Another nice video. My wife now uses her bike to get to work, too. Her commute is a tad bit shorter than mine, but not much (round about 5km for a single way). She's a doctor working in a hospital, so she doesn't get to sit around as much as I do (software developer, I sit around all day. You where talking about sitting around in one of your other work commute videos), but she too appreciates the extra workout even a short bike ride gives you. Do you wait patiently as they cross or do you shout to get their attention to have them clear a way for you? In my case, I have bells installed on all my bike so whenever I'm in such a situation, I give them a repeated warning ring but it might not work if they're wearing headphones and in such case, I just have to wait patiently for them to cross or if possible, I pick up my bike and walk around them until I get to the front of them. Hi! I Love how informative your videos are! Can you tell me what the average speed (in km/s) you two are pedaling at in the video?? Is it very unsafe to bike on the road in japan?
Hey cruise, another very interesting and well made video, I have watched quite a few cycling around town videos by other people but so far yours are way better made and produced than the others, thanks for doing this. Where do you position your camera, is it on some kind of chest rig or on the bike ?
Thanks! Very happy to hear that, I've been practicing a lot to get to this point. It's honestly just a plain chest mount, no gimbal, combined with a conscious riding style
These aren't protected at all.. Lots of businesses along the way with cars pulling in and out without checking for bikes.. Really dangerous in the evening, but thankfully most of them are still closed in the morning so it's not bad then

Hi. I love your videos... I recently bought a Road Bike and been using it for commuting to work. Is it necessary to wear a jacket while commuting? Is it for visibility? Or any other reasons?
Must have been told before but it is quite the progress for humanity in general when an American uses metric terms :P But anyhow what a fun life. Nagoya looks like an amazing city and quite the life you have there
Is it really safe to cross all those side streets without checking over your shoulder each time!? In Sydney, you'd last 5 mins if you're lucky, green light or no green light!! I suppose if that's how quiet rush-hour traffic is then then chances of someone coming round the corner is lower but I'd like to see her look :-(
@@TwoWheelCruise isnt there a power transfer and hotspot issue? especially when you ride 100k+ But if you say so since you are have more experience in cycling, ill stick with my mtb shoes. Thanks Cruise! :)
that difference in power transfer only matters really if you're racing. I feel more comfortable overall on the longer rides with mtb shoes since I can walk around easier. I personally don't notice any hotspot problems that differ between the two. Definitely feel faster and more secure with road pedals though
Thanks cruise, now I have no reason to buy road shoes and pedals. Ill invest to power meter and decent head unit so numbers can really tell me what is really going on betwen road/mtb shoes latter Once again thank you :)

By any chance do you guys live in Osaka? The route looks kinda familiar
Nagoya
Hey cruise, another very interesting and well made video, I have watched quite a few cycling around town videos by other people but so far yours are way better made and produced than the others, thanks for doing this.
Where do you position your camera, is it on some kind of chest rig or on the bike ?
Thanks! Very happy to hear that, I've been practicing a lot to get to this point. It's honestly just a plain chest mount, no gimbal, combined with a conscious riding style
As a fellow commuter I'm curious about what you do with sweaty clothes at work, if any. Mine I just shove them in a bag to be washed at home.
And nice slice of life video, as always! :)
Thanks! We have a small hanging rack by our warehouse that I use :)
Muy buenos paisajes! Saludos desde Argentina 🚲🆒
Thanks! 😁
Looks like a safe commute. Wish U.S. had protected bike Lanes.
These aren't protected at all.. Lots of businesses along the way with cars pulling in and out without checking for bikes.. Really dangerous in the evening, but thankfully most of them are still closed in the morning so it's not bad then
Makes me want to tour on bike. But always hesitant🤓
Go for it! :)
@@TwoWheelCruise well got a touring bike!! . Gonna try USA , bed and breakfast credit card tour, see how that goes. . But looking at that film is fascinating.
Nice, enjoy!
What is she doing work-wise now? or did I miss that?
she's an OL now at a factory related to the car industry
What's her hi-viz jacket? I want one!
Arrowhere
Maybe the Toyota auto museum will explain how they started as the Toyosha bicycle co
wow, I didn't know about that! Would be really interesting if they have something there..
Hay cruise .
Im a toyota mechanic in australia would b good to see that museum clip one day. I went to Aichi toyota kaikan last Feb. Going to akita for language course this aug . One day I will get back to Nagoya to see the museum.😎👍👍
I want to go, but apparently can't film any video inside :/ Hope you get a chance to go yourself :)
Love cycling but also need a car. Looking into a Camry. Which model year should I aim for? 2012?
@@scholzdigital the red one, obviously!
Fantastic 👍
Nice camera work
Thanks! 😎
Hi. I love your videos... I recently bought a Road Bike and been using it for commuting to work. Is it necessary to wear a jacket while commuting? Is it for visibility? Or any other reasons?
Thanks! 😀 and enjoy the new ride! It's for visibility and the morning is still kind of cool. Also, she doesn't like tanning 😂
@@TwoWheelCruise 😂😂 Thanks and I'm happy for you. You're a lucky guy.✌
Great video, learnt more about Japan everyday's life. Yes, it would be a good idea to do a Toyota Museum video.
Cheers! :)
Maglev😮. Great ride with your partner, the love of your life. Visit the Toyota museum and take us on a tour please 🙂
Hoping to go one day, but I guess video is limited
Must have been told before but it is quite the progress for humanity in general when an American uses metric terms :P But anyhow what a fun life. Nagoya looks like an amazing city and quite the life you have there
I always preferred metric, even when I lived in the US. 😅
Thanks, Nagoya is a pretty nice place to live :)
Great couple.
Thanks! :)
I know that i have watched too many movies but 200 years ago there were samurais walking these streets
there was actually a really big battle that took place right where she's standing in this photo
How much do bikes cost in Japan? Any websites? I need an upgrade. Could you give me more info about the JIT program? I just got my Associate.
They're pretty standard pricing, sometimes more expensive.. check out the maker websites for Japan like trek or giant
did I miss what she does for work? and what she use to do for work?
lmao why
She works for a factory in the auto industry. Before, she used to do factory labor, now she's working in the office mostly doing data entry
Bro can you advice with a good road bike with a good price as I want to travel with it 300km at least
single speeds are the cheapest / least maintenance
@@TwoWheelCruise OK what's the kind of your bike you are using now??
What's your opinion about eurobike
ua-cam.com/video/L4VHkuVpR_s/v-deo.html
Enjoyed
Thanks! :)
How do you manage sweating. Do you shower at work or what?
you guys are riding fast ! about under 15mph ?? ha
Is it really safe to cross all those side streets without checking over your shoulder each time!? In Sydney, you'd last 5 mins if you're lucky, green light or no green light!!
I suppose if that's how quiet rush-hour traffic is then then chances of someone coming round the corner is lower but I'd like to see her look :-(
No, it's not.. I've been hooked numerous times.. I'm trying to get her to be more cautious about it :/
The good thing about her commute is she's going away from the city, so it's less busy than the roads I go through
@@TwoWheelCruise There's only two ways to learn. One way involves listening, and the other involves pain... :-(
😬😬😬
I had exactly the same concern when I watched the ride.
Im glad im not the only one who use mtb pedals on road bike hahahah
There's no reason to use road pedals unless you're racing :)
@@TwoWheelCruise isnt there a power transfer and hotspot issue? especially when you ride 100k+
But if you say so since you are have more experience in cycling, ill stick with my mtb shoes.
Ill invest to power meter and decent head unit so numbers can really tell me what is really going on betwen road/mtb shoes latter
Once again thank you :)
