I saw him in 1977 for the first time and got hooked. Catch him anytime he does a show nearby. A guitar great for sure!
Cant shake the feeling Robin Trower doesn't get the credit he deserves...
BRIDGE OF SIGHS is outstanding.
When that album was released, my
mind was blown. When Trower
announced the tour; no way I
would miss it 🤩
NEVER thought I'd see a Robin Trower reaction❣
Quite a few... search Robin Trower reaction. You'll find plenty of stink faces.
How'd ya like that!! Robin kicks ass and takes names wherever he goes. Super nice guy too.
Back in the summer of 97 a biker buddy of mine invited me to an H.A. chapters summer party. Had no idea who was playing. There was a large open sided picnic pavilion on the grounds with a small lake a couple of hundred feet away.
As mid evening rolled around I saw three limo's pull into the grounds by the pavilion . The door on the first one opened and I watched Trower get out and remember saying "oh my gawd " . As the sun went down you had a mist /fog that settled in on the lake and around the pavilion . The nearby water was creating the most wicked type of effect on the sound and combined with the foggy mist it was crazy surrealistic on the outside area of that pavilion.
The thing that separates Robin Trower from the rest is his hypnotic tones. I did about a year straight of his jams, and every experience was different. Love this man and his skills!! 🔥🔥
Agreed, no good place to actually place a comment. Robin's tunes were so mellow, and fired up, that they fired up your mellowness! I definitely agree with you, more Robin Trower should be in the line up. He is one of my favorites, among many, just not possible to pick an actual favorite, just depends on my mood and taste for any certain day. He was called the next Jimi Hendrix back in the day, and was actually criticized for it, as if he was trying to imitate Jimi. Bullsh*t! He had his own style and sound, and when I'm in the mood for it, only Trower will do.
Yup...and, it gladness my heart to see RT get some way-too-long-deserved exposure. Dude is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to see perform live...just NASTY stuff.
I saw Robin Trower in a small hall in Cleveland in the mid 70s. James Dewar sounded great. I've seen some of the best listed guitarists in the world.
Never seen Hendrix but in my opinion Robin Trower is on the list of top 20 in the world
Robin Trower still kicking ass in his 70,s. Wow!! One of the best blues players ever!! 🎸 Great reaction brother! Great catalog of music!! 🤘🤙
Good call on the sounds of silence ...gnarly .
Yep, The Fool and Me.
Trower is great, been doing it a long time, starting out with Procol Harum in 1967. I saw him around 1985 in a club in Middletown, NY. Highly recommend checking out the song "Day Of The Eagle".
Love Robin Trower! He was in the band Procol Harum in '67, had a solo career and still playing. Please do Bridge Of Sighs and Daydream. Thanks so much. Check this out: ua-cam.com/video/IuJfA0LguQk/v-deo.html
Was stationed in a small town in upstate NY in the 80's and taped a live concert of his, off the radio.
It blew me and my buddies away. The performance was never put on an album.
It was the best work from him I ever heard. Thanks
Man. A true blast from the past.
Ever notice how the really great ones don't hardly ever have to look down at their hands while they destroy a perfectly good guitar?
Robin Trower is 🔥...The takers get the honey ...killers sing the blues ..I’m to roll’n stoned 🤘
So glad I was a teenager in 1970 greatest rock ever.
So freakin cool that you are playing Robin Trower..
70's blues/rock/with a funky beat, love Robin Trower gooves
The man has been doing it for a very long time. Loved your reaction. Saw him in 2011. Great show. "Day of the Eagle" is another great one.
Loved it.... Loved your reaction✌🇦🇺
The man is so underrated!!
Wow! How great is this...Robin Trower reaction. Yes!
Bridge of Sighs is a Must for any Robin Trower set. Excellent reaction as always and Thank you for doing some Trower. One of IMHO the best interpretive guitarist ever. I first listened to this reaction this morning very early this morning in fact and finally took it off repeat long enough to leave a comment. Thanks for a great Father's day gift to all. Stay Safe.
I do not know who the gentleman playing the guitar is but DAMN!!!! He is incredibly talented.
Love me some Trower. Wicked.
That's serious guitar jammin'! I've been listening to Trower since I had his stuff on 8-track.
Sweet. Trower was a staple of the rockers of the 70s. Had this initially on a lime green 8 track. So many other songs to pick from. His original singer was excellent
Awesome work as always brother. Love Robin Trower and band. He was talent way ahead of his time. Tremendous guitar player for sure. Signature sound. Would love to see you get into more of his music. Blessings.
I remember this when it came out and was blown away along with "Bridge of Sighs" This is one of the great rock singers too, up there with Paul Rodgers. Should have been more famous.
That wasn't James Dewar singing.
Please review his earlier work with his bassist/vocalist James Dewar. His voice along with Robin’s guitar work sealed the deal. The new vocalist although good was is nowhere as soulful as Jimmy Dewar.
I agree with you. Its like watching Stevie Ray Vaughan. You just sit back and enjoy the performance of a master, no need to pontificate the obvious and be grateful you got to witness it. The whole performance is one of my favorites here on YT. If you get a chance view it in its entirety especially "Bridge of Sighs". While others his age are in rocking chairs, RT can still play like nobody's business. Here's one worth reacting to that won't be highly suggested "Tear It Up". Hope you consider it.
You did it just right my man.
Mr James Dewar you are loved and missed.
Check out Bridge of Sighs and Day of the Eagle!!
I love me some Trower!! And it's really great to see him freestyle nothing like watching the man in action, however you really need to listen to the remastered studio version. It's so well put together I think you'll have even more appreciation for his skills. I'm gonna go listen to it now
Fantastic Reaction of Robin Trower, "TOO ROLLING STONED"...✌
Omg. This was soo good. Can't describe how good this was wow 👏 😍
Your right, pausing the guitar solo would have killed the vibe. Good job as usual.
Smoking !!!! 🙌🙌
I drop in a zone in 1975 and groove hard.
The original singer and bass player James Dewar has silky smooth blues vocals that put this guitarist on another level. "Bridge Of Sighs" is worth a spin.
I wore this 8-track and then cassette out in the 70's. Great song choice. There's a lot more gems on Bridge of Sighs
Great reaction!! Great 😎🤘
Robin Trower's Ghosts from newest CD released in 2019 is, in my opinion, a haunting revisit of his classic 70s style.
Embarrassing, but I haven't yet que'd that up. Being the big self-proclaimed Trower fan that I say I am, it's sad to say that. But, I'll have listened to it by the time this comment is read...
Bridge of Sighs and Day of the Eagle are two of his well known songs!! Check them out! You won’t be disappointed!!🤘🏻
check out bridge of sighs and day of the eagle off the same album
Robin Trower ! one of the greatest psychedelic blues players. "Bridge of Sighs" Is a good one, "Day of the eagle" also good.
New sub
Fantastic performance :-)
Lookin fir more Trower, check out Bridge of Sighs. Great jam.
Originally a guitarist in the band Procule Harem. Was very influenced by Jimi Hendrix to change his sound.
Oh How I Love Mr. Robin Trower♥️ I really love the song Sweet Wine of Love and In My Love (Burnin' Love). It's not as popular as other Robin Trower's catalog.
The trilogy of tone. Hendrix, Trower, Vaughan.
Fantastic....drumming could be better, but Robin does his thing and that is more than enough to make up for that. (The original had much better drumming in the fills). Vocalist does a very good job - he is never going to replace Dewar.
Robin Trower a bit underrated? We need to investigate this further.. ! 😎🤘
Robin Trower doesn’t much love from mainstream but guitar players know he is a guitar great!! Another guitar great is Pat Travers! Check out his song Born Under A Bad Sign and the song Snortin Whiskey!!🤘🏻
This is why boomers make fun of today's so called music.
Here's another vote for 'Day of the Eagle'.
While you're into Robin, try another that plays great and spells it funny. Robben Ford.
His newest album absolutely does not suck. Think Stevie Ray Top and you're in the neighborhood.
Props drop. Guitar, walk out..
Yesss some trower also check out rory gallagher.
Spook Decrossting....need more
Not the original lead singer but he's doing a decent job
I really like your reactions. You appreciate solid musical performances as I do. If you ever get the chance... check out "liza Jane" from "The players" DVD with Brent Mason and Vince Gill. Its country... but its fast paced and upbeat with some very tasty guitar solos by both. Check it out sometime if you haven't already. Peace!
Fat fingers.... 3x watching, can't get enough
SO MUCH FOR YOU DOING MOSTLY ORIGINAL RECORDINGS HUH??? LOLOL :) THAT DIDN'T LAST VERY LONG . YOU NEED TO DO THIS FROM HIS EPIC ALBUM ( BRIDGE OF SIGHS ) :)
Should have found a video when he was a young man.
I can't please everybody i guess, I did what was requested
No complaints here ....this was fantastic ✌️
@@DramaSydETV He was much more powerful and his band was tighter. Don't take offence. I have been a fan since the 70s and he kicked ass when he was younger. In this video he is about 70 yrs old
No offense taken, let's dig into some younger Trower!!!!
@@DramaSydETV Ive been a fan of Trower since the 70s and he's had various different singers and band members through the years . In the early years Dewar was the singer and had an amazing voice . You might want to take a listen to stuff from all the different time periods.
No good place at all. You might as well do Day Of the eagle by Trower now
One h#ll of a guitar player.
Soooo
Great reaction. Can I see a bruce springsteen 'American skin' reaction please?
dude listen to the album version 1000 times better.
Great...but not the definitive live version of this song...which is on ‘Robin Trower Live’ from the mid seventies
This is actually a pretty poor recording. There are much better live versions. The sound was baffled.
