I had Shimano Dura Ace BB92 on my bike and there was a lot of resistance even after riding for over 2000kms. I ended up replacing it with Cema Hybrid Ceramic. Finally, my crank spins freely.

Hello Janne, no spacer required for this type of BB ( Cema Ceramic T47 for Trek only)

so i have to guess what is happening on the non drive side of the crankset?

Like all bikes, the non drive side unscrews in the opposite direction. I suppose they safely assumed every knew that.
