i was mad too, and i played a modded server for a long time, but then i realized i was missing of learning new stuff and keep playing the game as is... and i started soloing again... my friends are still playing the modded server xD
the old legendary wep meta before the economy update sucked and I hated the thrall grind more than almost anything else in this game, especially trying to get purge thralls when the purge would usually break somehow. With economy you needed just two specific thralls and that was it. Since it was just two I could usually mooch off someone or steal them easy and barely have to go thralling. also used to build trade alchemist benches if I had a very limited time to go from very little to actively pvping: the old crafting time for aloe was ridiculous, you could literally set 100 to craft, go on another farming trip, get back, and you'd have just 10 finished lmao. I do like that the funcom spirit of achieving the exact opposite of your stated goal continues lol, like how they said they want to make it seem less like you have infinite stamina... in the stream where they introduced faster stam regen and infinite rolling lol
Every time I play Conan I feel I’ve learned everything there is to know, then people show me things like this and I realise I’m just a noob with 5k hours thank you
Gotta say, I was pretty excited to hear "Let me tell you a story" since the first thing I thought when I saw the video title was "Oh man, there isn't going to be a story?" You are a god among men.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. I just found out I am probably going to need back surgery and was really down in the dumps...then you roll in with a new video and put a smile on my face. Thank you.
I've never set foot in a PVP server because I prefer PVE modded. Over 450 hours all in PVE and man this just makes me more appreciative of what I have in my PVE world. Lol I couldn't imagine not being able to build a grand base out and having to constantly babysit it and worrying about raiders or hackers especially. Props to you PVP players 🙌
Incredible work as always! Have I played Conan any time recently? No. Did I watch this entire video? Hell yes. Love seeing what's possible in games when you get really technical, and you make it easy to enjoy.
For those that skipped the walk down economy memory lane...why watch a masterful storyteller just to skip? Let it play through and enjoy. Keep up the great work!
Late to the Conan party. Never been a survival gamer but it turns out that Palworld is a great “baby’s first survival game” making it the perfect gateway drug to this game I always wanted to love. I am super digging your content. I laughed, I learned. Hope you’re still in to it but I’ll watch your back catalog if not. (At around 17:20 that fellow you were having the discussion with about clan size advantage reminds me of the bass player in Spinal Tap explaining that his amp goes up to 11. “You could increase the power and size of the amplifier” “Yeah but this goes up to 11” Some people are made to suffer less in this life. You should be jealous)
Why did it take so long to find you. I stupidly just started playing Conan. Your videos are great, super entertaining. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Thanks
Somebody get this man the devkit. There's no need to guess, you can just open up the bench blueprints and look at their hitboxes, then open up the buildable base blueprint and look at exactly what the placement rules are and how they're checked.
Yep. As a former duo the economy update basically forced me to try and build in meta spots. I used to be a phantom in the exiled lands. Now I’m a sweaty “alpha” that everyone wants to raid because I have a big base. It doesn’t seem fair
For someone that casually ran into the other PVP based videos of yours, it is kinda neat seeing some of the demonstrations of PVP base design done prior to the proper 2x2 base, not to mention interesting to see some of the old discussions back then. I'll probably wind up dipping toes into RP later but for now, the single-player's what I've been jamming to and it's still neat seeing some of the base discussion, I'm sure I can put it to some use to cheese that scorpion king that spawns near where I built my base...
I feel like a decent compromise would be to allow the T2 benches access to the old recipes at an increased cost. THATS when increased cost could be considered viable. Alternatively, you could just have the specific benches i.e. tanner table, tinkerer bench etc to craft at a cheaper cost. TL;DR I'm totally okay with more space being occupied if it means cheaper crafting. But there definitely needs to be an alternative if I don't want 20 benches in my base
My boy cero is here casually using techniques that can used to make floating structures to cramp in every conceivable crafting bench you need instead. What an absolute chad. The video even shows it if you paid attention!
AH! I love your videos Cero, I only play on one specific Roleplaying server, but your videos still teach me a lot of useful gameknowledge, that i can still use. Like where to farm and such.. Thanks for that. And a great video, you are great and one of my favorite youtubers :)
You da Goat! But really thank you for all the vids you bust your but to make they truly help and they are a strong Conan morale boost!!! The best clan mate we never but always had!!! 🎉
dont play alot of conan and deff wouldnt set foot on a pvp server ( i waste my life pvpin on ark) but i do love all your videos about conan pvp and once again have been totally entertained watching a video tht is of no use to me what so ever XD keep up the good work
Honestly I play single player only with certain things boosted in the server settings to accommodate the fact I’m solo with not much time for video games but what you’re saying does make sense I feel for people that play official servers
Conan Exiles is one of the weirdest games I've ever played. I fell in love quickly with it's size, complexity and overall appearance. It's one of the few games that I absolutely adore but can no longer stand to play. After just a hair over 3 years of experiences, in both PvE and PvP, I began feeling like the developers who'd worked so hard to build something so incredible are now working fervently to destroy that success and drive their players away with each progressing Age. After the completely underwhelming release of Age of War chapter 2 I had to call it quits. I've never quite understood how the devs will state the problems they need to fix, then find the most round about way to make it worse than it was before so consistently. I'm still digging Ceronesthes videos though, even if ones like this remind me of how ridiculous the game has become. If anything, it's nice to hear someone articulate how I've felt about the same subjects in a way that is incredibly entertaining to watch.
Sooo i wonder what is your thought on the living settlement that came with the age of heroes to where one thrall can work multiple benches but you must put them in the worl first?
I build all the bench's but only use the reduce cost, an use the other for Decor item an storage box. really only go for T4 thralls. put im a Pve players, so I like to build big an beautyfull, an dont care about space really, but how to fit in or hide some of the big stations within the build. but you make some really good points from a pvp point of view.
This is incredible! 2 things, with the 2x2 if you use an improved preservation box with the pokies sticking out of the roof, could you just cap the roof? And with the hidden base near the end of the video, where does one find the tents? 🤔 Love your videos! Keep it up!
Yes you can cap it off, improved preservation boxes are weird as hell though so depending on where you place it you can click it from a lot of weird angles. Tents can be unlocked as a regular decorative feat under the artisan table, but they're also found in loot chests pretty frequently these days.
I've used claimless bases that were just benches, but covering them with tents and boxes to protect during non-raid hours is a nice touch. Just make sure to never sleep there because cheaters have ESP hacks.
Very nice video both in story and explanation of the technical side of things. One thing does bother me though. Why the improved furnace and not the kiln? The kiln seems to be often overlooked as it's kinda a T2.5 recipe. It's smaller than the other furnaces(ignoring the charcoal kiln which is junk), and yet holds more than any others, crafts at the speed of the fuel efficient furnace(improved furnace is +0%, kiln is +42.9% speed), and does make the fuel last a bit longer, though not as much as the fuel efficient one. Basically, it has every advantage over improved, and some advantages over the T3 ones as well.
ive enjoyed your content for a while, is there any line of communication between you and devs? On a serious note, and in a completely helpful way? Or is there resentment? You always seem to have the right pulse and take on most things in Conan Exiles. Thanks for all the info you bring to the game and meta
Was playing Conan way back before Siptah and economy update back on Xbox One. Recently just got back into it on PC and gotta say... its better off than it was before then. Impressive 2x2 though, that I wouldn't even imagine possible. Cool but dont see why build like that in a game like Conan. Maybe little travel bases for venturing out for lengths of time idk. Good stuff though man enjoy your other Conan vids and the history catch up was insightful hadn't picked it up or followed it for years till about last week.
Amazing job. Only complaint is that it uses a bed roll, I use those a lot out in the world for mobile spawns since they're cheap. Small price to pay for an amazing base though
The most bizarre addition of the economy update to me always was an always will be.... Casting table. Not only it's stupidly large and doesn't fit anywhere. My issue is in the other fact - why... are molds still a thing? I mean yes, they made sense before, when you'd put one into furnace to craft flasks. But why now? The casting table is supposed to already have all of them built in. It's the very idea of the whole station. Why are molds still needed?!! Aaaah! It actually drives me insane the more I think about it. Now... here is my theory about the thought process Funcom had when they were planning that update. I'm pretty sure someone who was in charge has a fetish for building bases in such way that some of the crafting stations are placed outside. Like, it's a roleplay thing... He or she really wants you to have casting table, tinkers and dyer to be outside of the base. Thank you for the excellent video! The amount of work that went into the cube tech is truly impressive.
More stuff....it goes against what both R.E.H. Howard and Conan himself stood for... “What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs-I was a man before I was a king.” ― Robert E. Howard I started my non crafting Nomadic ways in 2020....I dislike this grindy style hoarder for more lifestyle. I'm here to Play and Slay.
This is great but something as claustrophobic as the 2x2 would drive me 100% insane. Still great content from Kronk as always. As a side note it might be possible to bring the old benches back with mods. I know you like playing on official, but still you have reach and many of the people in your discord could probably make a mod to bring it back. Would be an interesting private server to remove the negatives of the economy update but leave in the positives.
I 'survived' the early days, but after a "war" between me and the four peeps I played with, ended up with a random strike from the eight person group who managed to log in prior to PVP hours it became left with me, and one friend. Mid way through PVP times, my only back up had to leave. Would've been downfall but he logged and managed to time with another to join, and he who joined brought with him, our winning clue. Drop spawns, go light and just run the raid base. It sounded stupid and well, even when it happened it was, but hey we won the fight 2 vs 8 or 3 vs 8 if you want to get picky. So we naturally felt good, then cheaters joined the server, long story short. We got deleted, they ran the server
Why yes, I'm still mad about the economy update - how could you tell?
Where on the doll did the economy update touch you
i was mad too, and i played a modded server for a long time, but then i realized i was missing of learning new stuff and keep playing the game as is... and i started soloing again... my friends are still playing the modded server xD
Who's bitter?! Huh? 😂
They just needed to add TABS! >:(
the old legendary wep meta before the economy update sucked and I hated the thrall grind more than almost anything else in this game, especially trying to get purge thralls when the purge would usually break somehow. With economy you needed just two specific thralls and that was it. Since it was just two I could usually mooch off someone or steal them easy and barely have to go thralling.

Most people don’t realize that chugging water will shorten the duration on poisons
@@MichaelPinkerton THATS A THING????
Now people understand what I've had to put up with in our bases
AND ITS ONLY GONNA GET WORSE
😂
This is the best building video on Conan discussing these techniques I've ever seen. Seriously this is amazing. Very good job.
Gotta say, I was pretty excited to hear "Let me tell you a story" since the first thing I thought when I saw the video title was "Oh man, there isn't going to be a story?" You are a god among men.

Incredible work as always! Have I played Conan any time recently? No. Did I watch this entire video? Hell yes.
Love seeing what's possible in games when you get really technical, and you make it easy to enjoy.
I would love to see a playthrough trying out the claimless base. Maybe not as your primary base but just to see how long you could hide with it.
I can’t stop playing Conan. I can’t stop watching your videos either. What am I doing with my life!!!
For those that skipped the walk down economy memory lane...why watch a masterful storyteller just to skip? Let it play through and enjoy. Keep up the great work!
It has been three years since I bothered playing this game?
Love your content, man. This is just... *Chef's kiss*
About July 2021 judging by when I grabbed Siptah.
Always a joy to consume your content Cero!
"The Sweatbox" - Cronk tested and approved, Rated 5/5 Cronks! Coming soon to your server!
loved the video, a real skillful 'bob the builder' and you made some very good points about the eCoNoMy SyStEm
always appreciate your work.

Great stuff from a man of knowledge 😄 thanks for the detailed explanation about this.
Good to see ya still doing UA-cam :D. Your first upload will always be one of my favorites c:
I never feel worthy of the sheer wisdom you always impart.
Yep. As a former duo the economy update basically forced me to try and build in meta spots. I used to be a phantom in the exiled lands. Now I’m a sweaty “alpha” that everyone wants to raid because I have a big base. It doesn’t seem fair
time to return to phantom? with the tiny shack

Oh man, I love that you made this video just for me.
Anyone know the song starting at 31:41?
this is some top level stuff mate, thanks for sharing. always appreciate your work.
Literally the best conan content on youtube. It's almost impossible to be a solo in pvp know
I don't have conan but I watched the entire video lol
Funcom needs to Buff Arcane Curio Cabinet back to Normal for PVE mode and add wall options to make walls look the same on both sides.
Love your videos, keep creating!
AH! I love your videos Cero, I only play on one specific Roleplaying server, but your videos still teach me a lot of useful gameknowledge, that i can still use. Like where to farm and such..

I am so glad I play on PC and only solo; because mods literally solve all of these problems. Which really proves all your points 😀
All im saying is, as someone still a bit new, i regularly just check every bench because theres too many to keep track of which bench can do what.
dont play alot of conan and deff wouldnt set foot on a pvp server ( i waste my life pvpin on ark) but i do love all your videos about conan pvp and once again have been totally entertained watching a video tht is of no use to me what so ever XD keep up the good work
CONAN VID YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAA
(i pray you will one day escape the algorithm)
Phenomenal crafting power! itty-bitty living space
Honestly I play single player only with certain things boosted in the server settings to accommodate the fact I’m solo with not much time for video games but what you’re saying does make sense I feel for people that play official servers
This knowledge will be extremely useful when I start playing Conan Exiles someday.
first video i watched of this amazing dude. And now I also like pvp part of conan exiles..
Ceronesthes out here doing Gods work.
Amazing content. Thank you so much for this.
this has opened my mind to galactic proportions
This is brilliance.
You managed to explain perfectly why i gave up playing this game 😂
the opening to this video i think just gave me a stroke with just trying to work out how you did all this in a 2x2
You're amazing as always!!
3:33 oh god I’m just starting again recently. I can’t make bottles in furnace now?
at 11:35 I laughed my ass off Literal tears of joy! "don't the both use bark" Trees are plats DOH!?!
For what ever Reason i love the rathole Gameplay. Solo in PVP Games like Ark or Conan
first i was like, some kind of storage maybe, at 0:54 i was LIKE GOD DAMN!

Great video, that's a cleanly stacked shack. When are we getting the video from the event?
He did it..

Does the best armorer's benches still not allow you to make normal non epic armor?
Correct.

It’s such a small gesture that I suppose it could almost be seen as an insult but I’m poor and they say it’s the thought that counts🤓
I, too, am a brokie - so every little bit helps! Thanks bud
Cero tells me to settle in for a story..... I am definitely locked in.
A blessing from the lord
My biggest issue is T3 cauldrons and alchemy station. To put 2-1 combo I need 5x8 space in my base.
Amazing job. Only complaint is that it uses a bed roll, I use those a lot out in the world for mobile spawns since they're cheap. Small price to pay for an amazing base though
What are those no land claim tents and where do I find them

Hey I’m struggling a bit on the second fire bowl any idea what might be going wrong ?
Holy shit I remember this conversation! And I never show up for streams. lol
Now we just need a space video for stables 😂
31:06 THATS ME ❤❤❤

Does this tutorial come with a pair of read glassed.? Just asking for a friend😅
Ah, a fellow lamp enjoyer
I still love this video :)
Id like to see you use the last idea of undetectable, no land claim base in pvp. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun
I use all basic benches, except for armors, blacksmith, and smelter, wich I take up one level just for the extra inventory.
I 'survived' the early days, but after a "war" between me and the four peeps I played with, ended up with a random strike from the eight person group who managed to log in prior to PVP hours it became left with me, and one friend. Forever the best🤣
Here, in Paris, you call this a Penthouse.
There is plenty of room to put a shower and toilets.
I remember the good days like it was yesterday.... 😢
RE: The economy update. So weird for devs of a game based on a solo hero/antihero did not want a game about solo heroes, lmao.
OY! Being a small character makes a difference right?
I need to be small to use this base easily right?
here is a tip - if you are using a mouse with adjustable DPI - turn it to the lowest setting, makes a huge difference when placing items
How to get banend on PVP,? Have a large base for are the benches ;(
The rodent overlord has just absorbed the truths of the universe for this one
I agree... They definitely "Balached" the game.
Game Balanch is at an all time High! If by high we mean stoned.
