lol... the comment in the description.... YEP! this is easily the beast mode level of the game. Its where all the puzzles come in to play. I was really surprised you could do it in a single video. It used to take us hours and hours to play when I was younger. Congrats on the flawless playthrough
@@DrSanto91I imagine if there was a place where a lot of people often got stuck in first 6 levels, that would be it. The entrance to the level's main room is not as obvious as most
@youjustreadthis897 i know right and just think this game gets harder the further you go into it. I think tomb raider 3 is the hardest in the trilogy.
@@DrSanto91 Totally agree. I completed TR1 and TR2 a few times, but never completed TR3. I didn't find it as much fun, got stuck and then lost interest
@youjustreadthis897 yup I was the same way. I remember just borrowing tomb raider 2 but it was pretty hard. And tomb raider 3 i was the same got stuck after the India levels and never got past it and just never completed the game.
Back when level design was an absolute art form :-). You can't do the left/right flip on the newer games can you? That gave the designers so much more to work with when it came to puzzles.
The secrets in this level are all basically impossible to get if you’re new to the series and don’t know your way around everything yet. If you’re new and play this level for the first time you’ll be lucky if you find one of ‘em.
A Folly is a type of building without purpose (except to look nice). St Francis is an historical Saint. There is no such place in the world however, just in the Tomb Raider canon.
At 10:00 Lara stands on a pressure pad which opens the door. The moment she leaves the pressure pad, a timer begins to countdown and the door will close on you if you are not quick enough
@@ladycroft214 Managed to do it after a few dozen more tries lol, to my surprise, it was just a secret xD I thought it was the right way to go, I wouldn't have bothered, had I known it was just a secret :)))
when i was a kid playing this and i entered this level it seemed so friggin huge. its a bit smaller than i remember, my imagination was a lot bigger
3:23 that music is giving me heart palpitations

So many of these references I didn't understand as a kid. Bit of a hodge-podge of mythical figures now that I think about it but fun to revisit!
I love your videos, you're amazing like Lara.
The Monastery stages were the best

If 0:38 happened in-game, you'd hear Lara go "Waaaaaaaaaaahhh!"
My favourite level even though it is a bitch to complete. Fell to my death so, so many times!!.

For real, the secrets in this level are some next level skill stuff.
To this day, I wonder how they came up with the name for this level, lol. Also, how come they chose the Roman name Neptune instead of Poseidon?

@@thorin4406 I never knew "folly" meant that too. That makes sense, thanks!
Thor instead of Hephaestus, fortunately Anniversary fixed it.
Very good video you forgot shotgun shells at 20:24 lol
10:17 how the hell do you get that door to open?

I absolutely love that music.
is the part at 5:15 broken? I literally cannot get up there, and I did it EXACTLY as you did it in the video, to the pixel!
It is very difficult, you have to be in just the right spot
