  • Since we’re in the midst of summer and you guys can tell that I’ve been traveling A LOT... I thought I’d take you inside my travel and toiletry bag. It’s all about being strategic with your packing and ONLY bringing the essentials. Back in the day, I would go through my bathroom and grab a product that I haven't used in MONTHS and think that on this next trip, it was the time to start using it. Do not have that mentality when you’re packing for a trip.

So I'm seeing all these skin care products and I'm wanting them because I'm afraid of aging, but I'm also wondering if they're necessary. I'm turning 40 tomorrow and I just looked in the bathroom mirror, and I think I look fine for my age, I could be wrong. I was just travelling, and my skin looked wretched at some points but that was because I hadn't had enough water, but now I'm fully hydrated, I did an acid peel last night, and I'm back in fine form again. Mind you, I don't have kids, and I don't wear much make-up. My moisturizer is a bottle of avocado oil and khiel's avocado eye cream. I used to use Aveda foaming cleanser to wash my face but then I got some cheap thing from an organic food store and it works...just as fine. I do an exfoliating face mask once a week, and I use Alba Botanica Hawaiian facial toner from Superstore and it seems to work fine. That's it How can I tell if I'm not on par with my age? I think my hands probably look older than they need to and I don't moisturize my legs nearly enough, but do you notice a difference with your facial products? I mean I can tell you're glowing, but is that because of your make-up? Or is that your skin glowing? (Oh by the way! I've made your famous green soup every week for the past couple years, and I love it! This year I planted a garden with spinach and Swiss chard just so I could make this specific soup, and I harvested for the first time today. I'm excited to make it with home-grown ingredients instead of store-bought ones).

My husband and I travel to emerging economy countries often, so I have a tip for packing. If you go to say India or Cambodia, etc, flights will get cancelled and you have to end up taking a bus or similar to your final destination. And if it is raining, your clothing will get wet. I buy large Ziploc bags and pack everything in them rolled up and I put these into my suit cases. All my undies in one bag, socks in another, etc. this has saved me from soggy clothes on a number of rainy occasions. (When bumping along a dusty road, bags are the least of your concerns and often they are exposed to the elements.). 🥰

I pack everything in ziplock bags too. Carried-over mentality from camping. I hate wet clothes.

so funny your comment: grab products you haven't used in months thinking you'll use them on the trip! I used to do that ALL THE TIME.

It's a little tip to not get any blood clots and reduce any pain from sitting in one place for a long amount of time :) Here's an article with more info: www.livestrong.com/article/561485-how-long-to-take-an-aspirin-before-flying/

Thanks for sharing! Here are suggestions of what you could pack when your traveling. Always get the travel or sample size. If you don’t have a small version then place what you need in small travel safe containers or ziplock bags & leave the larger versions at home. Always call your hotel ahead of time & find out what amenities/ toiletries they supply for free and leave those items at home
Hair brush, Bobby pins, hair ties, shampoo/ conditioner, & dry shampoo. Face wash, body wash, razor, tweezer, rollerball perfume, deodorant, face lotion, body lotion, sunscreen, serum, facial oil, eye cream, lip balm, & sheet face mask. Cotton pads, q-tips, tampons/pads, & sanitizing wipes, & sunglasses. Pain reliever med, allergy med, cold/flu med, cough drops, neosporin / bandages & vitamins. For some international travel you should add anti-diarrhea med, anti-constipation med, motion sickness med, anti-itch cream, & bug/mosquito repellent for body. Bras, underwear, socks, scarf, accessories, sleep mask/earplugs, pajamas, & thin robe. Charge electronic devices, wires/cords, backup battery, headphones, purse, rfid wallet, drivers license and/or passport, 2 pens, hand sanitizer, credit card & a few small bills of cash. Travel size Makeup brushes, Makeup brush cleaner spray, eyeshadow palette, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, blush, bronzer, highlighter, concealer, foundation, translucent powder, lip liner, lipstick, lipgloss. Comfortable shoes and coordinating outfits appropriate for the weather, activities, & location that you will be in.🙂

Molly Sims Ya I save my beauty samples in a small drawer. Then when my travel bag is running low I replenish it with the items from the “sample size” drawer. 🙂 Luv your vids!

I love the nylon travel bags that have a lot of small compartments with a hanger attached. All you do is get to your room and hang it up in the bathroom. You can see what you need and it keeps all your toiletries off the counters.
