- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- In Part 2 of the two-part series, Jeff Durbin and Allie Beth Stuckey discuss the definition of the "end of days," covenant breakers, the judgment of tribulation, and how the dating of the book of Revelation can also affect your stance on eschatology. Finally, Jeff addresses how America correlates to these "end times" and how postmillennialism may have affected the creation of the Constitution.
Allie is also joined by Pastor Joel Webbon of Right Response Ministries in California, and he shares his perspective in meeting up as a church congregation despite the orders given by California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

I am Ethiopian listening this from the Netherlands and I can't tell you enough how thrilled I am watching this. It is like I am literally having a fellowship with brethren. Postmill is the most exciting, motivating and energizing view of scripture, not only that, it makes all the sense. Brother Jeff I am so grateful for your ministry, you helped me a lot in unpacking some of the most difficult Bible verses. Thank you! God bless you!
2Th1:5-8
This is how brothers and sisters should discuss their differences. I’m beyond impressed!
The Scriptures alone tell us that.
Loved this from Jeff Durbin (paraphrasing): "Two thousand years ago, we started out with eleven very confused disciples, today there are Christians all over the globe who bow the knee to Jesus, and we look around and say, gosh, look how bad things are." Amen! Or as Jesus put it, "...and the gates of hell shall not prevail"
The problem is we have failed miserably in the Great Commission which is to go into all the world and make disciples teaching them TO OBEY ALL THAT I COMMANDED YOU......Christians are not obeying God....thats why we lose....thats why Jesus has to come back and rescue us because our enemies are ruling over us and will kill us.....We dont win in history like the post mill position says we do.....Jesus returns to destroy His enemies according to 2 Thes 1:7-10......But thats also why God gets all the glory and not men.
Jeff Durbin... have this guy on AGAIN. And again. And again. AND AGAIN. Awesome.
Would love to see an end times discussion/debate with Jeff and John MacArthur.
Yes me too!! Alley invite John MacArthur to represent pre-trib view please
Yes!!!
MacArthur probably wouldn’t debate. He can when he needs to but between him and Durbin, I’d expect a discussion format much more.
Yes!
I honestly don't think McArthur would want to
I'm still very sick Im praying to God I would appreciate it if anyone could pray for me I'm still suffering please pray for me I'm praying for everyone everyday God bless you all 🙏
Praying for you right now
Hello, brother, may the Lord comfort and relieve you 🙏🏼. I was listening to this blessed message by Joni Earicson Tada yesterday, and it so blessed my heart. Would you take a few minutes and listen? I pray so. Be blessed...

About to do it right now Steve ! Peace and comfort of Jesus Christ be with you

HAVE HIM AGAINNNNNNN!!!!! ahhhh loved this conversation SO MUCH!!
Make sure to subscribe to his churches channel! studios.Apologia Studios. They put out amazing content!
Also enjoyed Pastor Joel Webbon a lot. Very sound teaching.
Joel explains why it is so important for the church to meet in person - preach, pray, sing, see (communion, baptism). I have felt like I lost my church family during this church lockdown in Oregon. Online is a hollow replacement for fellowship. Thank you!
Check out Athey Creek Christian Fellowship in Oregon if you’re still needing to find a congregation to connect with! They do in person!
@@hannahm7290funny. I live 20 min from Athey Creek Fellowship. Enjoy Pastor Brett’s preaching, even though I am not a premillennial dispensationist.
This is fascinating! I must reread all of the verses & chapters mentioned!
Jeff Durbin is the one who got me seriously studying the Word. I saw one of his videos & how well he knew & could quote scripture & I was ashamed that I did not know it nearly as well. I saw that video almost 3 years ago & have pretty much read the Word daily since then. The more I read & study, the more I want to!
A close reading of Matthew 24 shows that the evil are the “raptured” and the good remain to serve.
“The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.””
Psalm 110:1
He does it. We do not.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10
35:48 Wherever you happen to fall on Eschatology, Jeff’s perspective that we’ve gone from 11 to millions is a Faith builder in the Jesus’ ability to transfer of authority and power to His church.
It also says something about the Caleb/Joshua/David view of warfare over their defeatist brethren.
Thanks, Allie & Jeff!
Space case that had nothing to do with defeats it had to do with faith. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
What a looney false dichotomy.
Jeff durbin is the man teaching these people the truth
I totally agree with Jeff Durbin. Thank you so much for having him on Allie. This message needs to be preached. Jesus already came in judgment on the covenant breakers. Jesus destroyed all of Judea including Jerusalem and the Temple and killed all the people who killed His Son. People need to FEAR God because God is harsh towards those who rebel against Him.
I’ve always been confused about my end times beliefs. I care about American politics (and the world), and I’ve been torn about how to pray and what to do. I’ll think, “we’ll, if things have to get worse for Christ to come, do I even pray/try for it to get better?” This is very helpful. I’m going to study and pray about this teaching.
These were my favorite episodes you’ve ever done. He was so clear and helpful. Really appreciated how you engaged with him knowing your views are a bit different.
I'm having a hard time understanding what he is explaining. I am new to reading the bible and i thought that there is gonna be a rapture before the 7 years tribulation but I'm confused as to what this man is trying to say it is a lot of new information to me and it is hard to put together.
Maddie Towns I understand! Basically there are different ways of understanding how a passage of Scripture should or could be interpreted and eschatology or the study of the end times is one of those things in scripture that people interpret differently. But that’s why it’s not the most important issue. The Gospel, which is the main foundational content of the Christian Faith is very clear and not up for interpretation. But with end times some people read the Bible literally, and some read it as if it is more prophetic in tone. So he is explaining the more literal perspective of the end times, and that leads to his conclusion that the “end times” we know of were actually lived right after the time of Christ. Many people hold the view you said you do, and I believe Allie Stuckey does as well. Hope I wasn’t more confusing!
@@BethanyJoyWilson ahh I see thank you. So seeing how he is saying the end times could have already been lived through... where does that leave us now?
Maddie Towns in his perspective we should expect the world to gradually become more Christian overall as the Church grows and the kingdom of God covers the earth. So he would encourage Christians to have that mindset in whatever work they do, knowing that whether you’re a lawyer, doctor, garbageman or teacher, you are the hands and feet of Jesus sharing the good news every day. And he also believes we are still at the very beginning of the growth of the church. So he doesn’t believe an “end” will come, like the return of Christ, until many hundreds or possibly thousands of years from now. Whether or not we agree eschatologically, I do thinks his perspective is so important for Christians to consider every day, that no matter what we do we should have our living hope in mind and do all we do to the glory of God to share his love with everyone we meet!
@@BethanyJoyWilson and this guy actually did his research so that's comforting. Thank you for being so kind and for answering my questions and concerns
Durbin, a great man putting away the end-times myths taught in American churches for the past 200 years. Keep it up! This world is ours through Christ!
"This world is ours": do you mean like Dominionism?
At what point in history does Jesus call to His people to "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins..." ?
You know: the one who commits fornication with kings, and rides the Beast, and is drunk on the blood of the martyrs (witnesses) of Jesus? When does this happen, that we are supposed to seek political power ('by any means necessary', apparently) in our own time?
@@lindajohnson4204 Hi. I'm not sure what you mean by "Dominionism", but God does call us to take dominion over the earth. Jesus calls us moreover to "disciple" all nations, not just mere evangelism. We are promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail over us .
Revelation up to Chapter 20 has already been fulfilled. We have come out of the Old Covenant, left Judaism and it's oral law behind and have been transferred into the Kingdom of his Son (Col 1:13). Not just through "political" power will we win but power in all spheres of life.
@@kylec8950 I'm not always prepared to answer this, but it is dead wrong. I would suggest the writing about Dominionism by Sarah Leslie of Herescope. Consider that if man, not God, forms a so-called "theocracy", it is by definition Antichrist, because mere man, as Christ, is a false Christ. The time table of the Bible has to be denied and set aside to pretend that we have a charge to take over the world, when the Bible, read as it is written, without dishonestly allegorizing it, says that Jesus, Himself, will do these things, not us.
Here is a definition of Dominionism, by Sarah Leslie at the beginning of a review on a book on it by Oriel Steinkamp and Sandy Simpson. The review segueways into an earlier article about it. Search "Herescope + Dominionism" and it will be down in the page, about halfway, when I looked.
"Dominionism is the idea of building a paradise on earth. It is zealously espoused by both the political Right and the political Left, and each side agitates with a religious fervor for their versions of the cause. Dominionism claims to save the earth, not individual souls in need of redemption by Jesus Christ. In order to achieve its utopian goals, Dominionism believes that the ends justify the means. Dominionist leaders are intent on transforming political, social, religious and cultural institutions in order to foment their revolution. They champion new and old forms of totalitarianism to attain results. Their final solution is planetary transformation. Various Christian and New Age versions of Dominionism include the idea of mankind achieving godhood, thus perfecting the planet, and they've shown they are willing to work together, converging their politics. But in the process you will have to give up your rights and freedoms.
"Given the significant increase in Dominionism as a religious force for transformation in society, the recent book _Dominionism!,_ published by Sandy Simpson, at "Deception in the Church" is timely and needed. ..."

I love Jeff Durbin and Joel Webbons ministries! Great podcast!
It is an exceptional good and sound teaching! God bless Jeff Durbin!
This was so so so helpful for what I’ve been studying. Everything else has been so confusing and you have indeed made this relatable. Thank you Allie!
So helpful and encouraging- we are in the kingdom of God and Christ is reigning!
How in earth do figure? Where is Satan? Is he chained or in the lake of fire? Child sex trafficking is rampant. Government is corrupt. The Muslims want to wipe the Jews off the map. And how offensive is Jeff Durbin the way he talks about Israel. He won't even say the name Israel. He calls them covenant breakers. Well, guess what? They are covenant breakers. But God is not a covenant breaker. He cannot lie! What about all the promises he made to His chosen people? Is God a promise breaker? Replacement theology is straight from the pit of Hell. Jeff Durbin is extremely deceived, and so are you if you think this world is getting better.
Jeff Durbin's comments on looking back to 1st century Christians compared to what is going on right now was huge.
All the same verses I've been over, this guy hits. he's right on the money.
This was an interesting conversation with Pastor Durbin. Different views spoken in love. And Pastor Webbon you make many great point about the necessity of gathering and the presence of Christ in those church services. Ultimately I have a clearer picture of the Church, and not only the Western/US church. Great food for thought. Thanks Allie.
Loved this forum today, Thank you Allie
My Reformed brother Durbin, I love you. I love all my christian brothers.
This is awesome stuff. Changed your walk with the Lord, and as Doug Wilson’s said, even something as simple as planting a hedge in your yard is something you start thinking about in terms of future great great grandkids. Your works become things you want to bless the future Kingdom and Church.
Amazing... amazing... amazing... inspiring too!
Thanks for Pastor Webbon as well. I have been enjoying his channel. Really helpful.

You did it again Allie so a great discussion even though I am not a post-millennialist. Shoutout from the UK 🇬🇧
Joel Webbon brought truth. Amen brother. I took the church (the gathering) for granted for so long.
I have never heard a premillenialist say "well I will just hide away and wait for the Lord's coming" when looking at the culture wars and the social justice problems of today. That MAY be what some think, and if they do I wonder about their true conversion, but I have never heard anyone articulate that way of living. Ever.
No one may say those that but it changes your entire outlook which can absolutely effect the way you talk about things or do things.
I have seen many on line saying "I am just so tired of this world. I sure hope the Lord comes soon."
They have a defeatist, depressed attitude.
@@joshstrange1244 I would argue that that assertion is speculative. Lets be careful of taking what Durbin says as the absolute truth. My experience is just as valid as his, and in the end that is what the disagreement is about. It is only theoretical that a premillenialist would look at the end times and the coming of the Lord as less of a desperate moment in time for the lost as a post-millenialist. I have plenty of questions concerning Durbin's interp of end times but this one assertion I found to be impossible for him to defend. If he doesn't want to adopt a dispensational theological approach to Biblical hermeneutics then fine, but don't use straw men as part of your defense. I have lived too long and been studying Christianity too long to have something as lazy as that to be taken seriously.
I agree, all it has done for me is to more Urgently share the good news of Christ encourage people to re God's word because when the Anti-Christ comes we really need to know God's word to know what is true and what is untrue

I love to see pastors like Joel Webbon! Gathering together is so important
Great job Jeff.
I would definitely recommend Gary DeMar’s book, “Last Days Madness.” Dispensationalism has many illogical and unbiblical tenets. Many Disps are simply unaware of them. It took me about 6-8 years to shed, layer by layer, this system (which btw, was invented around 1830).
Yep, DeMar is a good resource for this view.
Eschatology was perverted by Jesuits false doctrines and narratives of futurism and Dispensationalism the main focus was 70 weeks of Daniel in the Oliver discord deceptions
@@Zipfreer Yes it was perverted by the Jesuits. Francisco Riberra created the myth of futurism and "Antichrist" super-villian.
I'm shedding that myth now.
@@kylec8950 have you read the bible
Thank you for sharing the postmillenial view on your channel! I love Jeff!
I once watched a talk Jeff Durbin gave explaining his biblical defence of Amillenialism and his examples just reinforced my Pre-Trib views. After hearing both sides of the argument I'm quite happy to plant my flag on the Pre-Trib side 🏁
Jeff is post mil
I'm in complete agreement with Jeff Durbin on the prophecies of Jesus being fulfilled in the judgment of Israel in 70 AD. What I have trouble understanding is the book of Revelation from a postmillenial view. What does Jeff do with the 7 seals and the 7 bowls of wrath? Basically I would really love for someone to exegete Revelation 16 for me.
Read Doug Wilsons book "When the man comes around"
@@Cinnamonbuns13 I'll check it out. Thanks!
School for Prophets has good videos on this topic. There are a lot of types and anti types in the Bible, what happened in 70AD is a type of what is to happen again.
There’s no way we could possibly exegete all this in a youtube comment. +1 for “When the man comes around”
@@nathanielkeane8462 I was definitely seeking resources. That'd be crazy to attempt all that in a comment 🤣 I'm sure some have tried though haha
While I agree with Jeff that some of the prophecies are for the church and applied only to them, it seems a stretch that what is described in the book of revelation was only for the early church. So many of these things have not happened in the time since the church began.
that entire discussion was absolutely fabulous... God Bless
JEFF DURBIN IS A SPIRITUAL SAVAGE WARRIOR.... johnnny cage of mortal combat... which Jeff also was.... is a wimp to the Jeff Durbin of today
Absolutely love this interview!
Matthew 24 was for the Jewish nation, not Gentiles. For Christians? 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 "Behold, I tell you a mystery" and Titus 2:13 "The blessed hope".
There is another view in pre-millenialism, other than dispensational. There is the progressive dispensational position- which views the events discussed in the Olivet Discourse as both having already occurred (such as AD 70 events) and not yet(such as the man of lawlessness, etc). Mike Winger, a Bible teacher on UA-cam, holds and has explained this on his eschatology discussion video. Made a lot of sense to me.
Bravo to Joel for nailing the fact that those that submit to the Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights are the ones being obedience to our governing authority and the rebels should be punished regardless if they are a state governor or even the president etc.
Sorry if I missed Jeff Durbin missing a very important passage for his position but for an even stronger proof, I remember him mentioning the first half of Acts chapter 2 but if you keep reading through Acts chapter 2 especially verses 29-36, this really cinches down the fact that Gods promise to seat one of his descendents on the thrown was fulfilled in the resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father. Note the Davidic promise is referenced "God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne" then immediately says "He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption" and then goes on to quote the exact same prophecy the Apostle Paul referenced "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
Until I make thy foes thy footstool." This ought to really seal the fact that Christ's ascension to the right hand of the Father WAS the fulfillment of God's promise to king David that one of his descendants would sit on his throne.
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
This also meshes perfectly with what Jesus proclaimed in Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
For a more detailed Biblical defense of Christs and His Apostles interpretation of prophecy, see Gregory Barkman's sermon series on this topic, I highly recommend it:

From Eden to Abraham = 2000 years (when God called His nation for the first time).
2000 years later, Jesus comes through the back door of a stable in Bethlehem, paving a path for redemption.
2000 years later...you have us....
It’s soon guys.
Thanks for putting this stuff out there!
My question for either of you is, how do you know which passages refer to the future coming VS the coming of Christ in AD70? Specifically, can you point to the passages of Christ's coming, and show how it is either his future or past coming...
That’s exactly what I’m wondering. I’ve been trying to find partial preterists talking about the coming of Jesus that is future to us. They say they believe it but I can’t find them talking about it.
Douglas Wilson's book "Heaven Misplaced" is the best, most succinct book on Postmillenialism I know of, in case anyone wants to do some follow up reading :)
Follow that with his "When the Man Comes Around" -- his full commentary on the book of Revelation.
Thanks for the rec. When it comes to this particular topic, I often feel like the more I read, the more confused I get. But I'm willing to keep reading different things!

I felt that way when I was premil, I didn't worry about culture because I felt he was coming soon, not saying all premil believe that but I knew a lot who did. Right now I am still figuring things out, I tend to lean towards postmil but my focus right now is presuppositional apologetics eschatology is next on my list. Matthew 24 is the reason I am no longer premil that and all the soon passages its impossible to defend from a premil level.

What Jeff says all makes sense but I would like to hear him talk about the 2 witnesses and how knowledge has dramatically increased over the past 200 years
I can appreciate his knowledge of the Bible, ability to recite passages and and context, but I struggle with the theological stance.
Thanks Allie! Hadn't seen this before but really appreciated it. Well done!

I enjoy listening to Jeff Durbin. He has done some really good work with Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, and on abortion. But as Calvinist I believe he holds also to replacement theology. Like when he said that "We follow a Palestinian Jew" at 33:32-33:42 minutes/seconds in the video. Thus I don't hold the same theology on Israel as he does. Would like to see him debate Jack Hibbs on the rapture.
@Brent Lohrenz
Incorrect. Postmillenialism is not replacement theology. That’s a misnomer. Post millennialism and covenant theology is the fulfillment of the covenants. Which Israel is part of the church now. I use to go to Calvary chapel chino hills. Jack would not know what hit him if he debated Durban.

@@markluna3749 Dalton Thomas and Joel Richardson have a great teaching on Revelation. The way the Olivet Discourse lines up with the seals opened my eyes. And as of today, with the Afghanistan disaster, I think next on the prophetic is Daniel ch 8. Tell ya I'm way more calm about end times. I used to look for the rapture at every turn. "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Chris Roseborough (Fighting for the Faith) professes to be an amillennialist. Being that he is a biblically solid pastor, it would be an interesting point of view to hear...
He's take is a bit different as he is a Lutheran. It's almost a hybrid of A and Post. Interesting take though.
The A-mil perspective basically sees God's People "The Church" in a No-win Stalemate vs Devil's forces all the way to the End of History.
I like Chris Roseboro a LOT but I believe he shares Martin Luthers fatal Theological flaw, his disastrous "Two Kingdoms" view. Luther was a blessed Reformer greatly used BUT he got the nature of the KINGDOM wrong - so wrong in fact that Scandinavian & German Socialism errors are the tragic result:
The flaw is investing the "State" with a Divine Imprimatur and then untethering it from God's Law.
In short, they rip God's warning to Tyrants, in Psalm 2, from their Bibles and then act shocked when the Ungodly multiply & dominate - which leads to massive pessimism on their part.
Contrast this with the English / Scottish / New Colonial view called the "Puritan Hope" that stressed a Unified Kingdom - Psalm 2, 22, 24, 72 110, 149 - Isaiah 9:6-7, I Corinthians 15, Acts 2 (Peter's Pentecost Sermon) + Eternal Rewards & Punishments for ALL men, especially including leaders & elected officials.
In Colonial New England they had Election day sermons to remind the new office holders of their Psalm 2 charge:
"Be wise O Kings, be instructed ye judges of the EARTH, serve the LORD with fear & rejoice with trembling, kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way when His wrath is kindled but a little.
How Blessed are all they that TRUST in Him".
I was raised Lutheran, then in Fundamentalist Dispensationalism & now by God's Grace, today optimistic Reformed Postmillennialism.
I try to appreciate all angles & retain a loving Catholicity - not confusing Essentials & non-essentials: Eschatology isn't an Essential, it's not stated in any of the Historic Creeds.
I see it like this: its a "Conclusive Expectation" a deduction that flows from ones Theological position, tempered by our experience & view of History.
If we don't know History in some reasonable depth & how LIBERTY developed in Western Christian Civilization then every time the Battle gets 'Hot' we'll either Faint or Retreat.
ONLY a solid resolute Strength from Christ our Reigning King is going to keep us steadfast.
I'm blessed to hear this conversation - Pastor Jeff's really explaining this well & Allie is allowing him while asking relevant questions.
Sorry so long - I hope that sheds light on A-mil Vs Postmillennialism !

I would like to ask Jeff if the tribulation was during Nero, then what about the passages in Revelation concerning the 144,000, the Antichrist who dies and is raised after 3 days, the two witnesses, etc.?
Yes! My thoughts exactly...
Christopher Bell ok I appreciate that, but it doesn’t answer the question of the antichrist, the beast, and the false prophet, not to mention the treaty with Israel.
@Christopher Bell I've heard that answer before, but it still doesn't explain how "The Law and the Prophets" were slain, and the world rejoiced at their death, and then "The Law and the Prophets" rose to life 3 1/2 days later to the astonishment of the world, and then they were called up to heaven. It makes a lot more sense to take this literally as two men who were killed and rose from the dead.
Was there a mark of the beast???

Allie, You’re so patient to allow him to talk about this view without interrupting.. that would be challenging. A bit of an overly intellectual point of view if you ask me. I don’t think He would make it that difficult for believers to understand. Lots of issues with this view and if nothing else, makes me want to study more.
Exactly. The literal approach requires far less mental gymnastics. Blessed are those who read and understand. Revelation is understandable, especially if you understand the OT. Keep it literal and everything falls into place.
Carol Berubee the Word is Alive and more prevalent now than ever! Reading Psalms is like reading “today”
That is my exact opinion! Reminds me of the calvinist vs arminian argument. I feel that Jesus did not make it this complicated, it's pretty straightforward in Scripture. I personally hold the premillenial view and I feel John MacArthur does a great job explaining that...but I do love Jeff Durbin and his ministry!! Not a gospel issue but it can definitely be dividing!
It's really not that complicated, and takes lots 9f study. Do you think the omniscient God wouldn't have depth and difficulty in dividing His Word, that Is the beauty that when studying you can find how amazing the LORD is? This is the living Word that has lasted for centuries and the worlds smartest people (most prior to the enlightenment) debated and discussed on a deep level. I would test you to truly study and spend time looking into this it will blow your mind and reveal more to you about how sovereign the LORD truly is. Either way God is good and the body has many members!
@@carolberubee mental gymnastics, I would argue that this isn't contorting Gods holy Word, but spending time and diligence to further understand Him and to read it correctly, while looking back through history to learn more about that time and what millenial of thoughtful thinkers have applied amd come to understand. I would agree that the premise is purely simple repent from sins and turn to Jesus Christ. However this requires learning about Jesus and God and how we get to know them through His Word. does it truly describe the Christian religion to be easy? I would contend that this isn't a very theistic view. Does God require a transformation and diligence from His followers? Does He want us to simplify His Word because it's easier that way? I am not trying to argue but to push you closer with God, and what He has revealed to us.
It’s really quite simple. More simple than straight literalism. It’s simply keeping in mind WHO Jesus was talking to WHO the apostles were writing to. Read it with history in mind, and everything falls into place. 😊
BS
You also have to factor in that God intended for us to read those and apply them in some way to our time too.
Yes! I agree. The context is so important! I just finished “End Times Fiction” by Gary Demar. It was awesome and answered so many questions I had (I’m still pretty new to Post-Mil)
.....The Bible commands us to "Study and Rightly Divide the Word of Truth" 2 Timothy 2:15. KJV
Salvation is free and easy cause Jesus did the hard, part but the Bible isn't an easy book by any means. Its the Word of God! Gods mind is so much greater than our pea brains. Lol. The study you put into it will reflect what God reveals to you on an individual level. Its a "reaping and sowing" concept. We cant be spoon fed by listening to podcast and think were gonna grow spiritually. Thats essentially just a head knowledge of another flawed human being and not true understanding. And there is a difference!
I believe we are to not only study who they were talking to, but also the timing/dispensation. Jeff reads the bible thru the eyes of old covenant and new covenant. And believes the idea that the Jews/Israel are done with. I see a complete opposite of that idea throughout the new testament. Anyhow, just thought I'd throw out another perspective. Have a good one!
@@KingjamesAV1611 I agree with you on the difficulty of biblical exegesis and I think we agree that the Mathew 24 and Revelation prophecies have an application in our day and age.
I differ with you on Israel and agree with Jeff on the Old Covenant/New Covenant.
I hold to the view that all in Christ are true Israel and all outside of Christ are outside of true Israel.
We can disagree while agreeing in the love of Christ.
Thank you for your perspective and the gracious spirit with which you presented it.
Be blessed.
That statement, the church is in its infancy, that is profound and I agree with Jeff. If the church members were maturing as the church goes on, we wouldn’t have all these divisive denominations and false teachers. Unbelievers would be the minority. It will be a long time before Christ comes back. He’s in the process of building a victorious kingdom and not one that bows to the world system. In a sense, we are pioneers and should never give up.
I was submerged into the endless gaping void
No air to breathe, no heart that beats
There was no life to carry me along
Then the flares, they turned into flames
And they carried my soul
Through the endless pain, I ascend
Then the flames they turn into flesh
And the making me whole
As I ascend
The LORD may save billions before the Last Day, which could take a while, yet He can save 'whom He will' in a day.
His mercy 'endureth forever', and He is desiring to 'give grace to the humble', even 'more grace'! (Ja.4:6, Ps.149:4)
The profundity of the Cross has changed, is changing, and will continue to change the world.
If we are in the infancy of the church that’s discouraging! I understand God wants none to perish & all to come to repentance. But there’s so much pain I’m hoping & praying He comes quickly!
So Pastor Jeff doesn’t believe in a rapture at all?
I’m listening to Dr Andy Woods and agree with him that Matthew 24 is directed to Israel and not the church. The prophecy of some verses was fulfilled in 70AD. It’s on YT and he backs up with scripture.
Andy Woods is amazing! Jeff Durbin should debate him. Andy is an amazing bible scholar. He would put Jeff to shame.
What Jeff misses is that the first century was the end of the Age of the Covenant of Israel.
We are now living in the end of the Age of the for the entire world.
There is a repeat of those prophetic events on a global scale.
Yes God’s plan is so amazing...prophetic events can be both fulfilled in the past and yet to come again in the future.
How do you know God does both
@@ttownsupreme2183 That principle is all throughout scripture.
For example in Malachi it says God shall send Elijah before the Lord to prepare the way for the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord.
Our Lord said that John the Baptist was the fulfillment of that, yet we know that God's plan for earth is not complete we still await the completion of the Day of the Lord and Elijah in another form as Revelation 11 suggests by the Two Witnesses.
@@thenowchurch6419 So you are relying on situational themes that may or may not apply.....
Remember John addressed Revelation to the 7 churches of ASIA
he said he was there brother and partner in the tribulation...he also told them in Chapter 1 these things would come QUICKLY.
He said"Even so,come, Lord Jesus"
I used to be a futurist like you...however...the anxiety the futurist congregation church is for reading somebody else's mail.
John was warning of impending doom against these churches and what to expect
Jesus said that some of them standing here would not see death until the son of Man comes in with his Kingdom in Luke chapter 9 and Matthew chapter 16.
If this didnt happen in their lifetime in the 1st century..Jesus would be a false prophet. But he's not because he did come.
@@ttownsupreme2183 Brother you do not understand my position.
I believe He did come in A.D. 70 but that was for Israel and the early Jewish Christians.
That was a small version of what is happening globally now.
Is this a salvation issue in your opinion?
In my opinion it is not.
Be well in Christ brother.
This was very interesting. Thanks for taking it on. But I found myself wanting to know more... especially when it comes to the book of Revelation, Israel, and the Antichrist. If you take this view, it seems like a lot of questions are answered, but even more questions arise. I guess this means I'll need to do a deep dive into the position myself.
Jeff Durbin has a few sermons on this and so does Doug Wilson! I started with Jeff’s sermon “who will be left behind”… hope this helps. Other resources are the puritans, and Kenneth Gentry for more scholarly work.
Yes, I have many questions! I'm wondering if the Book of Revelations already happened, who were the two witnesses in chapter 11? Also the battle of Armageddon? I'm more confused now then I was when he started talking
@@beequeen626 it’s such a vast topic! Took me 3 years of study to get my bearings. Keep digging it’s worth it 😊
Wow. How does he know so much? He must be anointed. He is a perfect combination of reading a book and telling a story. My kid can do this too, with Harry Potter books.
I hope the answer is yes, because I am sick and tired of this world.
Would you please elaborate on your personal views.
I am going to study this more in-deoth for myself. It was very hard to follow as he talked so fast. I plan to listen so more.
Also is it the ESV study bible that you use?
Good interviews. I would point out Hebrews 10:19-25 focusing on 25. Also have any of you heard/watched "What's Up Prof" on UA-cam?
The last days "began" during the first century. We are still in those last days - the days of the Messiah - the Messianic age. There have been 5 ages in the past - Adam to Noah, Noah to Abraham, Abraham to David, Davide to the Exile, and the Exile to the Messian. We are now in the Messianic age. The age to come is yet to come.
Oh my gosh..... @58:00 Jeff doesn’t see the amazing international admiration of Jesus Christ yet because he thinks we’re in the “infancy of the church and we have a long way to go and a lot of work to do...” That’s because he doesn’t understand eschatology properly and he’s anticipating the thousand year reign conditions.... without believing in it being literal. We are so close to the beast system right now.
Idky part 2 is so hard for me to focus on. This is my second time listening and I feel like I need a third round
i was once a premil/dispen and i listened to jeff and others like him and thought, they are so wrong!!!!!!!!!! i did my homework and read the bible for myslef and Jeff is right on the money!!!! it felt so good to finally know the truth!!! at first though, i was very upset when i finally realized that i had been wrong all those years it really "rocked my world so to speak!!!! but i had to know the truth that had been nagging at me for a long time because i just could not get past the fact that there are NUMEROUS passages that plainly say it was happening soon, not some 2000+ yrs into the future!!!! but what really bothered me the most was the prophecy in Daniel about the 70 wks of yrs and the insistence that there is this huge gap of time between wk 69 and 70!!!!! i never understood where in the bible that it even suggests that there be such a gap! plus, that prophecy already came true! to the letter!!!!! now it ALL finally makes sense!
Amen! I have a very similar story!
Amen!
amen brother!
LOL I hear this so many times Yet I have not heard one that can square it with scripture, I listened to so many of Durbin. Wilson even RC Sproul and the arguments are a house of cards held up by smoke and mirrors, The biggest thing they cling to is PRETRIB rapture is False, (I Agree) but it does not make their view true, Remember Disinstaionalism is new 1800's but premill has been from the beginning, ANd these guys know this though they love to act as if its one and the same just they same way they Love to correct people saying oh no brother we are not preterst only PARTIAL preterist when in truth its 99% I don't know if anything about hem is not deception
They Have no answer to The Abomination that causes desolation that can square with scripture
They Have no way to square no tribulation before or ever again unless these days have been cut short no one would have survived without just saying Jesus He is just exaggerating
There is no kings and rulers of the eath telling rocks to fall on us to hid us from Christ
There are no eath quakes boils water turning to blood and all the other plagues in rev
Most of All What did Jesus say to not be deceived by EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM it can't be missed like lighting from the east to the west, Every eye even those who pierced him And they shall Mounrs for him as one mourns for an only child
ANd ALL the people of the eath will Mourn because of him When they see him
Very similar to me as well. When I became a Christian, by default the only view I ever heard was Dispensationalism. Until one day Durbin has Kenneth Gentry on and from that point on I studied and studied and picked up all the scholarship I could on Eschatology and began to see all of the deceptive holes in Dispensationalism.
I respect Jeff immensely. But I disagree with his position on eschatology. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 “Now brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that day will not come u less the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed the son of perdition.” Please read the rest of chapter two!
I would encourage you to watch Ken Gentrys sermon on 2 Thessalonians and the man of lawlessness here on UA-cam. He is also Postmill and provides a good perspective on 2 Thessalonians. Keep digging, there are answers. Much love!
The more I listen, the sadder I get that he hasn’t understood the Bible and Gods plan. He conflates the church with Israel and pulls scriptures all out of context. I pray he gets with a solid teacher. Once I understood the whole picture, it’s beautiful and so much deeper that he presents
Assuming Israel and the church are completely separate contradicts Ephesians 2:11-22 and all of Galatians. Yes, 100%, God will save Israel (the nation), but this doesn't actually mean that we don't inherit the same promises and covenant that Israel had...Galatians 3 says we DO
You're artificially separating Israel from the "Church". There's only one group of God's people. If, and ONLY if Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior, you've repented and put your faith in Christ, are you in God's "people". Israel isn't automatically saved because of their nation or ethnicity.
@@Iffmeister 1 Corinthians 10:32. Within the Church, there is no division. Outside the Church, God still has Jews and Gentiles.
Ify Nsoha Jesus came to be the Messiah of Israel and bring the kingdom to the Jews. When they refused that offer, He then postponed the kingdom and offered eternal life to the believing Jews and the gentiles by His crucifixion and subsequent resurrection. When the fullness of the gentiles is complete romans 11:25, God will again put Jews into great tribulation, Jacobs Trouble Jeremiah 30:7, and when they look on Him whom they pierce Zechariah 12:10, John 19:37, they shall be saved. Jesus will return and at that time, sit on the throne of David and rule with a rod of iron Revelation 2:27. This is the future millennial kingdom of 1,000 years. The church reigns with Christ and this is our promise. The church isn’t Israel, separate programs, same Jesus dying for our sins and eternal life. Romans 11 explains this fully. The Jews will be crafted back in because God does NOT renig on His promises.
Cinnamonbuns13 they are separate programs, but all one in Christ
NO and YES, because WE NEVER KNOE WHEN JESUS COME!!!!
To Pastor Durbin; where do you accommodate Hosea 6:1-2 if you say that we have a long time, from now
If the third day it's so near?
“Come, let us return(A) to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces(B)
but he will heal us;(C)
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.(D)
2 After two days he will revive us;(E)
on the third day(F) he will restore(G) us,
that we may live in his presence.
A day is like a thousand years, a thousand years like a day!
@@truthinlovemama exactly! Think about this, in the year 30 Jesus die and resurrected right? (30-37 more or less)
So from 30 to 1030 is first day
From 1030 to 2030 is second day
From 2030 the beginning of the third day
Do we agree so far? Anyways:
Jesus resurrected on the third day, when the ladies went to the tomb early in the morning, He had already resurrected. What I'm getting at God gives us clues of when things should happen and if 2030 is the beginning of the third day there's only hours to resurrection. And Hosea affirms that so does revelation 6:12, when He opens the 6th seal it describes the same event that Jesus describes in the gospel. Does this makes sense? What do you think?
Adela Lax Yes, it makes a lot of sense. I’m not sure how soon in the third day His return will take place, but events like Israel becoming a state make me think sooner rather than later. AoC Network made a really good video about the Hosea prophecy and the year 2030. I’ve also seen others argue 2033 based on calendar irregularities. Either way, I do believe we are nearing the end/beginning. And if not now, sometime in the third day (millennium).
Interview Voddie Baucham for the Amillennial view. He would be excellent.
I’m on Jeff side
Respecting those who are not , including Dr McArthur who’s a great preacher as well but pre-mill
I just can’t see better and more consistent view than post mill
I’d love to see you have Dr. white and Doug Wilson on!!
Thank you so much!
I would pay money to see Jeff Durbin debate Dalton Thomas and Joel Richardson on eschatology
So helpful
Lot of problems with this view. What about the scripture it says every eye shall see him come? This is like the Jehovah witnesses that say Christ came invisible so no one seen him come. What about the man of sin being revealed who sets itself up as God and puts himself in the temple of God. That has not happened. The mark of the beast being not able to buy and sell has not happened.
Postys believe in a second coming still to come.
Agreed..
Doesn't it say, "Every eye shall see Him, even those that peirced Him"? I believe this is talking about the 70 AD judgement coming where those that peirced Him were still alive.
Agree about the mark
