Enhanced Agricultural Productivity and Resilience to Climate Change

Matabeleland South region of Zimbabwe has for long been experiencing low rainfall and high temperatures. The effects and impact of the change in climate has been further worsened by poor natural resource management in the district including deforestation, bad agricultural practices and overgrazing. Lack of efficient technologies such as affordable energy for water pumping, limited access to agricultural inputs, undeveloped markets and limited knowledge on farming as a business skills for smallholder farmers in areas such as management, governance, production and marketing remains some of the major challenges.
