Will, I'm very impressed with this, and your other videos as well. As someone looking to relocate/retire to the Kalispell/Columbia Falls/Whitefish area in the next 1-2 years, I'm learning a lot from you and appreciate your knowledge and insight. Thanks and keep up the great work!

for anyone looking for fire protection via plants/natural cultivation please look at Douglas Kent's book on fire protection. While it does focus on plants that grow in California a great plenty of the plants suggest fire deterrent/protection which are able to grow in a variety of climates. Full title of the book is: Firescaping: Protecting Your Home with a Fire-Resistant Landscape. Please give a look if you are having trouble with fire protection issues.

we lost our home 1.5 yrs ago to a wildfire and we live in town. No one's safe from 120mph wind-driven fire. No one thought ever thought we'd lose our homes to wildfire. Our town had over 550 homes burn, with over 1000 total in the fire. The post-fire process takes forever...we won't have a home again until next spring. And 92% of us fire victims were grossly underinsured. Our insurance company underinsured us by over 50% of the rebuild costs. Do your homework folks. Don't be us. Take your coverage and divide it by your square feet and find out what your local construction costs are and then get the right coverage. There's also insurance companies that won't insure homes in our town anymore.

How rural is that town? May I ask that area and state as relating to how far flung it is from a major city?
