Wow! The house is a fixer-upper and cost $2.6 million! The move cost $400,000. Imagine paying all that money and then spending more to renovate the house. The owner, Tim Brown, is 70 years old. What a crazy project to have as a senior citizen!!
He made a lot of money off the lot he sold is what I read. So he got to keep the house, move, it and still make money. The house and the one it's being moved next to will turn into multi family housing. I saw the interior of the home and it's stunning! Either way, still crazy to see a house just nonchalantly being moved down the street lol.
@@pavithra1134 If you are not from usa it would be baffling I understand. Most houses in USA are made with wood and walls inside the house like cardboards, with some thin wood. There is barely any concrete in houses like this. That is why it's removable. I was also surprise seeing how most houses are made in USA when I moved to US. This is because they could easily remodel a house if they want to. Also there is not need for concrete and iron structures if there is no multiple stories in a house. That's why the houses are removable and of course it still requires tons of planning, engineering to be able to move it.
Hii Jack.. Can you please say...me how they lifted the house from the land..what type of machines they used to take off P... Am so excited to know about that..
Great accomplishment, my only concern is in its new position the left side looks too close to next door, so it will be difficult to access the left side for maintenance.
Thanks for the video...watched from Montpelier, VT...glad to hear you speak of the importance of science and math used to plan this move. The mosy amazing part for me was the turn onto a sloped street which, to my mind, required hydraulic lifts on the downside of the turn, lifts which required constant adjustments.,
I just stood around talking to a camera, everyone else involved in the move (movers, traffic control, tree cutters, SFMTA, planners, etc) are the real heroes!
It would be good to see the house new site in a empty state and learn about how they intend to connect to the new location facilities. Even a picture of the new foundations would have been good. And a picture of the original site now empty.
There was an elder gentlemen walking around in a suit always around the movers/other people in hard hats, I wonder if he was the owner? (short stature, wearing glasses)
@@jacks_off_to maybe 🤔 the man I knew prior to this was a bit larger and was elderly, but I believe he sold the home in the early 70’s or 90’s , he said he regretted it very much. 🤦🏻♂️ he was a adjudicator 👨🏼⚖️
Moving day must have been easy for the owners, no having to pack boxes, moving truck and all those other headaches that come with moving! SF is so expensive rather than buying/renting another place, they moved their old place!
An interesting video! Had to subscribe, I like casual vlogging. :-)

I'm not sure if Tim was the gentlemen walking around in a grey suit, but if that was him, he was smiling the entire time!
@@jacks_off_to No, the gentlemen is a permit consultant to help the owner, architect, and house mover coordinate with City.
@@chienshao-lun5345 Thanks for the info!!
Worth every penny!

Great job, best video of the move bar none.
I live across the street. Your excellent video captured the whole experience well in 10 minutes! A 11 hour event. Great video editing.
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it!
Best video of this move on utube 100% well done..from Ireland 🇮🇪
Fascinating!
"gotta trim the hedges before you pack it in" 🤣🤣🤣.
Great video I'm glad it made it in one piece 😁 best part is when you spot the dog with the long flowing hair 😆😆😆 4:38
that pretty dog was sure enjoying the housing moving too!!
The way they backed it in with that much precision is very commendable.
they were really careful about it, and the backing up took a couple of hours
My husband was one of the movers! This was so cool. Thank you!
They're the real heroes! A lot of bystanders were cheering for them
How could its possible.. Can you say me how they moved.. And how the took the house from the land.. please.. Am so curious to know about that
@@pavithra1134 oh man. So much work. They use things called beams and cribbing. They should have a good amount of videos out there.
@@brittanyblackwell9082 thank you

I don't know the details so perhaps someone with better knowledge can help out here. I think the it's a large hydraulic dolly
I subscribed because of this video 👍

Mr. Fredericksen forgot to use balloons to move his house this time!! 🤣🤣🤭🤭

I think those two buildings (the Victorian and the old mortuary) will be connected
Nice video Jack, thanks for posting.
Thank God they didn't destroy it

The crew was extremely careful the entire way, and like you said constantly making adjustments. Hats off to them!
I came for the house but stayed for the Jack
My friend Daniels is joining
Ha ha ha ha
Great job to you and everyone involved in the move.

Yo! This is doing numbers. Good for you, man.
It was largely due to the event itself, but I'll take it anyways!!!!
It would be good to see the house new site in a empty state and learn about how they intend to connect to the new location facilities. Even a picture of the new foundations would have been good. And a picture of the original site now empty.
I was told another building will be built in the original site, so hopefully they don't start too fast so perhaps someone can go check it out!
Then the owners come along and say, ''maybe a bit more to the right please'' ''oh no maybe it was better before, could you...'' 🤣
Our house, dun dun dun, in the middle of our street, Our House
I can’t imagine how much that move cost. 😬 Ouch.
one article had the cost at $520,000
I've been inside that Englander house two times over fifteen years ago. It was in dire need of repair.
I knew the man that use to own this house 🏡

Looks like it was put in a bad section of town.

They would never manage to do this in the UK due to the Health and Safety Gestapo
That house should be turned into a museum or housing for low income residents. The person who owns that mansion is greedy.
House moving enthusiasts 🤣

Lol moved it next to an uglier building
