I've been saying this in the comment section of nearly every one of Spyres' performances, but his instrument is incredible. Reminds me of Bjorling just a bit, but he is 100% his own singer. Really digging his timbre and clearly his voice is very big
Michael Spyres is very exciting to see live. (For any who speculated about the size of his voice, it is very big; and no, he does not force anything. In fact, it just seems to roll out of him with no effort at all -- even when he is singing upside down.) He's good to see. Go hear him when you can. Dramatically sound also, and good charisma.
You can tell he has been listening to the greats. That is what Pavarotti did. He surrounded himself with the greats, and built his foundation upon their shoulders.
Ole Ole y Ole.......briliant voice......more better like Alanga.......he need more experience, but he is on very but very good way.....Good lucke man. Greetings from Spain
I agree that he sounds great in the video. BUT perhaps the voice is so small that the people on the concert can not hear him well. I was on a concert with Jonas Kaufman in Eldborg, the new concerthouse in Iceland. I DID NOT hear "The famous Helden Tenor" well, but in the radio I heard a recording, from the concert with him,and then HE SOUNDED SO GREAT ! I don´t know Mr. Spyres and have not heard him "live" . He sounds great in this video, BUT did the audience hear him well ??My voice IS BIG !
Kaufman was promising in his first years and for a certain time he almost sounded like a future great dramatic tenor -at least if heard in a proper recording. Sadly mr. Kaufman decided to start singing into his throat and become some kind of a mockery of a bass. He clearly sounds like a very ingolato dramatic baritone. Spyres, on the other hand, has an incredible voice. Really incredible. I listened to him live, I've worked with him, I know his voice: he is nowhere to be compared with this clay idols of modern days.
Interesting. The clips get progressively worse as he aged over the last ten years. Top notes not properly produced from the start, however - normal top notes that is.
are the idiots aware of where they are and what they're listening too, this guy is terrific and the audience seem rather nonchalant about the whole affair. Perhaps they woke up later, who knows but hat off to you Michael, well done. Hope you get to have a non zombie audience next time:-)))
Nice voice. But he is always pushing and not using the voice box. 50 percent of his voice is inside his body. And I have to say that orchestra is really bad..

Oh my, your voice is so beautiful Michael
Magnificent!!! Thank you very much!
This is a VERY special instrument. Bravo Michael!
OMG, what a wonderful tenor!
You can tell he has been listening to the greats. That is what Pavarotti did. He surrounded himself with the greats, and built his foundation upon their shoulders.
What a splendid voice!
Magnifique voix !
Bravissimo.... from NICE COTE D AZUR !!!!!
BRAVISSIMO!
Magic!!!!!
Wow! I have no words. Perhaps moved?
awesome
WOW!!! AMAZING!!! BRAVISSIMO!!!
Wow how perfect
Wonderful singing. Such a pity about the opening Tout mon ame being a third out! And the brass section: what the hell? Drunk, I'd say.
Very beautiful! some french lyrics are slightly questionable in pronunciation.
Merci beaucoup!
True
Bravo
Gyönyörű "c" tenor.
It is not wise to make threats, second I'm not gerrhard and I rarely leave any comments on UA-cam,and any that I have, have always been positive
Ole Ole y Ole.......briliant voice......more better like Alanga.......he need more experience, but he is on very but very good way.....Good lucke man. Greetings from Spain
Similar timbre to Alfredo Krauss - so good on the ears!

2:26 I almost s**t myself this scared me very badly

karifrid So is your belly!

Karifrid, your belly is the only thing that's is big, I already commented on your singing, perhaps u didn't see the review yet!!!
Interesting. The clips get progressively worse as he aged over the last ten years. Top notes not properly produced from the start, however - normal top notes that is.
That's not what he's doing.
are the idiots aware of where they are and what they're listening too, this guy is terrific and the audience seem rather nonchalant about the whole affair. Perhaps they woke up later, who knows but hat off to you Michael, well done. Hope you get to have a non zombie audience next time:-)))
who on earth conducted this? It is horrible. Singing is good though.
Nice voice. But he is always pushing and not using the voice box. 50 percent of his voice is inside his body. And I have to say that orchestra is really bad..

Tanto naso
Too bad he has Jonas Kaufmann to compete with. Kaufmann owns this role.
Kaufman is not a pimple on this guy's ass
Shelter972 you are an idiot

+Susanne Reitinger English bitte
+James Frazier let me clarify for Susanne. This guy has much better technique than Kaufman. Kaufman is a great voice
