Distracted drivers are the worst. Paying attention to everything other than driving. Please be safe and watch out for each other. Greetings from Lancaster, California.
Glad you got there while it wasn't bigger. Nearly put my foot through the floor again when that guy didn't look like he was stopping for anything. Great defensive driving! Stay safe. 🚒🇺🇸
Well, the drive there was more heart-stopping than the fire. I’m glad everyone is safe and I’m glad the fire was small and didn’t cause property damage. Other than a 15 foot square area where the cows can’t graze till Spring.
Funny to see people not paying attention, literally everyone stopped at the intersection, i wonder what that car was thinking like “yea everyone stopped but idc im still gonna go”
I always thought that we had it bad at the SO back in the mid 90's when running code but today's drivers are often clueless and/or distracted by everything exceeept driving. "Clearing" intersections is more important today than ever before... It's already bad enough that so many don't even know to yield to the right ... Stay safe out there.
They threw a train horn on the TAC. I'm surprised but also not, something needs to be loud enough to get people's attention and act like the horn on the other firetrucks.
Something was mounted on window at some point. Alcohol wipes will remove it. Takes a little elbow grease, but you can get rid of it easy. The alcohol wipes break down the glue.
I would just move out the way if I one of those cars or in China, sometimes people get through all the cars so they so the emergency vehicles can get through faster
If you are going to film your response and do not have your seat belts on and get into a accident insurance and workman's comp will not pay. It sounded like a seatbelt alarm was sounding while driving
Idk about at this department, but I know ours has a truck with super sensitive seatbelt alarm sensors such that if the folding seat partially rises when we hit a bump, it trips the alarms until we unbuckle and then buckle back up again. Then, our tanker has a faulty seat sensor for the driver's seat, so regardless of if you're buckled or not, it's setting off the alarm. We just have to hit the "acknowledge warning" button on the truck to silence it every few minutes because the sensor is in such a difficult spot to access that theyd have to spend 3 or 4 hours to yank the entire seat, remove and replace the sensor, then reinstall the seat again. Of course, it went bad right after the truck warranty expired, so we don't want to pay to have it replaced because it's going to have the truck we use as a blocker on car wrecks (our primary call type) out of service for so long, and will cost a small fortune to have fixed.
These "different" sirens, such as phaser and yelp, and even hi-low, do serve a purpose. It's designed to get drivers attention, as many have become numb to the regular wail siren. That being said, there's always someone who is just plain ignorant, like the driver in this video who apparently thought they were special.
@jpope537 People do not recognize it as a "Siren." For whatever reason, people just don't accept or realize what it is. Call it TV programming or whatever but the regular sirens, wail/yelp, people recognize it and act accordingly. The Hyper yelp/Phaser "sounds cool" but is quite ineffective. Just my opinion and a few days worth of experience.
@rogerdehaven5603 Our county recognizes both TAC and Brush units. The difference is that brush trucks usually have a small pump and not a lot of hose. They only respond to brush fires. While TACs are basically mini engines. They have full sized pumps and a range of handlines and supply lines. They are great for brush fires, however can function as a full sized engine at other fires, and are great for water supply and drafting
1:48 great job noticing and avoiding that!

Yeah agreed but the problem is also them not wearing a seatbelt.
Nice catch on avoiding Mr. Ignorant.

Bird 💩 on the window 😂

This was amazing I love this so much.
I can tell, you sure after watch when you come up to a four way intersection, people don’t care about emergency vehicles with lights and sirens.
Y department just lays the horn horn someone doesn't move out of the way
Funny to see people not paying attention, literally everyone stopped at the intersection, i wonder what that car was thinking like “yea everyone stopped but idc im still gonna go”
the guy that almost t-boned you its like "hmm I don't know why everyone else is stopped i'll just try to blast through this intersection" SMH
It would be super cool if one day you could maybe do a walk around of the station and show off all the units in one video
He did that lol its on the channel
@@fhp2024he’s done that
That was very close
that spot on the windshield would drive me nuts lol

Any way can have cc on? thanks
Does anyone know what TAC stands for?

If don't have one need a q siren on that unit.

Phaser/hyper yelp. Absolutely worthless but dudes love using it for some reason.
It’s just another siren, what’s the difference?

To far
What does TAC stand for and why don't your County call them Brush Truck's? Is it like a Tanker/ Tender type deal
I believe it’s short for “Attack,” I’m not sure, attack trucks are basically brush trucks
@JustyourlocalJRFirefighter Yes depending on how it equipped.
@@rogerdehaven5603 I figured
Watch this video to see how it looks and what equipment it has. No idea about why it's called a TAC though.
