False vs. True Labor: How to Tell the Difference
Вставка

- While taking care of thousands of pregnant women I’ve learned that each pregnancy is different and “normal labor” is a relative term. Contractions that are “normal” come down to what’s normal for the individual. Because contractions are unlike anything else, they are difficult to describe to someone who’s never experienced them before. If it’s your first pregnancy know that what’s normal for you as far as contractions can be extremely difficult to determine.

I loved this! But I can't believe I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby and still looking at things to expect 😅
Haha yeah same!! Good luck by the way xxxx
I’m on the same boat! I think it’s because I’ll always be afraid to deliver in my car or at home due to not making it to the hospital on time 😯, good luck!
37 weeks with my third and same lol but my first two I had to be induced
Hahaha same here this is my second and cant remember a thing😂
I'm at 35 weeks right now with #2, but I was induced for 2 days with #1. We just checked into the hospital like it was a hotel.
So, I really have no clue what to expect or when to go to the hospital, even though I feel like I should know. But like she said, all pregnancies can be different for just one individual.
Plus, it's good to refresh your memory. 🙂
I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I can’t wait for my little one to be here 👶🏽❤️
VERY informative. I am definitely having Braxton Hicks contractions. I was so worried because I'm 32 weeks but after watching this I am certain I am not in early labor. And that balloon example answered a ton of questions as well. Thank you so much.
38 weeks & 4 days & i’ve started feeling pains in my lower abdomen.
hoping i’m going into labour, want to meet my daughter
Exactly same here
Im 34 weeks expecting my first child. This helped me out. The 511 rule is a great tip
This is an awesome explanation.
I'll be 39weeks tomorrow and I'm kinda confuse of the things I feel in my body
I'm due this month in two weeks and am watching this lol
Did you have your baby soon after this lol I'm due next week and still no sign of labor 😐😐
Due next week 🤣
A year later congratulations on Ur baby lol💗
I'm 37 and still never experienced childbirth, I cant wait for that day. I know it will be a lot of pain as long as I have a baby I'm ok.
It's not that great of an experience
@@rosejnobaptiste6206 what's not a great experience?
Helpful visual info.
Ladies I know you are excited, but it's better for baby to be 39 weeks or longer for lung and brain development! 😘. be patient
I thought the minimum was 37 weeks. I want my son to stay in as long as he can to completely develop
That's the minimum, but the new guideline is 39 weeks. Check with your obgyn
Actually you can compare a contraction to a period cramp that gets stronger and stronger. Stronger than you ever thought it could ever get. And very painful. That's how someone described it to me and that's exactly how it felt. I knew I was in labor at 5am on the 16th because it was very strong. You'll know something is up...
covvos eyes
That’s not always true a lot of women it doesn’t feel like that for them.
@@jamiearmstrong2173 ok...I'm relaying what I, friends, and family members who have gone through labor and their ecperience. For me it started like a severe period cramp and got worse. What did it feel like for you?
That’s how mine felt, similar to cramps just on a whole different level. Or like when you have diarrhea and you start to get that stomach pain just more intense and the feeling that you need go push. A couple pushes and you pop that lil sucker out
@@blancam.becerra9393 😂😂 it's not easy
Binta Tambadou I have 3 kids with my youngest being 20 days old and that how all my births were and no epidural on all. The most pain I felt was when I went from 7-10cm and that only took 10 mins. Once I hit 10 I pushed only 3 times
My friend is having contractions as I watch this!
Omg such information is rare n amazing thanks for sharing
Good information!!
That balloon demo is brilliant I’m a visual learner
For the first time I was able to understand the difference between how the real and bh contractions might feel thanks to that balloon demo!
Interesting concept with that balloon
Very informative thank you im currently 40 weeks today and was curious what this tightening was if it's labor or BH and its definately BH so not yet labor but im praying this is a sign ill be going into labor within the next few days!
Thanks that was really helpful
Super helpful! Thanks! :)
I’m 33 weeks and I’ve been experiencing those Braxton Hicks contractions. They are not fun!
Me too .also 33 weeks ..my belly got soo tight I couldn't move today
Good to know. So even the BH contractions are pretty noticeable? I'm wondering if I'm having them but just not knowing, but it sounds like you feel something is up and they are pretty impactful when you have BH contractions also?
Dang really? I thought Braxton Hicks was supposed to be the easy ones
At the end of my 33 weeks, last 2 days I feel pain after 20/30 minutes. And sometimes after 1 hour. Is it brickston hicks? Please, help me
Right! Mine make me to go the bathroom and throw up🤮🤮
Nice example of balloon and ping pong ball.... very well 👍👍👍it's gives proper idea
With my first daughter when I was in labor it felt like there was a bowling ball pushing down on my butt like it was trying to come out where your poop comes out it was so strong and heavy and it was happening like every 5-10 minutes
Just experienced a hard case of Braxton Hicks that check 3 of the 4 boxes. It started while I was laying in bed at 4am, so I got up to walk around and move but it just got worse and worse and that scared me. And it was limited to the top of my uterus, near my chest and it would move on occasion. I'd had uncomfortable moments sitting in a chair and I thought that was Braxton Hicks and that I was handling it like a champ. I'm only 34 weeks so this scared the life out of me
Thanks for sharing this
Maybe one thing she forgot to clarify, when you have had previous pregnancies, Braxton Hicks(BH) are normal before the 3rd trimester. They can even be regular and sort of painful but are really not having any change in your cervix. I am expecting my baby #5 and have had BH since about 12 weeks along. With baby #4 I had them starting at 20 weeks and with baby #2&3 I had them in between 20 & 24 weeks. So don't panic if you get them early in pregnancy, my doctors have told me that they've known women with BH as early as 8 weeks, so it is normal after having so many babies.
Also, use apps that time your contractions and don't be afraid to ask your doctor to check you to see if there is any change in your cervix, normally the advice I always share is, if you can't talk through a contraction, then it might just be very real lol. Even BH don't make you stay quiet. But like they said a couple of times in the video, never be afraid to go in to get checked, because even "experienced" moms have very different pregnancies and very different births. I've had 4 births and I still feel like I have no clue this 5th time around😂
Cinthia Tellez
Also especially for first time pregnancies, the baby stretching your organs can be painful for your cervix and surrounding areas which could get confused with BH this happened to me and I bled as well but I could very well tell it was my cervix in pain
Baby #5? ... girl slow down
38 and 6 days and I’m still confused with the difference
I'm just about 38 weeks pregnant, and I've been having contractions for 24 hours now and the doctor sent me home...the contractions started at about an hour apart and have now been 5 minutes apart for several hours... nothing I do slows or eases the contractions so I'm thinking it's the real thing just early labor, but doctor seems to think it's Braxton Hicks...
Ms.Smartypants89 did you gave your baby yet?
Thank you, very informative
I am due in 3 days..3 cm dilated and started getting cramps !
Thank you 😊😍
I'm due tomorrow and have been having contractions for almost 40 hours. I think I am in early labor
Did your little one arrive? 🍼🐣
I am 34 weeks pregnant
About to me 39 weeks in 3 days still don’t feel anything 😩
same here well i know your comment is 4 months ago but im 39 weeks and don't feel anything
Im having bh
when braxton hicks started the first time, they still happen like this, i had around 5 or more in an hour. I could tell it wasn’t labour but it felt like my torso was being ripped apart :/ i’ve taken to sleeping more to avoid the painful ones but is it bad? I’m about 36-37 weeks but i’m still nervous.
Can we change the name of the Braxton hicks contractions...they don't even compare
I'm 38w 3d with my 3rd during covid im nervous
I had covid during my pregnancy. It wasn't bad at all... They said me and my baby should now have antibodies and some immunity to covid now 🥰. I only had a very mild fever, the highest it ever went was 99. I lowered it with an ice pack on my forehead, Tylenol, and rest. I had a stuffy nose and temporary loss of taste and smell. I've had the flu years ago. The flu was by far much worse. A common cold is worse to me than covid was...
Im 34 weeks
Shes having contractions as i watch this hehehe
This explanation started off wrong and was just scattered around
5 1 1 Didn't work for my 5th delivery. I went thru the whole labor with irregular contractions. They got stronger, but not more regular.
I clicked because I thought that was Hilary duff!!
I had them after having sex 😓😓😓 so tired of pregnancy. Tell the truth guys shit.
Ugh I'm 35 weeks nd it's only false Labour no. Mann I need to give birth already I'm tired
This isn’t helpful at all
Right is not like we can check our own cervix
Well ask your doctor more questions
