Yep. Still here for the coin after 14 years! Thank you for what you do!!
You’ve been an RRT for 14 years? Cool! Do you enjoy it?
Do you need a degree to start out or grt accepted in the program? Or is it a certification program and 2 year course on its own?
I've decided to pursue respiratory therapy as well, my kids are all grown now and I have nothing but time on my hands besides working but ready to do what I've always wanted to do.
You’ll Love it.
I little late since you posted but I’m about to start school this fall at 40 to knock out my pre-reqs so I can hopefully make it in to the mri program. My kiddo is grown and out the house too
For anyone reading this, I hope that you know that Jesus Christ loves you. No matter what you are going through, no matter what you have done, and no matter what the world is throwing at you, Jesus will never leave you, and will always be by your side. Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only one who can give life. Nobody can get to heaven except through him. I pray that you leave the things of this temporary world, things, such as lust, sexual sin, anger, violence, greed, pride, and the things that the devil tempts you with. Sin separates us from God. The punishment for sin is death. I pray that you will turn towards Christ, and that you will give your life to Jesus, who gave his life for you. Jesus died for your sins on the cross then rose on the third day, so that you may be reconciled with God. You receive this free gift when you turn to him and you will as a result repent from your sins and receive everlasting life. God is holy and perfect. Jesus’s sacrifice made you clean in God’s sight and when you accept his son’s sacrifice and live with the Holy Spirit Inside of you, you will experience his presence. When you live in communion with the Lord, you will find purpose and amazing joy and will experience a change in your life. (From Darkness to light) I wanna see ya in heaven. God is real. A building has a builder. Creation has a creator.
Here Jesus claims to be God (this is only one instance out of many) vvv
John 8:58 “Jesus answered them: 'I solemnly declare it: before Abraham came to be, I AM.” [This was the name God gave himself when he first communicated with Moses, Exodus 3:14 “God replied, 'I am who am. ' Then he added, 'This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you. '”]

I am in school to be a respiratory therapist right now. Can I ask you a question when there’s a code and everyone’s run into the room what is the job of a respiratory therapist?
You focus on the airway. Grab that ambu bag first!
Assess the patient. Make sure their o2 sats are above 90%. Have ambu bag on standby in case pt stops breathing. If they do you bag or breath for them. Also if it is established that the pt is going to get intubated you can pre oxygenate with ambu but use your skills to asses best practice. If doctor has to intubate you’re in charged with helping them get the tube in and making sure it’s in the right place.
During code blue RT’s are responsible for ventilation and circulation. If you’re the first person, begin compressions. Once help arrives, switch off and begin ventilation. Once you have assistance and the doctor is there, prepare for intubation if that’s the decision.
Preparing for intubation is different story.

Glidescope or Laryngoscope

@@jkl1672 I can tell you’re not an RT or work in a sub acute
Which state are u in?
Jesus saves😊
Currently in the program starting my first week of clinicals in hospitals August 28th, good luck everyone 👌
hope your first day is good !
@@why712 it was great honestly thank you!
Dude that's so awesome, Ive been a social worker and housing administration office guy but I wanna see about a respiratory therapist program or technology part of it cuz I think I can do it! 😅😁
I am definitely getting myself together, wondering what made you pursue it, how's the first day? I believe in you.
Was the school really hard? I’m starting this fall and I’m scared as hell🥺
How has everything panned out for you since clinicals?
😂. I know a few that make tons of money! One guy works 10 days straight and takes off 4-5 days he actually leaves town on short vacations 👏🏾🙏🏿
Yes my friends do really well.
people keep taking about nursing, I am shocked that no body is taking about this
can I ask you a question? is there a test you must take before applying for a respiratory therapy program? (like the TEAS test for nursing) @@acoupleofradtechs
Love this ! We get the best of both worlds Tech and HealthCare .
Why isn’t it for you, the cons?
I’m hoping I get into the program in the fall
Did u get in and did u pass? I heard it’s hard
Hello, I am choosing to pursue this. I’m very excited.
im in RT school right now but at some point I wish to go back to school about a decade after to also pursue a degree in radiology because I want the best of both worlds!
I just got accepted into a program for the fall so excited to start.
Same Here🐾!
Good luck on you Journey!
Where at
@@kerubsdubs congratulations 🎉 same to you!
@@Its.ash_leehow much do you have to now about healthcare and other stuff before you start?
@@saprissa9 I had my degree in kinesiology already so I had all the pre-requisites done which is like all the biology and your English and maths but it depends on what state you’re in it might differ from here in Cali
Senior Respiratory Therapy student here ❤
Hey, congrats!
Im looking to become a traveling Respiratory therapist.
I’ve taken my Wonderlich last week. Got a 30. Taking my entrance HESI next week. My goal is a 95%. My program only starts twice a year and only takes 17 students per start date. Really really wanna make this cut.
For me all the questions are the same every time I take the exam. I record the exam and I found the answer online. I’m going to memorize the questions and answers
Can I ask you a question? does the respiratory therapy program have a test before applying? (like the TEAS test for nursing)
Yup…. In Tennessee. If your going to a trade school like Tennessee tech or Concord you have to sit for a 3 hour test. I think it’s called HESI.
@@TJenee26 I live in California, the schools near me is foothill college and skyline college, when I checked their website, it did not mention any test
It depends on the program some schools ask for a teas to eliminate the interview process.
