"Takk og farvel; tida er blitt ei annen" is Myrkgrav's second full-length album, following the 2006 debut "Trollskau, skrømt og kølabrenning". Takk og farvel represents a natural progression from what the debut album showcased: proper folk metal with roots in the blacker side of the extreme metal genres.

Myrkgrav is a one-man folk metal project founded in 2003 by Lars Jensen in Norway. The band is heavily concept-based, with lyrical and visual themes rooted in folklore and local history from Lars' homelands, Ringerike and its surroundings.
Myrkgrav relies strongly on Norwegian folk music (including the use of traditional instruments) in its sound, while retaining a distinct extreme metal basis, such as to aspire towards bringing folk and metal together like it was the most natural thing in the world. What started out as a bedroom black metal project in 2003, has evolved to become a fusion of several different styles.
In addition to Lars Jensen himself, Myrkgrav often features guest members that add their own flare to the sound.

Let me start by saying that I wasn't expecting this to have a stronger impact on me than Trollskau... boy was I wrong. The ten year wait was absolutely worth it.
In the first listen, Skjøn Jomfru, Bakom Gyrihaugen, Østa Glette are definitely tracks that stick out. I love the upbeat, almost punk feel of Tviom. The rerecorded tracks are also very pleasant to listen to. Simply put, the album will be a staple in my collection for years to come. Great job, Lars. Sad to see Myrkgrav go, but I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors.

may I ask why? It's literally the same song with English lyrics.

***** I know but its like i speak norwegian and had been listening to the track many times before the release. So when the english track comes on i sing and think of the norwegian version so it only feels wrong. But glad that english speaking fans can enjoy it too.

Ok the shoes that you craft should make able to walk up on the sky, that´s the only way I understand the fact that you stop doing music like this because of the shoes. If the red golden valfar´s existed, sure yo would have at least one shining on your desk.

This is such a beautiful and ass-kicking album! I remember listening to Soterudsvarten a few years ago and going really crazy about it, specially at the beginning of the song because of that awesome violin. I'm in love with the vocals and the melodic-folkloric sound as well!

If the CD release generates enough money for a vinyl pressing, yes. Time will tell, and it all depends on how well "worth of mouth" promotion works for such a small band as Myrkgrav.

There is korpituli, an artist from Finland I think, he basically "metalise" old Finnish folk songs, he only have couple hundreds subscribers on UA-cam but he is absolutely incredible! There is also another one, storm, they don't have a UA-cam channel and they split anyway years ago, also an incredible music, BUT storm is openly anti Christian and quite in a violent way, and also a little racist, just warning you! But I think korpituli is clean. I think storm is from Finland but sing in Swedish for some reason
