Thank you all for watching this video. The views, comments, likes, shares and subscribers this video has brought in has been awesome. Sometimes I question myself as to why I do this, why I put my beautiful wife through this, but the success of this video re affirms my beliefs on the channel. Thank you all so much!
The sauce was pretty good, but yeah, you could definitely jazz this up easily. I think my next cooking video will have a lot more jazzing up. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching
I for one are glad that you shared this adventure with us! Yes I've purchased some things at dollar general. Not quite like this! Thanks for the meal prep ideas! ✌️🤝👌👍👍🥾💯🫡
Thank you, I appreciate that. A meal on the trail can be as fancy or not so fancy. I'm still not 100% sure about the pre cooked Pasta, further research is required.
FYI I would have filled the pan with river water and boil both packages in said river water for 10-min. Then combind both of them in the "pot" then eat.
I've had the meatballs before. Not inexpensive or bad. Got them at my local food Lion, and ate them right out of the package,... cold. Gonna keep a lookout for the Barillas cooked pasta.
It definitely wasn't bad for what it is. Stay tuned, though, because I've got an idea for something a little more gourmet. Hopefully I can make that video this week.
@bobgonewild1878 I know and thank you so much. I really do appreciate that very much and I hope to keep making videos that you and others enjoy. We have a busy week ahead if us here. My brother is coming down and needs some help out at his mother in laws farm. I might try to get some footage of that. He is also the only person who I know that is a bigger gear need than me, so he might bring some interest items to try out.
It looked good. And I'll take your word that it tasted good. I will be looking for it. Quick & easy I just went on a hike to camp and fish near my house. Havn't been to the spot in years. It's so overgrown that I turned around. Going to cook my spam in the back yard.
It maybe could have used some Tobasco, but that sauce is actually pretty dang good. I think if I cooked it longer than just long enough to warm it up, the noodles might have softened a bit
I like the sauce they come in. The meatballs themselves... eehhhh. They are OK. Thanks for watching. I'm going to have to try these in the microwave now.
It was.. edible. On the trail it would make a good meal for sure and it's easy enough to prepare (or eat cold). At home?... you could do better. I don't know, maybe my beautiful wife has me spoiled. Thanks for watching
It definitely could have used it! However, I suspect that if I let it cook longer in the sauce it would have cooked the noodles a little better. Thank you so much!
Dollar general no thanks i ask my old lady to got some stuff from there i want to try the food that other people got n tryed . I got some over ages food and dreaks from there never again. This is number 3 video and enjoyed it and yes i subscribe your video the first time i saw it and all of your videos i seen were great and will hopefully see more. Thank you for sharing.
Thank for watching. I am very glad that you are enjoying them. I'm thinking about trying to get out tomorrow and doing a mess kit cooking video. I'm thinking chili Mac? Thanks again! I appreciate it very much
Looks pretty good. I might have to quit my personal boycott of Dollar General and see if I can find the meatballs. It would beat starving if something happened. I like pouched foods. Easy to carry......You are a funny man, "went to Dollar General to pick up my wife some tampons." lol
I've used that line in 3 or 4 videos, thinking it would be a funny reoccurring theme. You'd be surprised how many people don't like it.... I am going to keep doing it for sure! Thanks!
Those weren't part chocolate right? 😅 On a serious note, I was thinking it looked like the noodles needed another packet of sauce, but end result seemed to be about right. Recently watch another channel who found these and makes his own DIY MREs and then taste tests them. Dad Adventures MREs? Not 100% on the name. Will have to go visit his channel and edit comment as needed to give correct channel name. Dad Budget Adventures is the channel I was thinking of.
It probably would have been better if I let them cook longer. I let them cook long enough to warm up, but not much longer than that. Results may vary I guess. Either way, totally worthy of a trail meal. Thank you
This is not an “MRE”. Please don’t confuse people. Yes, it is ready to eat, but it doesn’t meet any of what makes a true MRE. That being longevity over years and ingredients to sustain an army.
@@OliveDrabAlliance Maybe clarify and say a meal ready to eat for a day hike. Not trying to be a jerk, but there are some that don’t know the difference.
@CreachterZ I understand what you are trying to say and I understand that there are people who won't understand the difference. Those are not the people I am trying to reach, there is no help for people who can't tell the difference between a military or humanitarian MRE and a meal ready to eat from Dollar General. I think a lot of people can appreciate that you can put together a portable meal that is ready to eat with little or no preparation from your local Dollar General store. Whether it is for survival, camping or backpacking use, there are a lot of resources right at our fingertips. I really do appreciate your comments and I don't take it as rude at all.

Add tablespoon of water n teaspoon of butter to warm/steam the noodles a minute or two, stir, then add sauce

Great for a quick meal
Super easy to make too.

Very interesting!
You know, I bet that would have cooked those noodles better.
Thank you for the excellent comment!
hmm...haven't seen those at mine but will have to look again
Not the best grub, but it is a meal that just needs heated up (or not). Super portable and super easy!
Thanks for watching
Have you ever had these before?
What did you think?
I've had the meatballs before. Not inexpensive or bad. Got them at my local food Lion, and ate them right out of the package,... cold. Gonna keep a lookout for the Barillas cooked pasta.
@robosnitz they had a couple different kinds of noodles packaged like this
nice job lov your videos be safe
Wil do, you be safe as well.
Thank you.
Looks perdy good

I Haven't forgiven Dollar General for trying to have Dixie arrested!
Who is Dixie?
What happened?
I have eaten this meal. . . and it is NASTY.... Good Video
Thank you.
Yeah, not the best. It's calories. I do like the sauce the meatballs come in. Not a fan of the meatballs.

Should have added a smidge of water from your canteen and cooked them a bit longer. And brought some Parmesan cheese to the party.
It definitely could have used it! However, I suspect that if I let it cook longer in the sauce it would have cooked the noodles a little better.
Thank you so much!
Lmao that opening statement had me rolling😂
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
me too!
I did the exact same thing but not on the trail it was got but them balls are salty lol
Nobody likes salty balls!
Hahaha!
Thank you very much!
Is it any lighter than a can of Beefaroni ??? Have fun stay safe.
Probably more weight than a can of Chef Boiardee. Definitely more space. Some people just like to cook.
Don't forget the Tabasco Sauce!!!
Thank you!
Awesome video made me hungry 😋 you take care my friend and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Thanks buddy! I appreciate it, and may God bless you and yours as well.

Anything's possible with a single burner
Everything does taste better on a Coleman.
For sure.
