Yes, a 4" belt sander please! I would be surprised if they weren't working on one. They have a cordless belt sander patent, but I think that's a 3". XGT should be good for a 4" though.
milwaukee and ryobi already have a cordless belt sander? why would makita have a patent ?
I’ve got the small palm sander, bloody amazing thing, really works well … may need to consider the sheet sander
Thanks a lot, I really like your videos. Nowhere else I see so many tools and in special Makita tools analyses and also used in a real simulation way as you do it. You are helping a lot identifying for myself, what I want and don’t want. Also, seems you get most stuff around 6 month earlier than Germany, so it is like a early announcement of what we can expect here and helps perhaps to delay some decisions, until the right tool comes, before we take comprises.
Love the channel! Love the 1/3 sheet sander! Mine came with a battery skin to slip over the battery. Have you or anyone here seen these for sale on their own? I skimmed the net but didn't have any luck.

Festool cordless sander is brushless as far as im aware
I got the Bosch one simply because it was brushless. It's also 3 in 1 like this Makita.
Dewalt makes a brushless 1/4 sheet sander on the 20v Max XR like. I own it it’s pretty darn good
Like a lot of cordless tools they really have there limitations , these Sanders are basically only good for very light work at best .I have a Carpentry and building business and a few of my guys have cordless Sanders in both Makita and Milwaukee and both are very limited in there capabilities .Cant beat the Metabo 240v 150mm orbital sander for all around sanding on site .

Not in the same price range. but Festool RTSC 400 and brothers are brushless.
I really can’t see the point of having both lxt and xgt. Tools are same size, batteries similar, but xgt more powerful, so what’s the point of expanding the lxt range? It’s confusing. I don’t expect Makita to abandon the lxt but they should consolidate in my opinion. It’s also a nightmare for shops to stock the entire range with so many similar tools with different batteries from Makita.
If I were the king of Makita I'd focus LXT on small and specialty tools. Make a small pouch cell battery that's the same weight as a CXT battery and start releasing kits with it. Then take on Milwaukee's M12 system with one that's already got 200+ tools available.
Not familiar much with other brands as I always used Makita. But this convoluted mess of battery systems is not sustainable. I’m honestly starting to question their wisdom.
I’m happy with the 40v tools I bought and find them better than the 18v I replaced but like others said I doubt whether Makita are truly into xgt long term. Might end up ad a niche afterthought. Hopefully not.
What do you recommend to take off paint finishes on detailed furniture pieces with lots of grooves, like a rocking chair, for example ?

Strangely this doesn’t seem to be stocked anywhere in NZ. I’m pretty sure I saw it at Mitre 10 once, but it is no longer listed.
It's stocked at Tradie Republic. M10 is shit at stocking everything. They wouldn't stock 1/4 of the Makita gear available.

Seriously Makita? Sold my lxt batteries and chargers and been waiting for a decent xgt one to replace my corded one.
Sander, osci and jigsaw are the obvious gaps in XGT right now. I'd be very surprised if we don't see them by the end of the year. They've averaged 10 XGT tools per quarter so far, so we should see at least another 10-15 XGT tools this year. There was a Q3 catalogue last year in late July, but we're not far from Q4 now.

For metal, I'd love to see a rivet + rivet nut gun (yes, combo head or swappable). RA die grinder, beveler, compact mag drill with auto reverse tapping chuck.
I think the torque from the 40v batteries should be awesome for metal work.
@@MadLadsAnonymous jigsaw was announced maybe a month ago. Pace of releases has slowed a bit. I might be wrong about seeing ROS and osci before year's end
Step 1: drill hole in top of sander
Step 2: glue 1/4" hex bit to back of motor shaft
Step 3: attach brushless impact driver

DeWalt actually make a Brushless one. I'm not sure how the impacts will go with the sanding...
