You stopped right as it was getting to the good part. "I was born in '89." "Then you were born twenty-ONE years ago." "Duh, which would make me twenty. Because everyone is 10 for two years... Because fifth grade is hard for everyone...? MOM, how many lies have I been living?!"
That’s not the good part. The good part is the joke with Britta’s and Jeff’s different reactions to Troy’s grift. The part you’re talking about is the part that normies think is funny
I love this show so much. I even feel sorry for Pierce a lot. They've really done such a great job at creating incredibly flawed, somewhat unlikeable, yet extremely lovable characters. If that made sense haha.
Yeah, that's one of the things that was great about Community for the first 2 or 3 Seasons. After that, everyone slowly devolved into completely unlikable pieces of crap.
I know I'm really late, but they reunited in a zoom call on the darkest timeline podcast! And they also did a table read of S5E4 and on Top that a Q&A!
Whatever top ten list anyone makes of the best Troy moments from the show, the scene where he says "guys, I never cry, but..." has to be on everyone's.
It’s funny during the end seeing Jeff and Britta act like troys parents, but it’s more strange on how during the future seasons Troy and britta start dating and eventually having sex.
fun fact: the reason why you only hear "...to you!" instead of the whole happy birthday song is because it still collects royalties and playing it on TV means you have to pay!
Warner/Chapell claimed to hold the copyright. Of course, when they applied for an extension a couple years ago, they found out they never had the copyright in the first place -it was a bogus claim- so it became public domain. But for several decades, if you wanted the Happy Birthday song, you had to pay - and pay a lot.
@@JimmySteller I dont think you got the joke. Community drawing attention to itself on how it used just the last two words IS a joke on the trope of how TV avoided the copyright in the past.
This show is actually pretty funny. Never watched it much until last night. AND, the creator of this show, Dan Harmon, is now a co creator/ writer for Rick and Morty on adult swim.
As someone who was raised a jehovahs witness, I this was hilarious and accurate. Once my friend was like, I just wanted to give this thing I feel you would like and hope you have a good day The weird part is Troy's birthday is 12/04/89 and mine is 12/05/99
Jonathan Chavero They didn't actually have a party for Pearce, Troy saying Pearce owed him for the cake was a way of getting money from him. Britta disapproved, Jeff approved
"Nobody celebrated my birthday" -- something you get used to after 60 years. "I don't remember good times like my own birthday party" -- a horrible sinking feeling that your mind is going and your ability to enjoy a normal life with friends is over. The characters are gaslighting and the writers are ageist and it's not funny.
The humour in this scene comes from the fact, that you can't play "Happy Birthday" on tv because it's copyrighted.
Sure you can, you just need to pay licensing fees.
Not anymore.
Shut up nerd
And Gambino grew up witnessing Jehovas
Why
The thumbs up and the smile at the end absolutely kills me every time I see it.
"You guys, I never cry ..." Yeees, Troy, you NEVER do that :D
AGH331 "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO MY WHOLE BRAIN IS CRYING"
MY EMOTIONS!
I DON’T UNDERSTAND YOU BRITTA I DON’T UNDERSTAND YOU AT ALL
Did I accidentally listen to Come Sail Away by Styx again?!
YOU CAN'T DISAPPOINT A PICTURE!!
I love how happy and excited Troy gets at the end at Jeff's approval of his trickery

I'm a 94er. So don't be surprised.
Get some advices from the man ,
Pierce Hawthorne .

Feel like thats just chevys personality lol

Donald's face at the end is the cutest thing ever.
I miss this cast. Wish they could all be together again.

@@lolinu824 Rewatched the whole series, listening to podcast, AND watched the table read! TIME FOR THE MOVIE!
This cast was so streets ahead.
hehe Britta and Jeff are such parents lol
Disapproval from Britta - approval from Jeff. Hilarious. The character dynamics they had with the original cast were so great.
That final exchange, excuse me "exchang," at the end between Troy, Britta, and Jeff at the end KILLS me.

yeah kind of like how Jeff and Britta tried to be Annie's parents only for Jeff wanting to have sex with Annie XD
And abed eats britta's donuts
So Oedipal
I could watch the "You guys, I never cry" part in a 10-hour loop and still keep laughing. Seriously. Give me a link.
You Guys
I never cry !
fun fact: the reason why you only hear "...to you!" instead of the whole happy birthday song is because it still collects royalties and playing it on TV means you have to pay!
Ironically, it’s public domain now, so the joke doesn’t work on that level anymore.
To who though?

Any facial expression of Troy is just incredible.
Particularly the 'forest whitaker' eye
chevy's performance on this show is underrated
Best moment at the end. The mum and dad.
Happy Birthday, Troy!

I need Troy's shirt in an XL. Source?
That first "to you" joke is so good man.
Gotta love TROY!
Lol he always cries that's the funny part
Still the best episode of the whole series.
One of the best

The first ten seconds of this is the funniest moment of community
the reason i chose greendale is because of how troy smiles and gives the thumbs up
0:37 Aww
Lol how they avoided hbd song copyright
This cake is no joke 😂 My grandmas cake literally says Todays date in green frosting
I love that dynamic Troy has throughout at least the first 3 seasons, of having Britta and Jeff be his mom and dad/big sis and big bro
MY EMOTIONS
Dawwww the end
Genius of the happy birthday joke. Is like the forbidden song for copyright
Troy I love you
Troy's hair is sick
Troy is adorable, like if Pinocchio became a real boy.
But why would Pierce have to pay for his own birthday cake?!
Cake deposit? Wait, they're making pierce pay for his own fake birthday cake?
I heard "keg deposit", which ensures you return the empty beer keg.
what was that whole Britta and Jeff exchange about??
Jonathan Chavero They didn't actually have a party for Pearce, Troy saying Pearce owed him for the cake was a way of getting money from him. Britta disapproved, Jeff approved

Troy I LOVE YOOOYUYYUUUU SOOOOOOOOO BAAAAAD SPKEWHERE OUT THEHEYEUEEFE

Troy is a god
Why is this video called troy's birthday when the majority of it was about pierce's?
Because it was at Troy's party, the month and day of which coincides with his exposure from his mother's uterus.

Hahaha this is hilarious.
hahahahah thats so fucked up

How stupid. Celebrate Troy's birthday in a Jehovah's Witness-friendly way? No such thing.
