    Nice tips.
Though you forgot something that you might not even know.
Drones like the karma and dji has the ability to have errors in compass.
On the lower left corner of the screen, click that compass and always check if the drone is facing on the direction on the map in relation to the ACTUAL direction of the drone.
If not, you have a serious flyaways gonna happen.
Also. Before you turn on the drone motors, check the altitude of the drone and the distance. If you dont and it shows 49 meters away when the drone is just next in front of you, there will be a flyaway.
You do this when drone is on but motors off

Again, great points! I usually check that the starting altitude is at zero without even thinking about it, so adding that to my formal PreFlight routine is a really good idea. 🤩

I love my Karma Drone! Your tips are spot on. Pilots who don't practice without GPS are asking for it.

It's too bad the Karma had such a rocky run, but I'm happy I'm not the only one still enjoying the platform.
      Thanks for watching!

Nice, but get rid of the incredibly distracting background music with the random loud drum beats.

Actually, my kids were playing basketball in the background, so I was trying to mask some of the background noise. 😅
      Thanks for suffering through. 😎

    One more thing.
If the drone ask you to calibrate compass, it doesnt always mean you have to calibrate. It is only telling you that you have an interferance on that location and its best for you to move location.
Its also better not to always calibrate.
But on the case of karma, if it doesnt tell you anything about interferance or compass error,
    Just calibrate it anyways.

Very good points! The compass can get thrown off by lots of factors including large metal objects or even steel reinforcements in concrete. You can often get that error message to go away just by moving a few feet away from the object that's causing the interference. I actually do get that error a lot with the Karma. It seems to be particularly affected by compass interference while my DJI Mini 2 isn't nearly as finicky.
      Thanks for watching

Thanks for the video, did you repost it ? I though it was around several years ago this video is just showing as 1 year old. There is still a large Karma community out there and I'm sure that they will be thankful for your video.

No, this video is just a year old. I did do an unboxing video a few years back when I first got it. I'm actually thinking of using it for a few more videos coming up. It's still a solid drone, but it could be a useful teaching point for using older drones now that Remote ID is a thing.
I have shared this in the karma facebook groups, but feel free to reshare it. There may be some other groups out there that I am not aware of.
      Thanks for watching!

@@RCPhysics thanks , I dropped it on my group (GoPro Karma Fixes) as it has some real value. My page is about finding fixes to issues like the pair issue that plagued people and then we create videos on how to repair them so people can fix problems themselves. We also have a discord server where people can ask questions and get assistance on the processes that we have created. Your video fits in really well with that, I saw it a while back and remember the Kp part of the app and wanted to share it with others.

I mainly fly my DJI Mini 2 now, but I still like the Karma. You just have to accept it for what it is and not ask it to do things that it's not good at. The range frankly is not very good, but it's a big drone that can handle a lot of wind as long as you're not flying very far away from your base station.
