When my partner and I met, we found we were both nerdy with some overlap, but mostly different nerdy interests. It works because we have our individual nerdy things we can do solo/with our own friends, and we have the nerdy things we can do together. We actually got married yesterday! So full transparency, I am a person who has horrible fashion sense & I don’t know how to dress or I’ve yet to figure out what looks good on me. Most days you’ll find me in clothes that is way too oversized and my hair is NEVER done, make-up? What’s that. In short, I’m a fashion nightmare. Buuut, one thing I just can’t get over is your eccentric choice of outfits or just the weird pairings of shoes and accessories you end up throwing together. I have to recommend implanon (birth control tiny implant in arm) for clear skin and no periods, hence no pimples. It doesnt work for everyone and if it doesnt it can be removed. I got it to prevent migraines AND bieth control but it has the added benefit of clearing your skin due to settling of hormones. Again, it may not suit but def worth a try in my humble opinion.

I had gone on so many dates that were total duds, that the nervousness was essentially nonexistent by the time I went on a first date with my now husband. I had a date in the same location the day before that was a dud, so I went into the next date thinking it’d go nowhere. I found I was more ‘myself’ when I thought nothing would come of the date. I'm back in the dating game at the age of 39 and it's been really interesting. I've been on four dates with different guys so far after joining up on Bumble, I don't find it intimidating as I'm quite an outgoing person, and I never over-pressure myself to make the total most bestest impression, I just focus on being myself and see how it goes! I will say that online dating is such a weird experience for me. I'm non-binary and demisexual, so I explain to these folks that it takes a while for me to get that "spark" going and everyone has been super polite and a couple have been very "kindly curious" which has been great as it's given us a good talking point. I'm happy for you Cassie and like how optimistic you are after this date. I met my boyfriend on Tinder a year ago and this is exactly how I felt after our first date. Next month, we will be together a year. We talk about the future quite a bit and our families like the significant other. Life has been great. I believe that he's my person. ❤
Just ventured into the online dating world at 51 and it's not fun. Just tonight I met a guy for dinner and it was obvious his profile picture was NOT current. I wanted to end the meet-up so I got on the 2 worst topics...politics and religion. That did the trick. Hopefully my next guy will be better and actually look like his profile and it won't be another one-and-done. Good luck with your guy!!
You remind me so much of myself when I was dating. I had gone on so many dates that were total duds, that the nervousness was essentially nonexistent by the time I went on a first date with my now husband.
I had a date in the same location the day before that was a dud, so I went into the next date thinking it’d go nowhere. I found I was more ‘myself’ when I thought nothing would come of the date. Clearly that worked in my favor as we’ve been married for 9 years.
Am I saying this to make you jaded? No. Just saying it so you can put the nervousness aside and be more yourself. (I know, I know. Easier said than done.)

And...why NOT add 2 more kitties. Well you already know I’ve been with my “person” for 17 years. But i disclosed to you he’s been diagnosed with lung cancer. We see oncologist tomorrow to discuss his pet scan which we were thankfully told has NOT spread anywhere just in that lung thank God. However I know we have a long road ahead but I’m in for the long haul. You know?? I’m glad your date was good!!!!!
Sending gentle hugs me and my boyfriend been together 15+ years and he was in the hospital last month and we found out he is in liver failure ( he only turned 36 in Jan) , and man waiting for his specialist appointment is taking forever. I'm back in the dating game at the age of 39 and it's been really interesting. I've been on four dates with different guys so far after joining up on Bumble, I don't find it intimidating as I'm quite an outgoing person, and I never over-pressure myself to make the total most bestest impression, I just focus on being myself and see how it goes!
I will say that online dating is such a weird experience for me. I'm non-binary and demisexual, so I explain to these folks that it takes a while for me to get that "spark" going and everyone has been super polite and a couple have been very "kindly curious" which has been great as it's given us a good talking point.

Im a self described worry-wart and my family agree! I cant help the way i am though! Worry/concern to some degree is good. It means you care. But sometimes you wish you could reel it in.
