- Massive news for the LittleBigPlanet community, an archive for over 10 million LBP level backups has just been released.
Ever since the LBP servers shut down with zero heads up for players to archive their creations, there’s been a lingering fear of LittleBigPlanet levels becoming lost media. This is mostly not a concern anymore as 10 million levels from 2008 all the way to February 20th, 2023 have been saved and released online by an anonymous source. And yes, that is all of the mainline LBP games on PS3, so LBP1, 2 and 3.
This archive only includes the level data, so no photos, comments, scores and reviews sadly, but still, levels are the most important thing here. That being said, levels after February 2023 have not been properly archived, meaning that there's still about 11 months time of seemingly lost levels, that's why I said it was mostly not a concern.
This archive is huge though, consisting of over 1.2 Terabytes of level data. There’s also a readme.txt file you can go through of all of the level names, upload dates, play counts and heart counts, as well as the PSN ids attached to said levels.

Small correction: The level info is in the dry.db file not the readme.txt. You can use any SQL program to look at it.
I will not be linking the archive itself, but it should be fairly easy to find on archive.org

Honestly, I'm definitely expecting a massive amount of them to literally just be the high school, bomb survival, shark survival, etc duplicates that the Latin player & ayee alts kept reuploading, lol.

Correction: I was the one who told m88youngling about the 3 hearts were only archived, but i was wrong. i took a deeper look at it, but every single level is archived. BUT any levels that used cross controller DLC is gone.

Great news. Hopefully there's some way to get these all up and accessible on private servers like Beacon and Refresh. Quick question though, what is the level being played in the background of the video? Looks sick.

The other part hopes not, because they were all just copy+pasted levels (the high school thing, angry birds bomb survival, mortal combat, etc.)
Just before the (not so) temporary shutdown of February or something, I actually started to learn more about how to create my own levels for once. I've always been too young to actually understand how all the tools worked, but now that I've finally developed the ability to sit down and watch a 30 min YT tutorial, the servers shut down indefinitely. Yipee.
But I am looking forward to a potential LBP4, and would like to try Restitched when it's out.
I'm glad that there were many levels saved. I wouldn't believe them if they were to just dump all of the levels out the window.
I'd love to see a private server that's essentially a read-only archive of all these levels but you can't publish any new ones

I guess they really saved all the good old levels... I had created multiple accounts on my PS3 over the years and uploaded levels in pretty much all of them, and there isn't a single level which I did not find :) The person who archived the levels must be heaven sent...

This is some good news, it’s not literally everything, but it’s almost everything.
Funny story, I keep seeing comments about Latin Player, I actually met the guy before and even have him as a friend on my account. Nice guy, never got the reason as to why he kept re-uploading the same levels though. He’s still a friend in my account to this day, hasn’t been on in a long while though.

Does anybody know if it's possible to download and import any of these levels to your PS3 without CFW? Like, would it work the same way as backing up levels from your Moon would? Or do they require CFW to properly read and import?

Not sure if it was saved cant find it because i had to censor the name muppets pack had the perfect costume pieces to make herbert so i made my own “bomb survival” but with bots that would hump you to death you had guns to kill them not my proudest moment but i had people weezing over that masterpiece because all they had on was big nose and polka dot boxers 😂
I think it says a lot about this communities character when it does a much better job at saving the game than Sony.

If they were uploaded before February 20th 2023, they should be there. Unless you deleted them on your own.

I hope most of my levels are lost. They werent very good. Except for Button Jump! That was a good minigame! You and up to 3 other friends can compete to have the most points by jumping on a button repeatedly, but you have to press very lightly so you don't jump too high and increase the time it will take to push the button! It was my most popular one, for good reason!
But yeah, I hope the others are gone, they weren't good.
