Luka in game 2 went 32pts/11reb/11ast/4stl on 12/21FG (57%) and 4/9 3PT (44%). My man scored 4 3s and the rest of the Mavs made 2 3s. Yes, defense is effort, but when the whole team doesn’t show up offensively and he has to carry such a load, it’s hard to give all that effort on the defensive end, specially when also hurt. You saw how gassed a 22 year old Antman was when guarding Kai and he doesn’t even have Luka’s load offensively. Luka has to carry and get targeted all game by Boston. That’s a lot for anyone.
But for Luka to be that efficient and these dudes don’t think he was good in games 1-2, that’s insane to me. Just straight up hate or they can’t remember what the saw.
Also forgot the 8 turnovers, being the worst defender, and going ghost in the 4th quarter while the game was close.
@@AJ-zb4xq yeah, that’s what happens when you’re carrying so hard, not much left in the tank late in game, which is why they got Kyrie. Every player doesn’t have the luxury of scoring inefficient in the teens for 3 games in the Finals and still be up 3-1 like Tatum.

@@Phinjarvus Try reading a bit more carefully. I said that he’s had 3 games scoring inefficiently in the teens. In 3 of the 4 games, Tatum has scored 16, 18 and 15pts.

This season his raw numbers weren’t good. But if you factor in the analytics, like yards that were lost to dropped passes, his numbers look a lot better. Jax has done very little to help Trevor Lawrence out. At this point you’re banking on the talent to overcome the organizational shortcomings. I think if you switched Joe Burrow with Trevor Lawrence, they’d have very similar results. I think he’s a top 10 talent but not a top 10 QB.

The point is that the refs allowed the Brown push on PJ in game 2, which letter of the law, was a foul. But then they want to call a tight whistle and foul out Luka, which hasn’t happened in his career. It was likely a foul by him, but it was still a bang bang call that they were letting slide all game and all series.

The Mavs weren’t able to perform in the clutch is because for most of these guys it’s their first time in the playoffs. Lively is 20 years old and looked lost and the game looked fast early in series. Hardy is 21 and the same. Green is 23 and Gafford/PJ are 25 and this is their first long playoff run. Mavs also didn’t get the Brown push on PJ back that would have cut it to 3pts with a minute in the game. Then in game 3, Luka gets fouled out with 4 mins left in the games. How can they be clutch without Luka?

What is dude taking about, Luka in game 2 was ultra efficient with 32pts/11reb/11ast/4stl on 12/21FG and 4/9 3PT. Even in game 1 where he was a bit more inefficient, he was still 12/26FG (46%) for 30pts/10reb.

Luka only got 4FTs in that game 3. He’s averaging 5.6FTA per game. And let’s not say for the playoffs, that’s great. Wade averaged 16FTAs vs Mavs in ‘06. He had 3 games with 18, 21 and 25 FTs. Luka in game 3 kept attacking the paint and just never got the calls. Meanwhile refs are calling that bs PJ offensive foul on the screen. If you’re not gonna call fouls, then don’t call the Luka foul out or the PJ foul, because yah were letting them play earlier in the game.
I love that folks point to Luka complaining but rarely admit that he has a point to disagree with the atrocious non calls.
