it's so interesting hearing about Maggie's career experiences.
I could listen to Maggie speak about her job and career experience all day
I don't know if it's just me but did yall also notice Maggie's sparkly ring!!!
Rachel needs to talk to Eugene about sleep paralysis
I love how the Catholics in the room stare at Ariel like “nah.” When they’re like “it’s surely John, moving it.” Lol
But you might spark the interest of some malevolent force ie a demon and get your shit rocked, especially if you're being irresponsible about it)
Same! Ouija boards aren't inherently evil, but you never know who's coming through; and demons work in misinformation.
Yeeesss Becky, Supernatural!! It is on Netflix and it's not even over yet, but I miss it already! RIP 😭
It was cool hearing someone else did the same thing!
im listening to this as i cram 5 assignments
Same! 😂
same!!
I feel this! I have an assignment to do tonight and a test to study for but this with some Ben and Jerry’s was my priority
I feel that. Pre-reading and a bunch of admin chores for me here 😂😅. Good luck! Hope it went well.
Same!!!
LOL when they kept going on about Oujia boards being a toy Phoebe's voice from Friends popped into my head saying "Oh its NOT a toy" lol (in reference to when Ross was using a magic 8 ball to see if he should stop being friends w/ rachel to save his marriage to emily).
Can you please start to add chapters to your videos. Would be great to have a listing of the topics you are covering and where they appear in the video.
Keep up the great content. :)
Bloody Mary stops being scary when you learn who she was in history and why she got that name. Queen Mary I, look her up. Interesting story, but takes the scare out of it. 😂😂
Honestly when I realized they were the same person and not 2 separate “Bloody Marys” I was not impressed 😂
There have been millions of Marys
throughout history, just because a queen has the same name as a much more modern phantom mirror-witch who claws up your face when you summon her doesn’t mean they’re the same Mary.
Honestly Beckys voice is so relaxing I sit through the commercial breaks
A lot of people say Scrubs is the most accurate of medical tv shows. The creator of the show Bill Lawrence went to college with a guy named John & the show/character J.D is based on the friend. John is now a cardiologist in LA.
My fave eps are the episodes are the ones Michael J. Fox & Brendon Fraser guest star on. If you watch the series don't watch s9. Even the cast & creator joke saying Season 9 isn't a thing😂
And the real JD (John) was a consultant on the show and would be on set advising while they were shooting
It’s literally my favorite show. And those episodes and the Cox breakdown are my favorite episodes.
For sure. Every single doctor (including my dad) and nurse I know say that Scrubs is the most accurate medical show ever.
@@EliseHanson216 same. I’m a nurse here in NYC and maybe Maggie’s hospital is full of sweethearts but my first job had it’s fair share of “mean” doctors but we had some amazing doctors as well!
@@blueangel2539 she’s a paediatric nurse isn’t she? Paediatric doctors better be nice to kids!
“Becky & the Ouija Board” sounds like a fun seasonal tween novel!!!
Maggie and her skin just pure perfection.... i need some tips asap
She’s a little too shiny. Needs a touch of powder. The lights are reflecting off her forehead.
If you love ghosts, creepy things, mysteries, cryptids, etc, I highly recommend the Spoop Hour podcast! It's two fun gals talking about creepy stuff and snacks!
a new episode of "you can sit with us" right when i leave school? we love to see it ✨
Becky, that middle part is WORKING for you!
Can we continue to encourage the sex positivity!?!? I love the podcast where arial spoke about how she would read romance books, I think it would be nice if we didn’t shame people talking about it or laugh at them. I think it was a great episode and I feel it would’ve been nice to hear more with less shaming, encourage women to talk about sex etc if they want
Sleep paralysis incident for sure, when Rachel couldn't move in bed and heard the water running. 100%.
it’s cold and wet where im at this is the best reason to just sit in and relax, also tuesday is my new favorite day of the week hehe
scrubs to me has one of the best humor/drama balances for a half an hour TV show I've seen. especially from the early 2000's
JD and Turk have a podcast now! They are rewatching the show and talking about an episode and everything that happened behind the scenes!! If you’re a scrub fan, you should check it out!!
Becky bringing up Supernatural gave me life
Becky, I'm going to need you to make a list of all these amazing shows you talk about!
How does Rachel’s life gets more interesting every time she has done everything
This friend group is so pretty. I can't believe how 4 gorgeous women can be together. It's powerful
like blackpink hahahahah!
I love the fact that Maggie explains all the medical stuff so well. Really takes me back to my med school days.
Could you tell me at which part in this they talk about Scrubs?? If you know
@@kparker905 almost towards the end
I also sleep on my side with my ears covered, is mainly because of an ingrained myth/fear about bugs crawling into your ears and eatting brains that I have since accidentally watching a budget horror movie as a toddler 🤣
Becky casually mentioning Supernatural ending nearly made me cry
I will sit through the three minute ads for these ladies. That's how much I love this podcast.
Ariel!
I literally just posted about how
I’m down for pretty much anything but if you break out a ouija board I will get up and leave.
Getting to hear miles laughing in the background adds just a little more positivity 😊
LMAO i relate so hard to Ariel with the blanket thing to sleep, i watched my mom play diablo when i was like 8 and i saw the vampires biting necks so i started covering my neck and ear as if that’s gonna protect me lmfao. i STILL do it to this day and it’s hard to fall asleep any other way💀
I'm also a former Catholic and my only lingering superstition is also in regards to Ouija boards. 😅
I have permission for a medical student to sit in on my csec with my daughter. It was her first one and the poor girl looked like she was going to be sick and pass out. We both made it through and I found myself saying “you did great!” Lol. I hope she’s doing great things now 6yrs later :)
As someone who grew up watching and LOVING Scrubs, I tried to rewatch it recently and 1000% haaaated it. lmao ;;
I LOVE THIS PODCAST SO MUCH, IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I HAVE 5 OLDER SISTERS 🥺💖💖💖
i love this podcast too! though im the same age as them and it reminds me of when I used to work in retail and would chat with my coworkers about random stuff before my break ended lol
There are four of them; is the fifth sister Miles?
You should have a Rachel reacts to a British show called Yonderland.
The Main Character, Debbie, has a lot in common with Rachel and I'd love to see what she thinks about Debbie's idiots, I mean, the Elders of Yonderland.
I just noticed little Wes’ picture behind Maggie!! ❤️❤️❤️
Becky!! Always happy to see all try wives present :’) of course not forgetting Rachel too
The ouija boards you see on shelves were marketed as toys but spirit boards are older then the toy company and are most definitely not toys or for games. Spirit board exist in many cultures in different forms but all have the the same base and purpose. Moral: if you don't wanna screw with the dead dont play
1 Arial on ghosts and Becky and Maggie don't touch weegie boards, catholic upbringing being the cause of this fear, and horror in general and scary movies
2 Scrubs 39:00, it gets good at this point
50:00 Rapid response
3 54:00 OBGYN and saying no to students watching
"i'm not gonna say anything to offend a ghost just in case"
if only this mentality could be applied to BIPOC, or LGBTQIA+ folks... :')
54:59 "everything comes down to poo!" It's a catchy tune 😂😂
What Rachel experienced was actually sleep paralysis. Where your brain wakes up before your body but your still conscious. I have it when I'm stressed or I sleep on my back. What she described was that. Where you cant move and you either hear or see things. But I definitely believe in ghosts. I just know that that's one thing you can explain.
If you like spooking yourself there is a really easy way to do it. Go into a bathroom, or any room that gets pitch black and has a mirror, stand in front of the mirror and spark a lighter. Maybe alternate between short stretches where the lighter is lit vs just sparks and to really kick it up a notch smile creepily while doing it
I’m getting this Tuesday night where I’m at and it’s the perfect listen before going to bed
