I really hope they keep going in this direction, the atmosphere and the more assassin based content is what we fell in love with. I'm sick of barging down forts and hacking away at people, the combat is pretty fun but after 80hrs, I'm more than over it now. It's Ubisoft though, I'm ready to be disappointed again

      The dlc is kinda disappointing.
Even though the graphic is great as always, the content is just not enough for me and there are a lot of missed opportunities, considering that so many more contents could be explored in the dlc.
Rollo and the Frankish lady Estrid could be added in the game but Ubisoft simply forgets about the characters that they created.
And most importantly, where is my Isu weapon? I mean we should get one after finishing the dlc, right?

The map was tiny compared even to Ireland, but it just highlighted to me how density is far more important than size. There was more than enough space to fit everything in.
The plague rats were annoyingly mediocre. They're next to useless if you try it in England, where enemies run away from the arrow and seek cover, while the rats just mill around without seeking out prey.
Plus, the "wild" rats you encounter in Francia are just reskinned fire. When I got attacked the first time, my Eivor even starts complaining about "damn flames" and exclaiming "put it out".
Seems like a lot of wasted potential, as well as missing half of the story, especially compared to Wrath of the Druids DLC.
You get a blacksmith in Francia, but nothing else.
There's no harbour, so no ship customisation. There's a story explanation as to why you have to leave your longship at the entrance to the map, yet you can summon it whenever you want and sail up and down the rivers anyway; no tattoo artist to apply the designs available; the mind-numbingly tedious repetition of the firefly missions, with only one type worth your time; the head of the legendary bull that you're informed to take to a taxidermist to make a trophy out of - except you can't.
I can't say it's worth the money in the end.
It feels cut short, so they can monetise the completion, where we'll undoubtedly discover that the third unknown female leader of the Bellatores Dei is the Queen.

At this point this game is an unholy abomination of all the popular action RPG tropes in gaming of the last two decades coupled with Ubisoft's corporate greed.
Close up animations of human anatomy for killmoves like Mortal Kombat? We got that.
Gathering clues from notes to unlock new dialogue options like DA:Inquisition ? Check.
Executing targets during dialogue cutscenes like Alpha Protocol ? Check.
Multiple romance options but no real nudity like Witcher 1 ? Check.
Zoom in on the reticle on the target before firing an arrow accompanied by slowmo & breathing sounds like Skyrim? Check.

why compare a game to a cartoon? Ducktales is irrelevant, AC is Historical...you get to explore historical sites and time periods and meet people and figures from those time periods. It is Historical Fiction at best but Ubisoft does their research and brings these great Historical Era's to life so we can experience them.
Seriously you get to visit the City of Alexandria and Library in Origins, Athens in Odyssey, and so much more throughout Our History. They do their research and I love exploring Historical places and meeting Historical Figures from Our Past and I will look forward to each AC Entry they bring to us.

    • @DragonLord1103

The Games are Fictional, yes, but the Places and People are not. Try Playing the games yourself instead of spouting assumptions. The Sci-Fi Bullshit? is actually possible if we had the right technology today. The Isu being a huge what if are the catalyst for the games as well as the Assassin/Templar conflict of the games.
How about looking up a few of the Historical Figures from the games? many are real people you meet and assassinate and they lived and died during those time periods. Ravensthorpe is a real place. as for the Scale in the games? if talking about the worlds, sure..but they condensed England and France down because no one would want to ride across England or France because of how large they are, Greece in AC Odyssey is big because it takes place across the Greek Isles and you get a SHip to sail from Isle to Isle.
I am not an Idiot and even I know History Books were written by the victors and would have outdated information. Besides I trust Ubisoft with Assassins Creed because unlike Reading about an Event? I get to experience it in a Game, Fictional or not.

      @Max1990Power 3 роки тому

@Fishy Vagina AC never claimed to be 100% historical accurate.they say they have been inspired by historical figures and events. As said above, AC is historical fiction with scifi elements. The architecture and social behaviour among the citizens in for example Athens is correct. For instance the district Keramaikos where everything potteryrelated was produced. And if you want to learn more you have these infopages and that explorationmode available.
The value here is that it can plant a seed of interest in history for youths around the world. To nourish the interest in archaology and history. That is how it started for me, with age of Empires.

Pretty much how I felt too. Took me 100+ hours to just finish the main story and I'm not exactly someone who goes around doing every single side quest or finding every item. The game demands too much time for relatively little reward. It's the kind of game you can pick up for a couple hours, have a bit of fun with, then leave it on the shelf for a couple weeks, come back, rinse and repeat.
I really felt like some of the game mechanics took a major step backward from Odyssey too. Skill tree is an absolute mess. Unlocking abilities is pot luck. Using abilities is nerfed so you can only have 4 equipped at once. You have to spend silver just to transmog when this was free in previous games. A lot of strange decisions that just take away the fun IMO.

So let me split this into a few categories
Story: 9/10 (I was genuinely invested in these characters, it was kinda hard to kill Charles but I know it was for the best. I also like the internal conflicts in Charles and sigfred.)
Characters: 8/10 (Loved a vast majority of the characters but I do kinda dislike the overemphasizing on god and what not with the queen)
Map size: 8/10 (not the biggest but it literally doesn’t need to be.)
map accessibility: 5/10 (the fact that you can only access the palace and the villa once is a catastrophic shortcoming especially since one of these two zones take up nearly a 9th of the map.)
Abilities: 7/10 (I really love the rats. It’s a fun ability. Otherwise nothing to ground breaking.)
Gameplay: 8/10 (It’s fun and nicely paced however EVERYTHING IS DENSELY OVERLEVELED!!!)
New mechanics: 7/10 (The rebel camps are a fun idea however the rats make me angry, sometimes you can’t get rid of them and they can sap you of so much health.
Weapons: 10/10 (Short Swords and Scythes?! Are you guys crazy?! I LOOOOOVE IT!!!)
Appearal: 2/10 (Only two sets…….. I know that these sets are amazing but only two…… two…… disappointing…..)
Bugs: 0/10 (This dlc has far too many to count but I’ll say this, they need to desperately fix the lag and crashing bugs, I crashed so many times…… it’s a little ridiculous.)
Overall Rating: 7/10 (It’s a wonderful dlc but it does have major problems that hold it back. It needs fixing soon.)

I feel like the game is heading for feature creep with all the tacked on systems that dont contribute to the main game. between siege of paris, wrath of druids, river raids and mastery challenges we have 4 different currencies earned though different activities to spend in 4 different shops with a finite number of gear and cosmetics. once everything is bought, the currencies and activities for earning them become redundant. theres technically replay ability there but theres no incentive to.
plus for me, because they dont add the new enemy types and such to england It feels to me the DLC's are making the main england map a bit redundant as well. I want to be able to encounter druids, werewolves, and cavalry in england too.

Ubisoft embarrasses itself more with everyday assassin's creed release. How in the ACTUAL FUCK can a normal man (suppose to be an assassin!) summon plague rats? What is this shit?
And how can enemy soldiers survive a bomb blast literally attached to their body.
I hate all and everything they have done to this series. It's like watching someone get beaten to death with a baseball bat.
